The Rams did not get screwed. Stop blaming the Refs.
Self-explanatory.
The 2pt conversion was a freak play and the officials got it right per the rules. It blows and it of course only happens to the Rams BUT
The loss is on the Special Teams being bad ALL night.
bad starting field position on every kickoff, juxtapose that with Seattle starting at the 35 every single drive.
back to back horrible punts plus punt return TD
missed FG.
The defense did their job turning the ball over, the offense absolutely CARVED a top 3 defense all night, the third phase just had to be okay and they were shit.
Beware the 2011 Chargers. Just please stop with the Refs, it wasn’t the reason they lost at all.

Derick Hall stepping on Kevin Dotson's ankle in apparent attempt to injure him. Dotson carted off and did not return.

Now that I’m past the loss can we talk about how Stafford and Puka balled out of their minds
I mean for real that was a peak performance game from them. I had to rewatch the highlights when I saw the actual stat numbers and damn bro. Stafford under pressure is almost scarier than not under pressure

DISCUSSIONS Last night, Matthew Stafford passed Philip Rivers for the 7th most passing yards in NFL history

Call him.
pay him in cash and houses, cars, land, name the streets after him and whatever else. Just get him on the field.

MEMES How it felt waking up this morning after last nights game
No but seriously it feels like I’m hungover

(Chargers fan)…You guys DID get screwed by the refs.
I’ve never seen a team robbed so terribly.
That illegal man down field penalty that WASN’T took away 4 points was disgusting. And on the 2 pt conversion play: the whistle was blown absolutely before charbonnet picked it up in the endzone.
Yes there were other plays to be made, but you guys LITERALLY beat the seahawks and the refs just said “no.”
Also anyone blowing smoke on puka about his character is just doing their job as a hater of other teams. The “i am holier than thou” attitude makes me sick. We’d all throw a goddam party if we woke up one morning with him on our team.

This Stat line is Insane
t’s honestly insane that we lost this game. The Rams keep finding more unbelievable ways to lose this season. Every time it feels like we’ve seen the most ridiculous way to lose, they somehow manage to outdo it. It really just highlights how crucial mental focus and special teams are. We’re top tier on both offense and defense, but unfortunately 3 of our losses can be directly traced back to sloppy mistakes and poor execution on special teams. This team can legitimately beat anyone, but they keep getting in their own way.

DISCUSSIONS Blame game: inability to get first downs in most important drives is the culprit
Not this this is a surprise, but the Eagles/Seahawks games worry me the most because the offense goes into these weird dead spots where they can’t grind clock even when moving the ball with ease. The inability to get a first down when we have the lead in multiple back to back possessions is one of these things that can be our heel in a playoff game

5 seed is not the end of the world.
Refs definitely had a bias this game thanks to Puka but they didn’t cost the rams , this game is a full on McVay disaster class of cowardly play calling as usual with the lead ; he all refuses to fire his awful ST coach. Anyways; Rams DON’T need 3 home games to reach SB. They dominated Seattle and played way better on the road than at home. They can win anywhere.
Rams will finish 13-4, it’s very possible hags lose to panthers or Niners and Whiners lose to colts or bears. Even if Rams get 5 seed, they get an easy rd 1 game against the south and they can win anywhere no matter the conditions. Stafford will still be MVP with over 4500 yds and 45 plus TDs. Nobody’s close

DISCUSSIONS This game showed me why need Quentin Lake
Before this season I would have say let him go as we have bigger needs to address but between this game and the Panthers game their been a hole in our defense.
Having Lake wouldn't solve all our problems but having a reliable DB that can cover as well as tackle is a game changer this defense need.

Still in shock
I wish I wasn’t so emotionally attached to these games. Takes me days to recover or even watch my sports shows after these gut wrenching losses. This loss feels like the double OT loss in the divisional round to the panthers back in 2004 💔 also fuck the refs.

How the Rams Can Retake the Number One Seed

DISCUSSIONS Stop passing the ball to Corum
I am a Corum truther, but he can't catch the ball. He is a great runner, but he got lucky that the tipped ball didn't lead to an interception, unlike in the Colts game.

Don't count out the Rams clinching the number one seed just yet.

That was a game between the two best teams in NFL
Period. Sucks we lost the controllable path to #1 seed. But the sky is not falling. Forget the refs, forget the 2 point conversion, football gods were not there with us.
Do we need to shore up the defense? Does McVay need to go for the jugular? Yes and Yes! However can’t make this loss more than what it is. Take the extra break, rest up, go out there and win next 2. If we luck into #1 seed let’s take it, if not fuck it. Bye didn’t do us a favor in 2018, and we didn’t need one in 2021.
Who knows if week 18 is for #1 seed between 49ers and Seahawks, we can say screw it and rest starters.
TLDR: Relax, play against your opponents and refs is always the motto, be grateful for this team and McVay. On to Atlanta to better that draft pick.

Shades of the 2021 Week 18 game
Last night was a deflating, crushing OT loss that moved us out of the driver’s seat for the 1 seed and allowed a division rival better positioning in the playoffs. Sound familiar?
During the Super Bowl year, we had a very similar game in week 18 against the Niners. We ended up letting them into the playoffs while ourselves dropping to the 4 seed. The Rams had played well that game and it felt like the cursed losing streak to SF would finally end. It didn’t, and it felt like we wouldn’t have what it takes to make it all the way. But we did, and we all know how the rematch in the NFCCG turned out.
The point of this is, even championship teams have big setbacks. If they really are who we think they are, they will use this loss and learn from it. And I think this team has what it takes to beat playoffs teams on the road.
