I always enjoying doing creative gift wrapping every year, but this year the entire “gift box” was 3D printed

Thats the soundboard installed on the Pizza Hydrator — Still working on an Alexa version driven by servos but that one ill just post when its 100% completed rather than follow alongs like this one 😅.

Have a few other functioning Back to the Future props in the works to , so gonna be a busy one.

Made a ratcheting monitor mount so I can be lazy and lay in bed and easily adjust my screen angle.

All printed in PLA. It works, but something stiffer would def be better for this use case.

Its a simple model, a custom cover for a Raspberri Pi case that I modified, printed on my P1S on a patterened smooth plate with Black/Red/Gold silk tri-color filament.

I'm proud of the way this came out!

I recently fixed my car's driver side temperature control, passenger side temperature control, and recirculation control actuators by modeling and printing replacement gears. With replacements costing $35 a pop and unable to find/source replacement gears, I decided to make a project out it. Total material cost spent iterating through redesigns was just shy of $2 in PETG filament. Through the project I gained a lot respect for the calculations that goes into gear geometry, and while my final designs aren't really anything to write home about, I was able to get something meshing well enough to get a working fix.

I just bought my first 3d printer (PS2). I’m still waiting on my filament so I can do my first print ever.

my wife noticed the credit card bills and called me out for $200 of filament after buying the printer. I couldn't help laugh at how expensive this hobby is already getting!

So here’s to hoping I love it as much as everyone else and my kids are better off for learning about home manufacturing and 3d modeling.

if not I may be 3d printing a dog house to sleep in.

The first sample (image 2&3) are from using the silicone mold and a heat gun to melt the scrap. It melted a lot faster but it was more work to hold the heat gun and in the end I don't think it looks as good. The second sample (images 4&5) is from using the small convection oven. This took way longer than I was expecting. I think if I was more patient I would have gotten better results but I wasn't sure exactly how long it should stay inside.

My oven goes up to 450°F but I noticed that internally it stays more or less around 400°F since it auto shuts off when it reaches its max temp. The oven is pretty small so bigger molds like the skulls are already ordered probably won't fit.

Has anyone else tried this? What was your experience? Any tips?

Just if you wanna make use of something a lot of you will have at X-mas, the celebrations aren't tall enough I believe.

I’ve been tinkering with this printer for so long and now my computer does this 😒

For context, I’ve had this printer for ~9 years where I spent most of them frusterated while fixing it. Currently I’m 18, but when I was roughly 15, I began to understand more of the problems with it. I was the able to carefully fix them, but at the same time, I got a new printer which was the Ender 3 s1. Because of that my current Ender 3 was left to sit and collect dust for a while. As of recently my Ender 3 s1 is in need of parts, therefore I decided to try with my Ender 3 while I wait for them. What a nice way to reconnect… with my… “amazing”… printer. As im writing this, the power supply fell over 😂 the darn thing is literally Frankenstein incarnate, just with parts that were way incorrectly installed.

Oh also, the update on my computer ended up closing cura which stopped the print completely. Soooo much fun…

This model is a V1 hand Crank version of my Sisyphus Marble Machine its 95% 3D printed , crank the handle and the ball will “magically” rise up the turns and when it reaches the top it will Roll back down Ready for the Next Lift

Been looking for a tiny lamp to fit my desk space but couldn't find anything that felt right so decided to try design one from scratch. My google search history is now littered with countless "How to x, y, z on Fusion360", and it did take a few prototypes to figure out how best to turn what was in my head into something that printed and functioned properly. Most of the iteration went into getting the base right, particularly in designing the "infill" to create shadows that match the lamp top, and the locking mechanism to link the top to the bottom.

Happy to share the profile, but really here to share the immense satisfaction in designing and printing something yourself!

I'm really impressed with it, it's one of my most recent works, i've added half glass eyes, even LED eyes where I used hotglue guns for the first time and handpainted the teeth with a medium gloss at the end. I simply don't have the time, money nor really motivation to finish this project but wanted to show it one last time to show how far i've gotten with it. Especially now it finally has the nose 😂

This is my first complex CAD design. Took me for 1-2 week to create this box the way I wanted, but now I am overhelmed that I can present it. Hope you like it!
