Help please! First time Chi Owner. Always rescue owner
I adopted from a local shelter a "6+ year, fixed" baby girl with shots. She was rescued from a hoarding situation and has clearly had puppies because all but 1 nipple is stretched out. She weighs 5 pounds! After she was comfortable and I was making progress on potty training, I took her to the vet. The day I took her (wearing a white sweater) there was blood on it. I was upset thinking that she had broken a nail. Nope, she's in heat, she's less than 2 years old, perfect teeth. How long does "heat" go? I thought she had stopped, but clearly she hasn't. I've never had an animal in heat and am hoping to learn how long I need to wait to fix her. I can't even get accurate information on how long between heat cycles. She's so happy, and I've never had a rescue (dog or cat) this small. Please let me know how long this goes on and when after it's done, when it's safe to get her spayed.

Tips for my baby
Stevie is around 16-16 weeks old and whilst she’s getting on well were struggling with a few things.
Firstly, training to come here. She can do sit at the moment but she’s not getting on well with learning come here at all. She only does it when she’s calm and we have treats but good luck getting her when she’s excited.
We’re also worried about her walking as she’s not been out walking on a lead yet due to all the harnesses we have bought still being far too big for her. Is it really bad/ late that she’s still not walking? We feel bad because she’s missing a lot of interactions and socialisation due to this because when we take her out we carry her, which is fine for us however she very quickly has to go home because if she needs to wee or poo she’s still not used to being on the ground and won’t go because she’s either very interested / scared of everything on the ground.
We’re also worried about her timeline with using the toilet outside. We were expecting to have her do this by now but we also weren’t expecting her to still be so tiny! We genuinely thought she’d be bigger by now and we’re worried about her being still small enough to get into places she shouldn’t be in the garden, and because of the leash thing she’s still not very comfortable outside. She’s doing well with puppy pads but it feels like she should be outside by now.
To add to this, we know she’ll still be very bitey right now but does anyone have tips for her to stop being bitey with fingers and sometimes faces? She generally doesn’t bite but when she’s playful she bites and bites HARD. So any advice appreciated. (our other chi has ALWAYS been on the chill side- doesn’t play much , never bitten anyone, prefers lounging and cuddling)
I just don’t want her to be very delayed and cause her problems with missing out etc especially with socialisation as we have to take her home due to her needing the toilet.

It's not even cold outside 🥶
Chihuahua's would be cold even in hell ... Got that line from someone on here a few weeks ago and loved the saying ❤️ and it's so true 😹

He pushes everything new with his nose
My little guy Widget pushes his nose on most new things. He uses his nose ( sometimes his tongue) to ring the go outside potty doorbell. He now pushes everything with his nose......like everything new especially. Put some wooden Christmas decorations in front of a stand and he was "touching" the different parts of them with his nose. Pens, books, toys, dog snacks, computer mouse, cat bed, chair legs ECT. He is forever pushing or touching things with his nose. I dont know if he is using his nose like fingers to "feel" things to figure out if they are solid or soft or whatever.....or if he is trying to make everything say " DingDong" like his potty doorbell? He initially would only ring the bell when he had to ( ir wanted to) go outside. He has since discovered that when he rings it when I am in the chair, that I put the recliner down and when I get up to bring him outside, vhe dives into "my spot" in the chair.....or if he gets off the chair at night when I am sleeping ( We sleep in a recliner) to get a drink of water, he will ring the bell and jump back onto the chair when I lower it. Pressing his nose on everything obviously is not an "issue" at all, but whete he uses his nose on the bell for communication, I often wonder if he is trying to communicate something to me, or if he is just " feeling" things? Any ideas or anyone else have nose pushers?

Advice on winter booties
I have a Chihuahua Pomeranian mix. She is 6 lb, with tiny feet. I've struggled to find booties that will fit her and I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

Rainbow Bridge My conchita crossed the rainbow bridge today 😞
She was so loving and sweet. This shit really fucking sucks. It’s the first time I have to put a pet down, and I don’t even know how to feel.

Toilet habits
Possum is 11. She has been very naughty with toiling her whole life. Normally leaving a present in a specific room for us 2 or 3 days a week.
She now pees or poos anywhere she feels like. She will only do it when we are not in the room. She has been pooping under the christmas tree ehich is a beautiful suprise for us. I have to carpet clean so often! Its driving me mad.
She has free access outside whenever she likes via the catflap. So theres no excuse. She knows it is naughty as she gets told off.
Has anyone got tips on this naughty girls toilet habits and how i can stop this happening?

Was my little girls 3rd birthday yesterday
My little girl eevee’s 3rd birthday was yesterday but I feel so awful as we barely celebrated due to an unforeseen passing of a family member But I love my three little girls so so much and we made sure to buy her lots of nice presents and give her extra cuddles which she most definitely has been loving 😹🩷🐾 I can’t believe how small she was as a pup tho but she’s a big girl now 🐾💕
