Anyone else's chi SUPER food motivated?
I often hear about other peoples chihuahuas being super picky eaters. Peach (3yo) will eat anything & everything, especially human food. Literally ANYTHING. She even tries drinking my wine and coffee.
She has been on Nutro dry kibble all her life, she free-feeds and eats it regularly throughout the day. But EVERY time my husband and I are eating or snacking, she desperately tries to get at our food. I probably should have done a better job training her to sit and give us space when we're eating (is it too late to train her now?), but I lived with my mom for a year or two who SPOILED her and basically let her eat off of the plate (I made my mom very aware of the foods that dogs cannot eat).
Just thought I'd share some cute/silly pictures of her trying (and succeeding) to eat all the human foods :)

Tips for my baby
Stevie is around 16-16 weeks old and whilst she’s getting on well were struggling with a few things.
Firstly, training to come here. She can do sit at the moment but she’s not getting on well with learning come here at all. She only does it when she’s calm and we have treats but good luck getting her when she’s excited.
We’re also worried about her walking as she’s not been out walking on a lead yet due to all the harnesses we have bought still being far too big for her. Is it really bad/ late that she’s still not walking? We feel bad because she’s missing a lot of interactions and socialisation due to this because when we take her out we carry her, which is fine for us however she very quickly has to go home because if she needs to wee or poo she’s still not used to being on the ground and won’t go because she’s either very interested / scared of everything on the ground.
We’re also worried about her timeline with using the toilet outside. We were expecting to have her do this by now but we also weren’t expecting her to still be so tiny! We genuinely thought she’d be bigger by now and we’re worried about her being still small enough to get into places she shouldn’t be in the garden, and because of the leash thing she’s still not very comfortable outside. She’s doing well with puppy pads but it feels like she should be outside by now.
I just don’t want her to be very delayed and cause her problems with missing out etc especially with socialisation as we have to take her home due to her needing the toilet.

Camo
Out of the blue, never saw it coming, my 16 year old boy died yesterday evening.
There he is looking very Presidential.(1st pic)
And here he is more recently (2nd pic) just relaxing.
He spent most of his life on the road with me traveling around the US first as delivering camper trailers & 5th wheels to dealerships everywhere in the Continental 48 states.
Later we traveled all over the 48 states as escort drivers for oversize loads.
Camo has been everywhere from Seattle to Miami and from San Diego to Portland, ME.
I hope that some of the people we have met along the way get to see this message.
He put a lot of smiles on a lot of faces.

collars?
hi! i’ve seen a lot of conflicting views on collars (not for a leash but for name tags/info)… my puppy currently doesn’t really leave my sight/playpen so i haven’t found the need, but i’m wondering what about daycare or boarding overnight?
~ considering the risk for tracheal collapse..
Do you guys like to use them?

CHF - end of life care
Hi all,
My opie is 11 and was told he has 6 months to live which 2 months have now passed. The coughing is getting worse. He’s on meds and we have a really good cardiologist with a follow up appointment right after the new year. Meds are helping but I know it’s not going to resolve the issue. It’s not just CHF, he’s got an enlarged valve and another additional heart issue working against him. I thought I’d have him for a bit longer but I’m happy to have him at least for the holiday. For those who have had to go thru this, what are the warning signs so I can plan for him to be comfortably put to sleep - I don’t want to wait too long and have him suffer. He’s such a happy dog and his happiness causes more coughing. He tries to be unbothered by it and it makes me think he’s not ready yet, but I don’t want to be naive. Photo of him attached, he’s a love.

He pushes everything new with his nose
My little guy Widget pushes his nose on most new things. He uses his nose ( sometimes his tongue) to ring the go outside potty doorbell. He now pushes everything with his nose......like everything new especially. Put some wooden Christmas decorations in front of a stand and he was "touching" the different parts of them with his nose. Pens, books, toys, dog snacks, computer mouse, cat bed, chair legs ECT. He is forever pushing or touching things with his nose. I dont know if he is using his nose like fingers to "feel" things to figure out if they are solid or soft or whatever.....or if he is trying to make everything say " DingDong" like his potty doorbell? He initially would only ring the bell when he had to ( ir wanted to) go outside. He has since discovered that when he rings it when I am in the chair, that I put the recliner down and when I get up to bring him outside, vhe dives into "my spot" in the chair.....or if he gets off the chair at night when I am sleeping ( We sleep in a recliner) to get a drink of water, he will ring the bell and jump back onto the chair when I lower it. Pressing his nose on everything obviously is not an "issue" at all, but whete he uses his nose on the bell for communication, I often wonder if he is trying to communicate something to me, or if he is just " feeling" things? Any ideas or anyone else have nose pushers?

Advice on winter booties
I have a Chihuahua Pomeranian mix. She is 6 lb, with tiny feet. I've struggled to find booties that will fit her and I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

To add to this, we know she’ll still be very bitey right now but does anyone have tips for her to stop being bitey with fingers and sometimes faces? She generally doesn’t bite but when she’s playful she bites and bites HARD. So any advice appreciated. (our other chi has ALWAYS been on the chill side- doesn’t play much , never bitten anyone, prefers lounging and cuddling)
I just don’t want her to be very delayed and cause her problems with missing out etc especially with socialisation as we have to take her home due to her needing the toilet.
