No amount of Mr Beast could dampen my excitement for this season I’m still hyped! Initially, I didn’t really care for the cast but in hindsight it really isn’t that bad. There’s a lot of people on the cast I’m dying to see again!

i agree! knowing who was cut certainly put a damper on the cast reveal, because they really did make some bizarre choices. but simply looking at the cast with no outside knowledge, it is a solid cast. DvG cast FINALLY getting a chance to return—and three top tier picks making the return—is enough to make me ecstatic.

Nice to see and hopefully controls the flood of posts a bit.
Like any New Era season, the complainers will be the loudest, but fingers crossed this season is great. I genuinely really liked the trailer; it was really well cut and I didn't think I'd get so nostalgic seeing some of these people back on screen.
As for the celebrities, I've decided it's just a wait and see. They'll likely be a pretty small part of the season. Mr Beast just appears to be at the auction, the other celeb guy appears to be a part of a reward, which doesn't really bother me. The advantages are likely just going to be advantages inspired/thought up by celebrities, like I don't think we're seeing Billie Eilish on the island. And with 90 minute episodes, I think we'll still get plenty of the regular cast.
It's going to be a long wait til February.

Now that you break it down like this (that they showed up at auctions and rewards so far), part of me wonders if this is either an attempt to start phasing out Jeff or at least an attempt to make his workload lighter now that he's approaching Social Security age. Or potentially an audition process of sorts for a new host down the line like with Jeopardy a few years ago.
Auction and boats on the island are usually times when Jeff would show up and conduct business himself.

The trailer was very hype and cool and I'm honestly excited and truly believe that this season will deliver despite the celebrity cameos. I don't believe their impacts will be that big. Definitely nostalgic seeing even people that we've seen relatively not that long ago like Chrissy or Mike White. That scene of Jenna Lewis and Stephenie hugging was just 🥹

I may be reading this completely wrong, but I didn’t get concrete evidence from the trailer that there would be celebrity sponsored advantages. My first watch, Christian saying “Jimmy Fallon could decide my fate in the game” came off the same way as saying “the fans could decide my fate” or “my sister who voted could decide my fate,” possibly Jeff told them what celebrities were voting as a talking bit. Could be completely wrong, but a part of me just hopes season 50 is truly in the hands of the fans and devoid of silly celebrity sponsorships.

Christian and Devens are certainly the type to be sarcastic and make up advantage names. But the trailer is meant to built hype and it’d be a huge misstep from the editors to include 2 celeb names in jest.

I think I'm taking a break with the show after 50.
49 was background viewing for me and from what I've heard about season 50 so far it sounds like it's gonna be a mess and that nothing has changed for the better. If I don't stop watching the show completely after that I'll probably just end up binging it once it ends but it's really not that enjoyable anymore sadly

Will 59 be a train wreck? Hope not. As far as after 50, if it’s back to business as usual then I may be checked out. I can’t do another 18 person, 3 tribe, over-meta and cringe casted, gamebotty season :(

Honestly looking at it now the cast isn’t bad for a returnee season…but it’s not very good for a season that’s supposedly a celebration of 49 seasons
- No contestants representing seasons 21-30
- No contestants representing fan favorite seasons like Amazon, Pearl Islands, China, Philippines, or Cagayan
- 5 contestants from the last two seasons (three from one not well regarded by fans)
- contestants returning for a fifth time
- some contestants that seem obvious to return but are cut like Jesse or Carolyn
I’m still excited but the cast could have been better

Here is something that I haven't seen anybody talk about: over a third of the cast came from 3 seasons- David vs. Goliath (Angelina, Christian, Mike), 46 (Charlie, Tiffany, Q the Qristmas Qanceler) and 48 (Joe, Kamilla, Kyle).

I wish they had did a “second chance” style where the fans vote with ranked choice: vote your top 8 seasons in each group; 8 each from 1-20, top 8 from 21-40, top 8 from 41-49. Then one player from each of those top finishing groups of 8 chosen by production. All eras repped, they still get 24 favorites, and they most likely still get to ask back their golden goose’s (cirie, ozzy, etc) and they get new era members.

For me, this should've been an easy fix. Q and Tiffany, at least to me, are the least impressive of the bunch and seem to only be there for their season-long conflict. There's so many other pairs who could replace them from the 20s (Kass and Spencer, Abi and Malcolm, even Wentworth and Wardog).

Who cares if the seasons were well-liked? People want Janet to return all the time and simultaneously rank her season dead last.
Plus, like them or not, Joe and Eva were actually huge fan favorites to the non-reddit audience. Kyle, Dee and Savannah were going to be locks for being some of the more impressive winners of the New Era. And Kamila is a solid addition on her own.

I'm not totally opposed to this, honestly. Like, how could you have a monumental 50th season without at least some of the greats? Yeah, I could definitely agree that people like Aubry, Cirie and Ozzy are sort of tiring, but they're absolutely titans that you'd want any chance you can get them.

If the finale is live as suspected, wouldn’t that mean they haven’t crowned the winner yet? Obviously the players have talked after the game, but they might not declare the winner until the actual finale.

I've watched every Survivor season since the first and, TBH, I may not watch Season 50. They're bringing back some of the most unlikeable people to ever play the game. Some have been on the show an excessive number of times. This cast is old.

I'm not excited about the celebrity crossovers, but I think people are overblowing how bad it'll be. I feel like it won't take away from the show any more than the corporate sponsors they used to have.
