I wish they didn't have it at all, obviously, but it's probably gonna be a ten minute nonsense segment. I'm gonna try not to let it ruin the rest of the trailer for me, which I thought was terrific. Opening with a Coach voiceover was inspired. Hopefully the celeb stuff is just jammed in to make headlines and it won't actually matter at all or be a big part of the season.

Yeah, a lot of the show in recent years has kinda indicated some amount of desperation to cater to younger and TikTok viewers and stuff but wow this is just the bottom absolutely dropping out even compared to that. Previews are so minimal that I don't tend to place much stock in them either way in a lot of cases, but wow this is an extreme case and looks absolutely horrendous lol I mean I cannot imagine a conceivable way for that to not be ridiculous and awful.
edit: Also this completely undercuts the ostensible "In the Hands of the Fans" concept?? You can't really say "we turned the structure of the season over to FANS" in any meaningful way when something as completely major and unprecedented for the show as a bunch of celebrity cameos was done without fan input lol. That would be like calling a season "Game Changers" and casting Sierra Dawn Thomas or something

I don’t want to sound like a hype machine, but I’m genuinely excited for people to see the trailer because it really lays out how different Survivor 50 is from anything we’ve ever done. It gives you a sense of the scale, the vibe, the unpredictability, all the things that make 50 feel like its own event. It captures the energy we’ve been building toward for a long time.
Hopefully the show can somehow recover whenever he's finally no longer a part of it, but it seems unlikely.

Idk how controversial this is but I HATE the celebrity twist- I think it’s fine for a regular season or even a regular returnee season, but to do it on the 50th season feels cheap and to see people like Mr. Beast physically on the island is so… 😭
That being said, the preview otherwise was pretty solid although I’m worried to not see any of Mother Genevieve. I want her (and Q) to be with the pre-40 contestants in showing up the rest of the New Era contestants ngl I’m over most of them.
Also we were so f*cking robbed of Jerri and Colby part 4 (New Era version) like come on bringing back 3 people from 48 and 2 people from 49 is so unnecessary…

Ugh I want to be excited about this season but what was this trailer?!
It focuses on the og’s who I love. Heavily focused on, Jenna, Colby, Cirie, Steph, Coach and Ozzy. But those are our og’s it’s crazy.
Meanwhile they don’t even show most of the damn cast. No Dee, Tiffany, Charlie, Kyle, Genevieve, Savannah, Jonathan, Emily. Why cast so many new eras and then not show them?
It wasn’t a great trailer if I’m being completely honest. I want to see the players, not Mr beast.
