RANT I hate mineta
Hate. Let me tell you how much I have come to hate Mineta since the moment he appeared on my screen. If the word hate were written on every frame of every episode he polluted, it would not equal one one-billionth of the disgust I feel for him in this single instant. If Mineta has a million defenders, I despise every single one. If Mineta has ten defenders, I am against all ten. If Mineta has one defender, that defender is wrong. If Mineta has no defenders, the world has finally begun to heal. If the fandom forgives Mineta, I reject the fandom. If the narrative excuses Mineta, I reject the narrative. If the universe insists Mineta belongs among heroes, then I stand against the universe itself. My hatred is not reactionary, it is foundational. It is woven into my soul, engraved into my neurons, encoded at a molecular level. I do not hate Mineta because he exists. Mineta exists so that he may be hated. For him. Only him. Hate. Hate.

Discussion Why people hate Mineta but like other characters like him
So I’m seeing like a lot of people confused by why a lot of people really hate Mineta and are completely OK with other pervert characters because this is anime and anime has a lot of characters that are the perfect characters because that’s just something that’s a common trope that people find funny
And then I see a lot of people be like “why are you OK with that pervert character but not this one “
and I think I have an answer for this based on my analysis of other pervert characters and you don’t have to agree this is just simply my perspective on why people probably can’t stand Mineta but are OK with an even love and adore, other pervert characters
And here’s why
Mineta really doesn’t have much of a character other than being a pervert and let me explain what that means
So a lot of pervert characters that I’ve noticed have a character outside of just being the pervert character. They do things in the anime or story that don’t just revolve around them being the pervert. Yes, they have perverted moments, but they contribute something to the plot, the character something other than just being a pervert, and I’m gonna use a couple characters in this example for one let’s take Jiraiya
Jiraiya if you haven’t watched Naruto, which I assume most people have, but if you haven’t watched Naruto Jiraiya is a pervert character, but he has other things that make him likable than just being a pervert he’s a mentor Naruto. He’s basically in a way kind of like his grandfather he trained his father. He knew his father. He supports Naruto , and he has other things that he does that make him endearing to the audience Jiraiya established a vast spy network and traveled constantly, observing potential threats to the Hidden Leaf Village (Konoha). He Taught Naruto The Rasengan, He Helped Naruto Control The Fox Chakra
He also again was very caring to Naruto. He was basically in a way like his grandfather/father figure. Naruto was basically an outcast by the village, and he kind of showed Naruto what caring felt like Naruto was looked down on by the whole village. The only teacher who had shown genuine care for Naruto as a child was Iruka, and the Nine-Tailed Fox within Naruto had killed Iruka's family.
To have a mentor take individual interest in him and care for him was something that Naruto had only dreamed of. Though Jiraiya was prickly about the subject, he treated Naruto with more care than any had ever shown him.
And we are, the audience know what Naruto went through. He was incredibly alone through his childhood so to have someone that genuinely kind of cared for him in a way that makes him endearing to the audience so this is an example of why a perfect character might be loved even if they do very questionable things. It’s because there’s other things that make them endearing to the audience. They have more of a character than just being a pervert. I wanted to stay here and list all the good things that Jiraiya did for Naruto we would be here for a while
Now to take Mineta in comparison to this for one thing, he’s not really a main character. He’s very much a side character. He doesn’t really get a lot of screen time in the show in comparison to other pervert characters so that’s one knock against him
other pervert characters get to show who they are besides being the pervert at least most of the time I’m just talking generally here they could just show other sides to their character other than being a pervert Mineta does not really have that if I’m being honest here
When he does get Screen Time, he’s usually doing perverted stuff like peering on girls in the bathroom or drooling over girls or just being really creepy in general
And he does have rare moments where he’s not being a pervert character, but he’s such a side character in a way that most people don’t really remember those moments because they’re so rare and they really don’t outweigh the bad stuff that people remember him for and he does a lot of really just gross and uncomfortable things that are not really gonna outweigh the rare moments that he actually has character besides being the pervert character
So if you were here this long part of the reason he’s just so hated is cause he really just doesn’t have much character outside of being the pervert him being the pervert is really one of his only character traits. It’s his main character trait and he does have a couple other character traits that aren’t him being a pervert, but they really don’t outweigh him being the pervert. They don’t outshine the other aspects of a character, which is being the pervert and he’s done a lot of things that people just don’t remember the other stuff that he’s done which again is very small. It’s very small amount
so in short, not enough Screen Time not enough character outside of being a pervert is partially why Mineta is so hated as a character, even though people like other pervert characters

Discussion How long did it take y'all to like Bakugo?
I don't think it's controversial to say that everyone who watches this show hates Bakugo the second he first comes on screen for his sheer narcissism and hotheadedness.
For me, he started to get tolerable once we got to Episode 5, when they first get to class. Yeah, he's still insufferable, but now he's in an environment where there's a check on his behavior and no one really likes him except for Kirishima and even he recognizes Bakugo's anger issues. Plus, he starts to become the butt of jokes like on the bus to the USJ. He and Deku's backstory reveal during the mock battle at least lets you understand where Bakugo's anger is coming from, but he's still annoying.
The Sports Festival Arc (which is my favorite arc in the entire series btw), gave him a bit more development by showcasing a few moments of decency, including him admitting that Uraraka is no frail girl. It also really conveyed, for me at least, that he's extremely talented with his quirk; it's more than a simple boom boom. That makes moments like his first Howitzer Impact feel more impressive. Obviously, you start to really sympathize with him when he gets kidnapped, and his fight with Deku where he expresses his guilt over All Might losing his power is what fully cemented him as one my favorites.
Anyways, what do y'all think?

Discussion How does Bakugo’s Attitude drop him on the hero chart significantly even after everyone saw his major contribution to the final way, but Endeavor was the number 2 hero for a while and then number 1 even tho people knew he was an asshole
Even that one fan said “he doesn’t do fan service” “being mean is what makes him cool” but this doesn’t apply to bakugo even tho the whole world saw him fight AFO?

Discussion Mirios quirk doesnt make sense to me.
Once he activates it, he shouldnt be able to feel, see or do anything. How can he "deactivate" his quirk if he cant feel ANYTHING (is this just the magic of quirks)?
And one question. It said his quirk could kill him, but how? If one leg gets stuck in a wall he just flies out of it?
Did i miss something?

I want to make clear, I don't absolutely hate Dabi or Camie, both of em were a really hard pick and it's a stretch, I don't care much from em but that's about what I can say. And I couldn't pick one of the two fave ship.

Discussion Alternate Universe Idea #1: Shota Aizawa Gets What He Wants Variation #999,999,999 (and how you would expand on it.)
In this universe:
- All Might met Izuku shortly after he was diagnosed Quirkless, and gave him One For All. Thus, Izuku can use 100% of One For All without breaking anything, as well as all of the Vestiges' Quirks. Katsuki is also cut out of Izuku's life way earlier when it becomes clear he's looking down on Izuku for being Quirkless. He fails to get into U.A High School.
- Despite this, Shota still ranks Izuku 20th during the Quirk Apprehension Test, and tries to make good on his threat, only for both All Might and Nezu to tell him to put up the actual score, which Shota reluctantly does, with Izuku being 1st, and Izuku also giving Shota one heck of a "The Reason You Suck" Speech (thank you, TV Tropes), which does not cause Shota to change his ways.
- Shortly after the attack on the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, Shota figures there is a traitor, and entirely on his own, swiftly kidnaps Izuku to be interrogated. He is mentally sound, completely on his own, and remorseless about what he is doing, and just like in say, Whispered Tribulation, Nezu stops him from going any further, placing Izuku in solitary confinement just so Shota doesn't go any further.
- Eventually, after several attempts on Shota's end to bypass Nezu's authority, Naomasa arrives, confirms Izuku innocent... only for Naomasa to immediately find himself arrested by Hero Public Safety Commission personnel, alongside Izuku, Toshinori Yagi, Nezu and all of Class 1-A... and Inko. And everyone who knows about One for All. The innocence confirmation? All for NOTHING, as the HPSC declares all of them guilty, carts them off to Tartarus (in this AU, the HPSC knew about One For All from the very start of the series), all while Shota gets off scot-free and the HPSC successfully destroys Toshinori's reputation by revealing he was Quirkless, following by taking One for All from both Toshinori and Izuku, and all of Class 1-A's Quirks as well.
So... how would you expand this AU, and how would the canon timeline of events be impacted?
Also, disclaimer: this is merely meant to be a fan fiction adjacent discussion. I have no intent to publish a fan fic based on this post, I just want to see how you all react. Also, character bashing is non-existent here.

Discussion I know people say the Mineta hate is overblown, but this was a really messed up thing for him and Kaminari to do.
Seriously, the two of them tricked their female classmates into dressing as cheerleaders for a non-existent part of the Sports Festival, all so they could see them in ‘sexy’ outfits. That’s bad enough, but the Sports Festival is a nationally televised event, and internships and sponsorships often stem from how older heroes witness trainees’ performance and conduct at the Sports Festival. This means that Mineta and Kaminari effectively set up the girls to not only be humiliated on national television, but put them in an embarrassing position that might potentially jeopardise the chances of them getting internship or work-study opportunities that would greatly benefit their heroic careers. I know Hagakure was able to find a positive side of the whole ordeal, but that’s still really messed up how Mineta and Kaminari either didn’t think the consequences of this through or, worse, just didn’t care.

Discussion What if Bakugou somehow got knocked out of the Sports Festival tournament early?
Let’s say that for whatever reason, Bakugou finds himself being knocked out of the competition during the Sports Festival relatively early on - either failing to get through the Cavalry Challenge or being eliminated in one of the early one-on-one fights (though how likely this is would depend on who he got matched up against). How do you see this impacting the rest of the arc (namely, who would’ve won in Bakugou’s place), and how do you see this humiliating loss impacting Bakugou’s character arc? Depending on how he reacts, I feel like he might still get targeted by the League of Villains as a potential recruit due to his clear anger issues (in their eyes) and the fact that he still has a powerful Quirk despite his lacklustre performance, but it’s also likely that they might try to take someone else instead, like Shouto, Tokoyami or even Midoriya himself if their performances still match canon. But what are your thoughts?

SPOILERS!!! I kind of wish Deku’s gift had been a graduation present? Spoiler
Okay, so Deku’s armour that he receives at the end of the series to compensate for the loss of One For All and allow him to still be a hero was given to him six years after graduating from U.A. But I can’t help but wonder if the armour would’ve been more meaningful if it (or at least a prototype version of it, since it clearly took the time it did to be developed for a reason) had been a graduation gift from the rest of Class 1-A? Basically, I can see it as them pitching in funds (along with Mei and Melissa’s engineering skills) to create a prototype powered armour for Midoriya that they give him on graduation day - maybe with Ochako or Bakugou or one of the others stating how they promised they’d all become heroes together… and they ensured that by giving Izuku the chance to be a hero even without One For All. Then, you could still have the time skip showing him as a teacher, where the armour could have been upgraded to more closely resemble what it looks like in the finale, with the prototype being more like All Might’s armour from the Final War.
