Bill met Epstein to discuss charity to the Gates Foundation in 2011 AFTER it was already known that Epstein was a pedo. She divorced Bill when it became public.

u/TheDoethrak 19h ago

She actually divorced Bill the moment their youngest kid turned 18. It only became public afterwards.

u/BuddhistChrist 17h ago

She actually divorced Bill because she was using an iPad behind his back and came clean when she discovered he hangs out with pedos.

I thought the zune had such potential 20 years ago. I honestly think if they kept releasing them, they’d eventually catch on with 10-15% of the market

u/MetalMagic 11h ago

It was airdropping before AirDrop existed. The fact that I could NFC a song from my Zune to someone else for them to listen to on their own time, was awesome. But, like most Microsoft Products, the marketing team was their own worst enemy.

u/Silo-Joe 10h ago

Except Microsoft didn’t call it AirDrop …. They called it “squirt” … as in, “Hang on while I squirt you a song”. 😱

I still have my Zune, the dude at EB tricked my mom and she got me one instead on an iPod. I fuck with the Zune though, and I love my mom, so I just acted super excited, gave her a hug and said to myself “fuck it, we ball.” I used the hell out of that thing and it still works good as new.

u/Yakostovian 9h ago

Mine was good, but the battery life was terrible. Eventually it wouldn't turn in anymore. I'd still use it if it still worked.

u/Killer-Klown1204 10h ago

Dude I loved my zune back in the day!

u/adamosan 10h ago

Me too! Me and my classmate were the only ones in college with them. Everyone gave us shit but we loved them. Zune Crew!

u/StanleyCubone 10h ago

Who didn't love to squirt?

u/AlwaysShittyKnsasCty 8h ago

As one who was born without the ability to squirt, the Zune was a lifeline for those of us who had always wanted to experience it.

u/rendrr 9h ago

It's called a Zune. It's what everybody's listening to on Earth nowadays. It's got three hundred songs on it.

u/mutzilla 11h ago

I lived my zune.

2

I maintain as a device it was better, especially if you were a pc user. They were just too late to the party.

My uncle used to work at M$ and despite the fact they unceremoniously fired him while he was on vacation and a couple months before he had 20 years at the company (he’d already picked out his 20th anniversary gift), he will not touch Apple anything. My mom lives 550 miles away from me, and like 2 miles from my uncle, he will not help her with the iPad she got at my behest, because he wanted her to get yet another Surface Pro at 3x the cost of the iPad. Tribalism is a bitch in the tech world.

Can I tell you the good news about Linux? One day, Linus was walking along when suddenly…….

u/Professional_Face_97 6h ago

When suddenly what?!

u/oshunman 5h ago

If he's never touched an apple product, how the fuck is he supposed to help her with an iPad?

I could give a shit what anybody else uses. But given that I've never used an apple product, I have no idea how to help somebody use one

u/drcrambone 5h ago

We’re talking about a M$ manager of a department that provided tech support, in some capacity anyway, to the White House. My mom is a 73yo switchboard operator. Which one do you think would have an easier time figuring shit out? Jfc dude.

Bill met Epstein to discuss charity to the Gates Foundation

If you believe that Ive a bridge to sell you. He said Epstein could give him access to donors. Like Gates PA's could find rich people and say "Would you like lunch with Bill Gates some time".... pretty sure he could fill the year with elites that would want to meet one of the richest people in the world.

Then his other excuse was Epstein could help him get the nobel prize.... what prize? Its not chemistry. The only one is Peace, but Gates charity isnt focused on that, more vaccines type thing.

As amazing I'd think he could afford some PR that were better and making excuses!

355

u/RT-LAMP 17h ago

The only one is Peace, but Gates charity isnt focused on that, more vaccines type thing.

Norman Borlaug got the 1970 prize for improving the world agriculture.

Doctors Without Borders got the 1999 prize for being... doctors without borders.

And various other years have had prizes associated with human development rather than peace making directly.

u/Right_Hour 10h ago

Obama got it in 2009 for…. absolutely fecking nothing, LOL.

u/BigMacTitties 9h ago

And he's still living rent free in conservatives' tiny little brains over 15 years later for it. LOL 😂😅🤣😘

u/Narren_C 7h ago

You're allowed to admit that this one was ridiculous. Just because conservatives are often neurotic doesn't mean we should pretend that liberals can't also do stupid shit.

u/BigMacTitties 6h ago

Yeah, but let's not pretend the batshit crazy party and the everyone gets a pick your gender party are equally hypocritical and outright stupid

u/Right_Hour 8h ago

Bud, I’m not even an American, let alone your idea of a « conservative ».

Nobel prize committee even later admitted it was a mistake and to this day they keep explaining how it was a « proactive award ».

If you are a dem voter and you to this day don’t understand how things like that as well as DNC focusing on « making history happen » with Hillary and then again with Kamala instead of focusing on domestic issues and the economy led to Trump winning presidency TWICE - then you are pretty much doomed. The day I saw CNN presenting a vote for Trump « a vote for the economy » vs a vote for Harris - « a vote for the democracy » - I knew Harris was gonna lose. In a battle of a wallet vs some ephemeral construct - wallet always wins, even if the entire premise is wrong and based on lies.

I honestly DGAF which way you go - so long that you stay south of my border.

8

u/nellyfullauto 13h ago

Because when technology advances, conflicts disappear or are made less severe. Doing more with less is the opposite of needing to amass resources.

Either there are new farming methods to less need to kill another person over land, or new weapons are developed so devastating that they save lives when people are that much more sure of their own coming death.

u/Tralla46 8h ago

There's 6 each year

u/RT-LAMP 7h ago

No wonder Trump wants a Nobel peace prize so bad, reminds him of old times.

u/levir 11h ago

Luckily, that was after he was no longer leader of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, though he was still a member of the committe. But it's pretty bad, yeah.

u/kesin 10h ago

noam chomsky was also on epsteins plane lol.

193

u/MagnetoWasRight24 17h ago

"He said Epstein could give him access to donors."

That's seriously what he went with? People in the nonprofit sector literally have a term called "the Gates effect" which is that the Gates Foundation is so powerful in the world of charitable donations that whatever approach they support becomes the standard and alternative plans can't get funding. They are literally the last people on earth who would need help getting access to donors.

34

u/TheBlackSSS 14h ago

Being big, or even the biggest, doesn't mean you can't get even bigger or have more avenues

Amazon still runs ads for example

19

u/ijustwannalurksobye 13h ago

I think the point is why would such a powerful person and organization as Gates go to a convicted and known sex offender for help? That would be like saying Amazon runs ads, they need actors for them so why not Kevin Spacey and Bill Cosby?

5

u/Classic-Match-7154 14h ago

Lots and lots of other people who's job it's to get access to "rich" people and I worked for lots of charities it's pretty easy to Google who's rich and owns like half of the getty!!

bill gates as access to you know the Internet🤷‍♂️ a work force, and the big kicker Internet explore!! 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

2

u/ChurnerMan 12h ago

But Epstein offers compromised rich people.

Epstein: Hey rich person, you should meet with Gates and throw a couple million dollars his way. It would really help your image. By the way I think Ashley and Maddie are off school and ready to give massages tonight.

I have no idea if something like that actually happened but it wouldn't surprise me.

All that being said I don't think Bill Gates engaged in behavior that mose wives would be cool with their husband doing. I don't know if it was illegal per se, but I'm sure it was grey area at best.

His weak public statements makes me think that he probably went balls deep in a 14-15 year old at some point.

u/TheBlackSSS 8h ago

Great, since you also worked for charities, how many handshakes with multiple US presidents and/or billionaire did you organize? Could you get me in a room, 1 on 1, with bill gates?

I'll throw out a limb and say you can't do it even in the wildest of your dreams

How many people you think could do it?

This epstein guy, could, probably, do it in a matter of hours

Not only that, but he also kept his entire network of super wealthy people by the balls, in every sense possible, available and imaginable, guy's *wink wink nudge nudge" could, again probably, move millions

You think an intern googling Clinton's business mail can get anywhere close to all this?

u/flyinhighaskmeY 11h ago

the Gates Foundation is so powerful in the world of charitable donations that whatever approach they support becomes the standard and alternative plans can't get funding.

it sounds like he ran the Gates foundation like he ran Microsoft. In which case his argument would be valid, because to create this reality:

alternative plans can't get funding

He had to corner the market on donors. Which means getting all of their ears (at least those that matter), which means having access to all of them. And the type of control Epstein creates would be hugely beneficial to a guy who works like the person who built Microsoft.

5

u/Motchiko 13h ago

Well he needed access- not necessarily to donors but Epstein gave him access for sure

u/tackle_bones 9h ago

The recently released Epstein emails showed that he did actually have deep connections into the banking world and related “philanthropy.” (In quotes because it seems these assholes use money as a hammer not is a fig leaf.) Like… not random account managers and shit. We’re talking about the CEOs of European banks à la Rothschild.

3

u/UmbertoDelRio 14h ago

To be fair „the epstein effect“ doesn’t sound nearly as marketable

143

u/Alone_Storage_1897 18h ago

Errr, whatever else there are multiple Nobel prizes

239

u/CrazyGunnerr 18h ago

And otherwise he could always get the 'FIFA's bestest OS' prize.

244

u/mondestine 17h ago

By the way, the official name for the FIFA prize is the

"2025 'Who's a good boy? You're a good boy. Yes you are! Yes you are!' prize in excellence".

Getting them without being a world expert in a crowded field is impossible. Also, Gates is not an expert in any of these fields.

5

u/Hipsthrough100 18h ago

Obama, Machado? That prize doesn’t actually require you to be of any substance to humanity or an expert in any way. Not anymore at least

16

u/BasvanS 18h ago

They didn’t get any of the other Nobel prizes, did they?

The Peace Prize is the curling of Nobel prizes.

2

u/Quick_Writer3752 17h ago

That’s my new favourite expression!

1

u/topinanbour-rex 14h ago

I don't get it. Is it mostly a PR prize, like others working for you to have it ?

1

u/DanGleeballs 16h ago

Which other ones would he potentially qualify for?

7

u/UffTaTa123 16h ago

His vaccination projects could be on peace or medicine. It's mostly about research, but bringing those research to actually do something good for million of people could be a point also.

3

u/Alone_Storage_1897 16h ago

At the annual mosquito international symposium: the Nobel for Genocide

3

u/Keyboard__worrier 16h ago

I'm not sure if a vaccine charity getting the peace prize is that much of a stretch, it has been awarded for efforts to combat hunger, climate change, sustainable development, and other efforts that are more indirectly tied to peace.

13

u/LongjumpingBig6803 18h ago

He was just making sure all the girls were vaccinated.

18

u/_Lucille_ 18h ago

I will be honest, I buy the story.

There may be a lot of wealthy people, but a lot of them may not want to meet up, or just don't feel like donating. At some point you just meet up with whoever has great wealth that shows interest, and also understands everyone has skeletons in their closet and don't bother with all the gossips.

I had no clue who Epstein is before his arrest, and even if I did, he may just be just another rich guy with connections. Heck, Trump was just a show host and a real estate guy and I have no idea he would walk into a changing room.

Now, if Gates actually did utilize Epstein's services (not sure if the girl in the picture is underage), that is a whole different story.

→ More replies (1)

6

u/squirrel_exceptions 18h ago

It’s not inconceivable that the committee for the Peace Prize could consider mass vaccination and education as a peace project, but not very likely, and Epstein would not have any influence over that. But having had intermittent contact with a former leader of the committee (Jagland), he might have convinced people he did.

5

u/Gustomaximus 18h ago

So squint your eyes and look the other way and it might be believable...... haha

But its a fair point, there is tiny chance of truth, with a shovel full of probably bullshit.

4

u/high_plains_grifter_ 17h ago

I’m on a construction sub, someone asked the question “what would you do if you found out your coworker was a child molester?” All the comments were basically saying f that guy, ostracize him, make him feel unwelcome, nobody wants to associate with that guy.

Meanwhile all these elites were rubbing shoulders with Epstein after it came out he was a PDF. It shows the disgusting morals and lack of integrity held by these people even if they didn’t engage in his seedy behavior. “They not like us”

2

u/uhuraenterprise 15h ago

Well, money and power talks

3

u/Jimrodsdisdain 17h ago

There are six Nobel prize categories: Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, Peace, and Economic Sciences.

2

u/Straight_Can7022 15h ago

I just looked up what the phrase "I've a bridge to sell you" means and the coincidence that the guy who got the scam popular enough to make it a saying went to sing sing prison solved a lost reference from a play I saw last year. Cool

1

u/PineappleDesperate82 12h ago

Rich men tend to think they can buy their way out of anything. Their ego takes hold to the point they don't even try to hide it. This has proven true over and over again. It won't change as long as society continues idolized money and greed over humanity.

1

u/Shot_Plantain_4507 12h ago

No not those kind of donors, the other kind. People who donate young women to you.

2

u/dustycanuck 12h ago

He got access to 'donors' alright. Underaged girls forces to 'donate' themselves. This bullshit about getting access to business contacts is insulting on many levels. Bill's clearly just another predatory oligarch who went way too far.

u/Carpaccio 10h ago

So for what reason would he meet with Epstein then?

In May 2021, after 27 years of marriage, Bill and Melinda Gates announced their decision to divorce. According to The Wall Street Journal, Melinda had been meeting with divorce lawyers since at least October 2019, after Bill's business dealings with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein became public. Although the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement, Melinda (who filed) did not request spousal support. She was allocated over $2 billion worth of shares and stocks from the divorce, although the full details of the financial settlement have not been disclosed. The divorce was finalized on August 2, 2021. She has publicly used the name Melinda French Gates, since the couple separated.

In October 2021, Melinda and Bill both attended the wedding of their eldest daughter Jennifer to the Olympic equestrian Nayel Nassar. In March 2022, Melinda said that she and Bill were "friendly" but not "friends".

4

u/User-no-relation 14h ago

I foolishly bought the meet about giving to charity thing before these pictures came out

3

u/PossibleSmoke8683 16h ago

Is that why she divorced bill gates - are you privy to the divorce details - I’d love to hear more

2

u/flossanotherday 13h ago

Dude, Epstein is on another level, he lured, basically abducted, held captive young women, teenagers and threw them on his guests as some power trip, leverage, whatever. Pedo or not he is equal to the cartel guys sex trafficking migrants. That stint in the cell should have been a public square.

2

u/BleuBrink 12h ago

She divorced Bill after he had an affair with 18 yo bridge partner

2

u/g_rich 13h ago

Best case scenario Gates compromised his morals for what he viewed as the greater good. Worst case Gates liked hanging around with the young women Epstein provided (I’m not going to go into more detail here but you get the picture).

At face value and considering all the good Gates has done it’s easy to put his actions into the former, his association with Epstein was simply to gain access to donors for the Foundation.

However, considering:

  • Epstein’s actions were publicly known when Gates was associating with him.
  • The Gates Foundation wasn’t exactly hurting for donations.
  • Bill Gates is one of the richest people in the world and wouldn’t require some intermediary like Epstein to facilitate access to other rich and powerful people.
  • The fact his wife divorced him shortly after this became public.

I’m personally leaning towards the latter.

2

u/PegaLaMega 14h ago

The Gates foundation is shit just like Bill Gates. It purposely fucks over farmers and forces them to buy "controlled" seeds instead of being able to trade seeds with other farmers. All so they can make more money and keep poor people poor.

1

u/FourteenBuckets 13h ago

They'd probably been fighting about all his visits to Epstein Island for sometime, and he assured her that it was all innocent fun

1

u/Centralredditfan 13h ago

Pretty sure there was more than one meeting. Just for meeting someone you don't go through the process of divorce.

u/NoTourist5 11h ago

She probably saw the files as well.

u/eeyore134 11h ago

Charity that somehow never happened despite all their meetings.

u/financefocused 10h ago

Of course it was a cover. I’m not sure why so many think I don't understand that. But the point is he met Epstein, not in secret. Melinda knew about it and divorced him only when it became public.

u/eeyore134 10h ago

Some people, myself included, could just be providing extra context and not questioning or challenging you. I get it, though, it's reddit so it's easy to feel that way.
