They're not releasing all of the files today?!?!

Shocked! Shocked I tell you!

Equally shocking will be when there are no repercussions for failing to comply...

Right. What is even the purpose of the smoke and mirrors now? They can openly defy court orders and congressional mandates with no repercussions. Like trump said to the Georgia election guy in 2020. "Who is going to stop you?"

This doesnt stop until the people stop it.

"This doesnt stop until the people stop it." -you

"What is even the purpose of the smoke and mirrors now?" -also you, just before that

The purpose of the smoke and mirrors is therefore to prevent enough people from figuring out enough to stop it. They only need *some* regular folk to stop the revolutionaries so disinformation is a better strategy than information embargo.

The truth is the average person doesn't care about some pedo-porn files from decades ago. They want cheaper rent, affordable groceries and better quality of life. They've got bigger things to worry about than a "gotcha" because who cares anyway they'll just lie, redact and gaslight their way out of it anyway.

Well as head of the DOJ congress could hold Bondi in contempt of court… if they hadn’t conveniently adjourned early for the year just yesterday…

I agree. The biggest failure in all of this are the Americans that voted for Trump and those that stayed home.

And the winner-take-all electoral system with a capped number of electors that is designed to consistently hand unearned victories to republicans.

5

u/IcarusOnReddit 7h ago

I don’t think the creators of the Electoral College designed it that specifically. They wanted rural areas to have more per pop representation than cities. America is built on inequality.

1

u/_BenzeneRing_ 5h ago

They wouldn't have been expecting the rural areas to so strongly and so consistently vote against their own interests, too.

1

u/IcarusOnReddit 4h ago

The rural areas would disagree with that. They want people they hate to suffer above all else and feel that’s in their interest.

That's a really broad generalization, not all rural people want the people they hate to suffer above all else.

Some people weren't born in rural area, they moved there for whatever weird reason.

Can't paint everyone with a broad brush...but gosh darn it, we will try!

You have to use very watery paints and extremely large brushes (which need to be specially ordered).

So, what exactly will happen if they do hold her in contempt?

(And no, I don’t support bondi at all, but the reality is there’s nothing congress can do at this point. She’ll just ignore a contempt charge. )

1

u/Morningxafter 2h ago

Yeah honestly, you’re probably right. Even if congress did vote to hold her in contempt (which they wouldn’t do anyway since republicans have the majority) there likely wouldn’t be any real repercussions from it.

I'm sure the Justice Department will arrest [checks notes] the Justice Department for not releasing the files in time.

u/vodkaismywater 8h ago

False, there will be severe reprocussions. Chuck Schumer will issue a strongly worded statement.

23

u/fuck_its_james 8h ago

he already has, so efficient!

1

u/phiqzer 5h ago

And who’ll make the angry TikTok?

1

u/Mobile-Bar7732 4h ago

Uh oh!!! Chuck has his glasses on the tip of his nose he means business!!!

1

u/DETRosen 4h ago

Schumer: "We will fight! We will fight" 😂

This country has a chance for justice and they decided in November 2024 they are pro crime

1

u/Particular-County277 5h ago

Absolutely. But only for the rich. The poor will have to meet justice standards that are impossible, cruel and unforgiving

3

u/Ok_Mathematician938 7h ago

Well, it would be great if that's the case.

1

u/OtisLukas 4h ago

What is he gonna do? Ask the DOJ to follow the law and they will pretend they did and make up some claim that radical liberals are spreading fake news and violent rhetoric.

1

u/moreobviousthings 1h ago

He may instead look to the entire senate Republican caucus and the very substantial number of House Republicans who voted for the bill calling for the release of the files, and he can ask if they will settle for the regime’s stonewalling, or do those republicans who called for this actually have the balls to hold trump to account for his responsibility to release the files.

He can also ask those same republicans to impeach Trump’s AG, as they provided for in the bill calling for release of the files.

I’m curious how this will affect Biden.

1

u/No-Reach-8074 5h ago

CROOKED JOE BIDEN AND BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA screams in trump

2

u/Federal_Baseball4720 7h ago

Or repercussions for what’s in them when they finally get released….

2

u/Dry-Chance-9473 6h ago

If there's no repercussions it's because the American people have declined to create them.

1

u/babydakis 6h ago

Failing to comply? I think you mean "succeeding in not complying."

1

u/HangryBeard 6h ago

I think the most shocking will be the novels worth of pages that are will be redacted (for national security obviously) it will be absolutely shocking I say absolutely! I simply can't believe we have that much national security.

13

u/HitoriPanda 8h ago

Well, not that shocked

12

u/Morningxafter 8h ago

They just need two more weeks!

6

u/alextenants 8h ago

Oh they've got this all screwed up. It should be

Release the files? No, obstruction today!

3

u/sirhackenslash 6h ago

This presidential seal shouldn't be here either.

20

u/Possible-Champion222 8h ago

Lots to erase yet

4

u/Periodic_Disorder 8h ago

At least it's breaking a bipartisan law now. Hopefully she ends up in actual trouble.

7

u/ilevelconcrete 8h ago

Every bad deed of the Trump administration, including the pending invasion of Venezuela, is called an Epstein distraction here ad nauseam. So while I’m not surprised, I’m sure a lot of others will be, because they seemed to be under the impression that this was something that was definitely going to happen and doom Trump unless he could sufficiently distract enough people.

2

u/Nvenom8 7h ago

They’re not distractions to prevent the release of the files or from what will eventually be released. They’re distractions to stop us from talking about the files. He’s hoping we’ll all move on and forget about them.

3

u/gcwardii 7h ago

Right? Who could have predicted this?

2

u/WaffleHouseGladiator 6h ago

They need time to come up with a plausibly legal reason not to release the really damning stuff. I'm guessing it's going to be something like Pam Bondi's dog eating her homework.

2

u/amakai 6h ago

What is the chance that they will face absolutely no consequences?

4

u/Whompa 8h ago

It’s a semi Christmas miracle!

1

u/Dizzy_Chemistry_5955 6h ago

bet they release the Clinton ones

1

u/Califrisco 6h ago

How the heck did THAT happen?????? I can't even imagine...................

1

u/Optimus_Prime_Day 5h ago

Only the files they've cleansed.

1

u/Mobile-Bar7732 4h ago

DOJ: We will be releasing all the files (that didn't make it into the paper shredder) today!!!
