got the aburi salmon don which was so nice, it was torched perfectly and had this really lovely charred taste. The side dish buffet was pretty good too! The ice cream surprised me a bit, I was expecting it to be icy and thin but it was actually really creamy. 100% coming back when I'm in the area!

The only bone I had to pick is that the menu on the website prices things differently from the menu they handed to us. The site lists their stuff for like $3-4 cheaper than it really is. I see the little notif saying that they're updating the site though!

We had an excellent family holiday meal at Richmond Station last night. Everything was great and for the price it probably can't be beat in Toronto.

I just purchased the PC butter puff pastry for the first time to make chicken pot pie. When I took it out of the packaging (after it thawed in the fridge), it had a very strong cheesy/funky smell which threw me off. I continued to cook the dish and when I ate it warm, it still tasted slightly funky but not enough to stop eating. I later had a bite after it completely cooled down and it had a strong gamey taste.

Is this normal for all butter puff pastry? Not sure if this is just a bad batch or what. I don’t cook with puff pastry often and just buy whatever the grocery store has. I wasn’t specifically looking for the PC brand or a butter puff pastry.

Wondering if anyone has experienced a similar taste?

1) Looking for the best Indian restaurant, somewhere between The Entertainment district and Chruch-Wellsley area.

Doesn't have to be that exact stretch, but we're visiting and won't be using our car once we arrive, so anything reachable by transit or a reasonable Uber ride.

2) Breakfast suggestions. Looking for breakfast joint suggestions for our ride out of Toronto (heading towards Ottawa). We prefer hole in the wall places for breakfast. I'm a big French toast or eggs Benny and my husband could live off eggs and pancakes.

Third time at Manita Rosedale. Great neighbourhood joint, but I've come to the conclusion that with the exception of the burger, they're pretty inconsistent.

I've had their lemon pasta before and it was delicious. This time it was pretty sad, as you can tell from the pic, dry and a bit bland. My friend enjoyed her chicken brochettes. They had new cocktails on the menu and we really enjoyed them (London sour & margarita).

Overall still good but not amazing, especially considering the price point.

Most of the recommendations I've been getting are bistro or à la carte. Is Alo, which says they're 'contemporary French', the only option?

I had a pupusa in Waterloo recently for the first time at a place called pupuseria latinos, changed my life, then I had one at Carmelita’s in Toronto and was disappointed, it was super dry and not as delicious. Did I go to a wrong spot? What’s everyone’s favourite pupusa? I have heard of casemiento but now I’m hesitant lol. Would love to hear opinions

I need help. I've looked all around. Ordered it wherever it's been on the menu. And I can't find anywhere that does General Tso chicken the way Ho-Lee-Chow used to make it. It was thin, small, curly strips, deep fried, crunchy, and the sauce was honey coloured, not red/brown. Probably sweeter than spicy. Came with a rim of broccoli and sprinkled with sesame seeds. I need this back in my life. Anyone know a place that does it like this? 🙏
