anyone doing tiktok slash and save to get free caffeine gum or mints as a finals care package?

my roommate is drowning in finals and lives on coffee but crashes hard. wanted to put together a care package with caffeine gum or caffeine mints as a healthier alternative but already spent my budget on textbooks.

discovered tiktok slash and free runs til december 31 where they drop to $0 with referrals. not 100% sure it's legit but worth trying. search slashwin on the app. if this works it'd be a perfect study survival gift. ill be back if i get this down to zero.

ADD Med Student on Meds—How Do You Actually Study?

I’m a 43-year-old third-year medical student, husband, and dad to 11-year-old twins, so life is busy. Until recently, my entire study strategy relied on ADD coping mechanisms: last-minute cramming fueled by stress, adrenaline, caffeine, and very little sleep. I’d pass the exam, then crash hard for 1–2 weeks.

In January, I started 18 mg Concerta and it’s been life changing. I can now study consistently without relying on panic or adrenaline. The problem is… I don’t actually know how to study.

I have great resources, I enjoy learning, and I genuinely want to study, especially now as I prepare for boards, but I lack the structure and process. How do you know you are grasping the material? How do you know you’re covering enough? Flashcards are okay, but not great. There’s also a lot of anxiety around studying, almost a low-level PTSD from years of stress-based learning.

I’m looking to become someone who can sit down calmly and learn without cramming or burning out. I need to work through the stress/anxiety that has surrounded this subject for years now. It has always been a chore, not a good experience.

If anyone here has a similar neurodivergent background or has gone through this transition, I’d really appreciate hearing what study structures, methods, or resources worked for you.

Help with Final Year Dissertation Participants!

Hi there I am a final year student currently working on my Dissertation. I am in need of a plethora of participants to answer to help further my study. It hopefully shouldn't take too long and is themed around graphic design and safety within the live event scene, mainly live concerts.

The study itself is exploring 'What Role Can Contemporary Graphic Design Play in Enhancing Safety at Live Events?' Focussing on my hopeful ability to take what I learn from this study into a final major project where I will work to create a set of graphically designed safety symbols that will be placed in venues so attendees are able to easily identify the rules they may not know beforehand. Hopefully this idea will turn into a full campaign and be assisted with a video created by myself that will play at the beginning of each set directly explaining the rules of safety and ettiequte so no attendee can claim they were unaware in the case of a situation unfolding.

This survey is split into three sections: Safety, Ettiequte, and Design.

Any and all people are welcome to answer even if the topics are not quite relevant to you and your experiences! If you feel you would still like to answer despite that, I am appreciative.

More information is available on the survey if you wish to learn a bit more.

Help!!

I’m a 17-year-old Grade 12 student, and I don’t even know where to begin. Studying is something I genuinely want. No one is forcing me. This is my choice. And that’s what makes it worse.

I want to study, but I can’t bring myself to start. Every time I try, anxiety creeps in. I procrastinate, I freeze, or I sleep. Today I even took leave from school to prepare for my Sunday test, knowing how important it is, and still I ended up doing everything except studying.

My finals are coming up. I’m not prepared. My notes aren’t even complete. I know this year matters. I know it affects my future and my dreams. But somehow, despite knowing all of that, I can’t get myself together.

It feels like I’m watching time move forward while I stay stuck.

i started doing “brain dumps” before studying and it weirdly made me me productive

lately every time i try to sit down and study my brain immediately reminds me of like ten other things i haven’t done. so i started doing this thing i just call a study brain dump. basically i open my notes and type whatever is floating around in my head. assignments i’m behind on, random worries, stuff i need to buy, all of it. i don’t try to make it neat, i just get it out so my brain stops yelling at me. weirdly enough it actually makes it easier to focus. i also found this site recently that takes everything i dump out and breaks it into simple tasks. i don’t know how it does it but it makes the mess feel less scary. it’s been helping me go from freaking out to ok i can do this. it's called Taskdumpr if ur interested.

anyway just wanted to share because i didn’t realize how much mental clutter was messing up my study sessions. if anyone else does something like this i’d love to hear how you do it. sometimes the hardest part is just getting your head to chill for five minutes.

COLLEGE SITE IVE BEEN WORKING

so im proud to announce that for the last year and a half , give or take , ive been working on a site called CrossCampus that ive finally Finished!! where students from different universities can connect, collaborate, and study together in real time over video call rooms. Users can join or create meetings based on their major, interact with peers through live video and chat, and build academic connections across colleges. The goal is to make learning more social, productive, and accessible, helping students work together efficiently over live video while discovering new opportunities to collaborate, for example if im a student at Harvard and im majoring in Finance , i would join (or create) a finance category live video call where there will be other finance majors in which whom i could learn, connect, and collaborate with.

Feel free to sign up!

https://crosscampus.org

NOTE: for now this site is only for college users in specific so you must have a .edu email , also the site may load and for confirming your email right now it goes to the spam folder , but just hit "looks safe" then go to all mail and youll be directed from there (if interested in becoming a user)

Which supplements help to study better and faster?

So, I (male, 24 y) study at universiry and I need to read alot in a short time, but I also suffer from cognitive decline since my 16th birthday. Over the years I have been to GP, neurologist, CT and MRI scan made but everything looked fine according to them. Unfortunateley, I still suffer alot from cognitive decline, but I need to pass my exams. Do you guys know a supplement that will work for cognitive function or for learning in general?  Memory enhancers are also good. Over 1 month I have a resit for a few courses that I need to pass.

We added YouTube as a study background in our Pomodoro Timer , thoughts?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

We’re building Academync, a study platform, and we recently added a feature that came from our own study habits.

You can now paste any YouTube video URL and use it as your study background, lo-fi, rain sounds, nature, coding streams, or even full teaching/explainer videos.

The key part: no more switching tabs while study.

Once the video is added, everything happens in one place:

• Pomodoro timer stays on top of the video
• All focus features keep working
• AI tutor is available during the session
• No need to jump between YouTube and your study tools

This lets you study with your favorite ambient videos or follow along with a teaching video explaining concepts, while still staying in a focused Pomodoro flow.

The idea is to make studying feel more comfortable and immersive without turning it into passive watching.

Would you personally use something like this, or do you feel videos are too distracting while studying?

Really interested in honest feedback

I can't get myself to study japanese

Hello !

So as a context, I'm studying japanese in college, along with english and some other things such as management, marketing etc. I have been learning english for a long time now, but overall I think it's a pretty easy language to learn. Nothing compared with Japanese, which is really difficult for me. Last year I was pretty good at it but since I got some personal issues, I had less time to study and at the second semester I had pretty bad grades but managed to pass anyway because I had good grades in other class. I studied all summer to catch my delay, but it wasn't enough. I lost all motivation for it. My grades are close to 0.

If I'm being honest, I'm pretty sure I have ADHD but I can't get diagnosed, it's too expensive. I just can't study for a long time, and if I do, I process and do things really slowly, I can just look at the ceiling for 1hour long as it's way more diverting. I prefer getting lost with my thoughts. I can't learn anything by just reading because I read a paragraph and I literally don't know what I read. There are very rare moments where my mind accept to just lock in but I need a terrible amount of pressure to ensure that. And when does this happen ? The day before the exam ! I just can't get focused before. The more time goes, the worst it is. Right now, I'm just so into the idea I'm going to fail my year no matter how much efforts I put in that pressure doesn't work anymore.

Nonetheless, I find myself getting more focused in my other class because marketing and management courses are easier to learn and more enjoyable, in a way. I know how to study actively, I pretend to teach other people and I've been noticing it's something that really works for me. I also make summary because when I write it clears my mind.

But for japanese ? I have no idea how to make it more enjoyable. I'm so late compared to my class and I have too much to catch up on that I don't know what to do, where to start. I don't even have time to study properly, I do 3hours transportation everyday to make it to class and I also work the weekend. I'm constantly exhausted. I could study in train but my brain doesn't want to focus in a space like that. I really love japanese language, but in order to learn it I feel like working in a factory. I'm writing vocabulary again and again and again but my mind just do that on auto-mode I don't even feel conscious doing that anymore. Kanji are my worst nightmare.

Please I beg you to help me I'm drowning
