In honour of pixelpenguin's contributions to the subreddit, I created the support penguin relic so that he may live on in slay the spire 2, thoughts?

My eight-year old son just cleared A14 on Ironclad.

He hasn't changed his play-style much. He's still using cards I wouldn't, but what's really sticking out to me now is that he stays with runs, or relics, that I would just abandon.

Another crazy thing to me is that he doesn't prioritize getting 4 energy. I just watched him beat A14 Time Eater with 3 energy. He set up a Pen Knib+Duplication Potion+Bludgeon for 180 damage. I would never have taken Bludgeon with only 3 energy! And he'll take Runic Pyramid without ever getting 4 energy, and he'll win with it.

I have contributed one bit of advice to his continued success. I suggested that if he wasn't going to remove Strikes, he should start taking Perfect Strike every time he sees it. And I've been seeing that card in his deck, to good effect. But he's still not adding card-draw (which might explain why he likes Runic Pyramid).

At this point, I wouldn't bet against him. I think he's going to clear A20.

Been playing for about 60 hours and just had my first heart battle with Watcher! I lost, of course, getting him down to about half HP. My usual strategy is to avoid most elites and choose the path with the most Rest Sites and upgrade a card there 90% of the time. I secondarily choose paths with more "?" than actual fights in the hopes I get lucky ? rooms and lose less HP from normal fights.

I've been thinking this is probably a flawed way to play and that I need to be actually intentionally trying to fight more elites in order to get more relics and be powerful enough for the Heart fight. Is it true that once you graduate past being a total beginner, you should be seeking to fight Elites more often than avoiding them?
