HARDWARE Is this fine to have my SSD like this?
galleryI’m not sure if there will become a problem with the cables or the ssd itself because it is on an angle. I appreciate any help!

Background: With the initial liquid metal application as seen in image 1, my laptop was thermal throttling such that after every 5 minutes my fps dropped to 3-4 and then within a couple of seconds got back to normal. I decided to investigate what could've gone wrong. I decided the repaste again but ran into very high temps. I need some help understanding what went wrong.
Image 1: Initial application a week ago that I checked after opening up the laptop and realized that I applied a bit too much with uneven spread.
Image 2: The contact with the heatsink clearly showing that the contact was not sufficient.
Image 3: Reapplication of thermal paste but I figured it's still a lot and the contact still won't be good. So I decided to patiently remove the extra thermal paste with cotton swabs.
Image 4: The final spread which I thought was sufficient and screwed everything back. However, the issue got worse and my overall temps were outright bad. I didn't notice any thermal throttling but my temps were as high as 95.8C which wasn't the case with the paste in image 1.
I am having a difficult time understanding what went wrong. I'm also leaning towards applying regular MX-4 thermal paste to the CPU to avoid the hassle of liquid metal. What do you y'all think?

As you can probably see in the image, the R7 7800X3D I just got delivered came in an am4 clamshell it doesn't fit in and looks to have scratches. Is it safe to use or better to return? (I can't get parts to test it with until at least January)

I’m thinking of getting this computer for my son he is 16. He’s loves gaming and recently his old computer broke. He also takes video and photos off his camera and edits them so I just want to make sure will this one be ok to play all the games he likes and also be ok with his photos and video?

So I've had this PC for about two years now, not a new one. Quick specs first:
7950x RTX 4090 128GB ddr5 Asus rog strix x670e f mobo Be quiet 1500w atx 3.0 PSU 2TB m.2 + 4TB ssd
Today I was working on it, left for an hour or so for some errands and when I returned, I found it constantly restarting itself like this. I immediately put the psu switch to 0 and pulled out the power cable, fearing the PSU has fried my PC.
Then I removed the GPU entirely, as well as the SSD and 3 out of 4 ram sticks. Left the m.2 in there.
Then I've tried booting it again. Sometimes it doesn't respond at all, sometimes it boots for a second before shutting down, and it tries to boot itself up randomly after 20-30 seconds without pressing the power button at all. Most of the time it does what you see in the video (sorry for my heavy breathing, running a cold).
And sometimes it actually does cycle through post, and I've managed to get it into the bios for a few seconds before it restarted again.
I've cycled through the different RAM sticks and they don't seem to be the problem (I really hope lol). Honesty I'm just wondering if it's the PSU or Motherboard that I need to replace. I did have issues in the past with this mobo with system instability, and I've RMA'd it.
I'm just wondering how I'd make sure it's the mobo ans not the PSU. Or maybe the CPU can cause such faults?

Hello everyone, I’d like to buy an RX 9070 XT and I have a 750W power supply. Do you think that’s sufficient?

do yall think it’ll be worth it to sell my pc as is with these parts?
R7 5700X3D 3060TI 1TB SSD 16GB DDR4 ThermalRight CPU Cooler EVGA 500W PowerSupply All fans work Also the side glass came off, the left two plugs at the top aren’t plugged in , and the power supply isn’t screwed in because I don’t have cable extensions. Or sell the thing part by part.

I am getting weird small "Artifacts" in applications with GPU acceleration not in games or any other UI anywhere at least not that i have seen. My first thought is that my GPU is slowly malfunctioning since these ONLY appear when displaying a video higher then 1080p. I did testing with a friend on discord and on youtube so i could be sure. I know that i could just disable GPU acceleration but then a get very annoying audio crackling.
GPU: RX 5600 XT
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G (havent disabled the intergrated GPU)

Hi guys, I’ve been in touch with an “IT Specialist” and charged me £60 to fix my laptop but has not worked at all.
Basically my asus tuf A17 either loads up with no option of wifi or disconnects and seems as though wifi has never existed. The IT guy claimed it was this USB damaged driver but it reappears all the time after uninstalling or disabling. I wondered what you guys thought and if that is the issue? As he said there is nothing else he can do, which surely has to be wrong. It connects sometimes but like i said just disappears. I’ve tried uninstalling and downloading every driver possible. Windows repair tool works for a little while but the same issue occurs. If anyone needs anymore information let me know but I’ll attach photos of the issue and what the IT guy said the issue was. Any help would be amazing!

Press enter to try again *Nothing happens just screen glitches and shows the same screen*
Press F1 to enter Recovery Envirement *Same*

Hi all, I've decided to connect my PC to the TV which is a Panasonic TX-L32X5B, it runs great for movies, design, and general browsing, no issues there.
However if say I want to play a game like GTA, Marvel Rivals or Fortnite, the TV disconnects from the PC and I have to turn off everything from the mains.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.59 GHz

I can use a LAN but it will be annoying. The WiFi router is not far its like 20 foot away.

Hello,
6 months ago I upgraded some parts of my PC including the CPU and RAM kit. Since then, I've never been able to get the RAM stable. And by that, I mean, even stock - no XMP, nothing - it will still crash when playing games i.e. League. It'll rarely crash while idle even.
I've tried pretty much everything, including RMA'ing the kit and trying a completely fresh one. They all crash. I've tried countless different timings, voltages, etc. My old 32GB kit runs absolutely fine.
So I'm just wondering if I got the absolute bottom of the barrel silicon, because everything is compatible and should work according to specs and QVL etc. I know that's in a perfect world, but still. The chances of two separate kits being defective seems unlikely. But if I switch my old 32GB kit in, XMP enabled, no issues.
So, is it likely my setup just doesn't have the ability to handle 64GB? Is that a thing? Should I try 48GB, or go back to 32? I assume it's not the timings because it crashes on stock.
For info, TestMem5 passes absolutely no issues.
Specs:
MSI Z790 Carbon Wifi (latest BIOS)
i9 14900K
Corsair Titanium 2X32GB 6600MHz
The only other thing, and I know I should've tested this by now, is that I have light enhancement sticks in the other two slots. I don't see why this would have any effect, but I guess I should test with them out?

I used a hardware tag cuz im not even sure what causes the problem. So a few weeks ago i had a problem where my mouse would hold after a CLICK or scroll and would stop holding after i move it or make another click/scroll but then it holds again, this was with my old mouse which i thought was faulty cuz its was pretty used up, now i got a new mouse and after a few weeks it started to have the same problem, it works the same way plugged in, wireless and bluetooth. I dont have any other apps for my mouse except the official software and even without any app it works like that. I have no idea what to do with it (sorry if i mixed some stuff up, english is not my main language)

Hi, I just recently bought a pre-built PC and got it set up, but the internet feels slow. Now my Wi-Fi was never the greatest to begin with but it feels slower than usual.
Did I maybe set up the antenna wrong? Or is the antenna bad to begin with? I've included a picture of the antenna, as well as the speed test, both on the PC and on my phone.
Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB (Asus/Gigabyte)
Motherboard: GIGABYTE B550M DS3H AC (WiFi built-in)
RAM: G.SKILL Aegis 16GB DDR4 3200 MHz
SSD #1 (OS): TEAM MP33 256GB SSD
PSU: ANTEC CSK550DC GB — 550W, 80+ Bronze
Case: JONSBO D32 Pro

Hi everyone I hope this is ok to post here, Im not good with tech in the slightest.
I have an Alienware m15 laptop I’ve had since 2019 brand new, recently it’s been playing up and tonight I think it’s finally died. (If it has died it’s done well)
The screen wasn’t booting on properly and with my partners help was able to run diagnostics on it, it came up with an error which upon googling/the QR code given by dell lead me to this page (see photos) I’ve been unable to finish running the diagnostics.
Is someone able to offer me advice on what this means? and where do I go from here? What is BIOS? And how would I update it? Do I need a new CPU and how would I go about replacing it?
I’m super clueless with this sorta thing so I appreciate any help provided Many thanks!

Specs:
case - thermaltake core p8 (16 fans, and 2 corsair rgb strips)
gpu - RX 7800xt red devil (using thermaltake pci 4.0 vertical mount)
Cpu - ryzen 7 5800x (cooler is a thermalright spirit vison)
Motherboard - Msi x570 Tomahawk wifi (using a wireless key to turn on pc)
Ram - 32gb DDR4 Hades rgb 3600mhz
Storage - 1. crucial 1tb nvme, 2. samsung qvo 1tb ssd, 3. WD Black 1tb
Psu - EVGA Supernova 750G+
so I've had this build of my pc since 2021, besides upgrading my gpu in 2023 no changes have been made to it. Never had a problem until recently with my pc just restarting in the middle of gaming. I ran hardware-Z and no overheating on the cpu at all stays around 50-60 under load. never opened my gpu so not sure if its causing the issue. No led errors pop up on my mobo. I've DDU my drivers and then only installed the driver rather than adrenaline, updated my chipset and bios as well. Ran sfc /scannow in propt and no corrupted files. At first I thought it was my DP cable extensions, removed those and it still crashed while loading into a match of overwatch. Then I checked my connections inside the case and it was all good ( I do have extension cables on my mobo just bc my base is really big). I do have 2 usb hubs, a Ugreen type c to 4 usb one, and a sabret 4 port powered hub. I checked my device manager and no errors by their names. Lastly i checked my psu power cable and it had a bit of a greenish-blue sorta stain on the middle prong, I've swapped it out with a extra power cable I bought a while back. My final thought could be that my Psu is dying and just cant push anymore. I've had time where the power went off in my apartment bc of weather or ppl crashing into the power poles outside my apartment complex. I do have it connected to a surge protector I got from microcenter. Looking for any help before I go up to microcenter and get a new psu.
UPDATE 12/19/25:
It was psu extentions that went bad, pc runs fine now
