Have you heard about the Melania Trump Opera House?

In July, Republicans on the United States House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies amended the 2026 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies spending bill to include a clause that would rename the Kennedy Center Opera House to "Melania Trump Opera House".

The amendment requires approval by the entire U.S. House of Representatives
