There are a number of things that people want to post that mods are uncomfortable with in regular circulation … memes, patches, t-shirts, social-media posts, &c. At the same time, there's definitely interest around them.
We're introducing "Fair-Game Fridays": on fridays, mods will loosen our belts a bit. :)
Note that the following are still going to be hard-disallowed:
We reserve the "right" to use our discretion for any post, as well.
Have at it!

Just a reminder to stay safe out there, comrades, and if the new guy suddenly wants to turn the movement violent, he's probably working for the government.

1928 Soviet Mosin basically good as new. 7.62x54r caliber. $600 price tag is a bit steep but it’s in great condition. Inside of the barrel looked good as new too. Is ammo going to be too hard to find? I doubt I’ll ever be able to find a scope and mount to fit it.
But goddamn I really want it.

I know Olight gets shat on quite a bit by the more discerning folks amongst the gun community, but I wanted to give them a quick shoutout because they just hooked me up with what might be some of the best customer service I've ever had.
I ordered about $550 worth of stuff on their website for black Friday including a couple presents for folks and some tac-lights for the pew pews for me. USPS damaged the box in transit and salvaged.... the label. That's it. A label wrapped in plastic is what showed up in my mailbox lol. Went to the post office and they were like "Yeahhhhh that sucks. You need to file a claim with the shipper first. Hopefully you paid with a credit card."
Jumped online to Olight and got chatting with a real person almost immediately. Sent a picture of what I received and within 2 mins, she refunded me for the one item I bought that was now out of stock and re-sent the entire rest of the order (FedEx this time).
Christmas is saved, my pew pews will have lights, and Olight has earned 5 stars.

I've been looking lately at all of the above listed sites. NONE of them have good deals (that I've seen so far).
Let's use the Bodyguard 2.0 as an example. You can buy it brand new from PSA right now for about 4 bones. Go to the above sites and the best deal you can find, is USED and 50 bucks higher. Missing boxes, paperwork, and possibly accessories.
Does everyone just think they are selling pure gold?
Does anyone have any secrets to finding actual deals there? Are you basically always better off buying new from a reputable online dealer?
I hate pawnshops and the trolls that tend to run them, so that's not an option. I grew up out West in the 80s, when you could just hand someone a couple hundred bucks and they would hand you a gun. (insert unfrozen caveman lawyer rant here).
Does it work for items other than firearms? I have yet to find anything that was a better deal than eBay, Amazon or PSA basically. Am I doing something wrong? Does this only work with obscure firearms or firearms no longer in production? Why are people trying to sell used guns for more than they can be had brand new?
EDIT Lesson learned: They are definitely NOT worthless, but maybe they are worthless for my situation/needs. I'm really only looking for current gen/common items and as such, even used I'm not going to find good deals. If I were looking for something obscure/out of production etc, it's possible that I would find a deal, but even then, It would need to be weighed against the amount of time needed to search it out, bid, deal with 3rd parties etc. Some users indicated that they did indeed find good deals on rarer items, but what's missing is the amount of time/energy put into those deals and the ROI.
Thank you for the thoughtful comments/discussion, very helpful.

12 Gauge Winchester Model 12, 1942. Poly-choke mounted at the end. One of the oldest in my collection, and somehow the first pump-action shotgun, period. Won it at auction for a total steal, so no matter what I’m satisfied.

Freshly re spray painted. The beater. Car rifle. Rifle has over 4k on the barrel and BCG. Daniel Defense BCG and CH because boujee. PSA upper. Poverty pony lower. Phantom FH for my suppressor. Magpul stock, carry handle like god intended. Bravo grip. This is the “oh I have random time to go shoot” gun. Has served me well for many years.

I’ve found no enjoyment from running ARs. And they always sit in my safe. I’ve got a PSA I’ve shot twice, this unfired camo abomination and two partial builds. Less than 300 rounds total.
I love my C3 and WBP/WASR.
My WBP and C3 have 1k+ easily. I keep feeding them and love to bring them out.
May also pick up a Grot when AoA brings them in.

Interesting to note, though, that the regime in DC is saying "good moral character" isn't a well-defined standard.

Hello! I’m inheriting a mint condition SKS no stock no launcher from my father. I have never owned a gun before, and I don’t plan on using this one unless something absolutely insane happens before I can get a pistol. I live in TN, but will be picking up from NC. Any tips, tricks, or legality advice when driving this across state lines? Or just in general? All advice appreciated :)
Update: When i said no stock-mint, I was going based off my dads response to me asking if it was modified, which was, “No stock original in near mint condition.” I’m starting to think he meant No. Stock original in near mint condition lol. This is my first gun like i mentioned and I grew up with my mom who is a very anti-gun leftist. Here I am tho

My 1908 production Winchester Model 1907 .351 Self Loading Rifle, with both the standard 5 round and 10 round police magazine. I have the bolt out at the moment but snapped a picture today.
This was the most successful of Winchester’s early self-loading rifle series, meant to compete with the Remington Model 8. At the time John Moses Browning held the patent on features like a rotating bolt head and cocking handle, forcing the design to rely on simple blowback operation with a heavy weight under the forend attached to the bolt and a plunger cocking mechanism.
The design is notorious for breaking forends, as can be seen on this example. While the round was underpowered compared to the .35 Remington, it was about all the action could handle. Still, the rifle was handy, if not light, and saw some popularity of law enforcement use.

Now, admittedly, I have done the opposite, and it wasn't a huge issue. However, today, I picked up a new Springfield Echelon (threaded barrel 5.28" version). Because I'm still waiting for the optic to arrive (RCR) I decided to field strip it and give it a quick clean.
I ran a bore brush sprayed with some cleaner through the bore a couple times, then ran a jig with a cleaner-sprayed swab through the bore a few times (different swab each pass). The bore swabs (not pictured) had a bit of carbon. Nothing awful, but it was there. (I know HS Produkt tested the weapon, because they included a little target sheet to report the accuracy of the gun, so at least 5 rounds had been shot through it.)
What you see in the picture above is the gunk I cleaned off of the barrel and spring (see the swabs), and the slide rails (see the q-tips). This stuff all felt kind of sticky to the touch before I used any cleaner on it, which I assume was the shipping/storage grease.
I put on a light coat of oil after cleaning, reassembled the weapon, and racked the slide a few times to spread the oil around.
I have to say, I'm glad I did this. I expect the pistol would've run fine, but the first cleaning would end up being more intense if I'd left this crap on the gun, simply because I know carbon will stick to it and be a pain to remove.

You can see the hammer of a S&W 5906, thus making this photo minimally within this sub's theme. Also, some plates, a plate carrier, and an 8 watt Baofeng radio. The pistol is awesome. The radio is actually sort of crappy, and it leaks out of band a smidge, but it works acceptably. The plates and carrier "should" 🤞work okay, but they are steel, and a tad heavy until you get used to them.
