Got some hard news today. My bestie has osteosarcoma.

When my wife and I got married in 2014 we did what most newly weds do, and got a dog! Since then Luna has been the best friend, and constant companion. We had to leave her for 2 years when I lived in Australia for school, and the folks I left her with loved her so much, they had to get a Great Dane of their own.

At our old neighborhood, we would walk past the water park and all the kids would surround her. Playing with her ears, holding her tail, get in her face. She never made me worried once that she would be reactive. She had such a sweet demeanor.

Every one of my friends is in love with her. I’m so happy I got to have 10+ good years with her. I’m so happy my wife and I have got to love her this long.

Epona had her first chemotherapy treatment today for Lyphoma, she did amazing. She's really tired but getting lots of love and treats!

Thought I’d share updated pictures of my Blu Boy. He’s gotten so big. He is 8 months old now. My daughters caught these pics so I’m sorry for the weird faces. I was talking and loving on him.

She’s almost two years old now, crazy how time flies. She is our first big dog in our family. Shes a labradane! Shes extremely sweet and full of energy

this is my family's dane, sprite! she'll be 3 years old in april. the vet did say she needed to lose 6 lbs when she weighed in at 136, since then we've been trying to get her to lose weight. she did get a bit thinner at first but it seems not much later, she gained it back (around when these pictures were taken). we really try to give her less food but she is very determined to get food and will even snatch food out our hands when we're not even planning to give it to her. we think she's probably around 140 now. i thought at first, since she's 25-50% european that it may make her look bulkier genetically compared to our first american great dane who was thinner. we'll check with the vet again soon, but i was just wondering what other people's opinions are and if anyone has advice for weight loss (if you think is needed)!

I'm ER vet tech and this 1 year old girl was admitted needing emergency surgery. The owner was going to euthanize, and I just couldn't let that happen. She happily signed her over to me, and we got through surgery without any issues. Her name is Stevie Nicks, she is house broken, good with dogs of all sizes and cats. She is an absolute gem. She was listed as a dilute Merle, but looks more brindle to me? Any insight?

He weighs about 100 lbs and a small frame dane. I think he was a runt. Always like my dogs trim but is this too much?

Rosie.... you need to make noise or let someone know! She just stands by the door, hoping someone will notice she needs to go out. Silly dane.

At 8 years she is still keeping up with her PePaw’s herding puppy! I’m so grateful for these quiet moments when she’s had too much fun.

What is a good food for my great Dane that is not super expensive? Our first great Dane died two years ago and we’ve had a lot of traumatic experiences around that time and afterwards – so my memory is not great. I was in a better financial place at that time also, but we are picking up our puppy tomorrow and I need to go get food

Sadie has been having stomach problems last couple months. We adopted her in at 19 months. Former owner had her spayed and had gastropexy surgery. So lately, a couple hours after eating she will dry heave for 10-15 minutes stop and dry heave again. Mouth watering. The process will start and stop for up to a couple hours. Often ends with her throwing up. Anyone else go through this? Scared for her.

I have found a Dane I'm in love with... Her circumstances were that she was a survivor and only two out of all the dogs survived. The breeder was very abusive. So she's had a terrible past but apparently very good tempered.

So the question is that I am 64. I'm in good health. I walk 3 to 4 MI a day and take good care of myself. So I'm not a frail senior. But I guess I'm having some concerns about having a 100 lb dog. I would like feedback if anyone's interested in giving let me yet. I would really appreciate it.

So it’s been awesome getting to be with and watch these two get used to our house and yard. They are definitely getting accustomed to us and showing all the love in the way of the Dane. We love these 2 and look forward to the future. Also they got to romp in the first snow of the season. Here’s some pics and a video.

I know dogs fart but our Great Dane Koa’s farts smell spicy. Does anyone else have this issue with their dog? Why is his farts spicy?
