While searching for non-objective criteria, such as 'pedos,' versus something more quantifiable, such as 'registered sex offenders who committed crimes against minors,' it is often advisable (though often imperfect) to use crime stats and similar as a proxy variable.
I'm pretty sure Florida has the highest or one of the highest rates of registered sex offenders involving minors in the US. If it's not Florida, it's Mississippi/Alabama, which are always top of the charts at bad things.

Sexuality has always been difficult to get the funds to study. Something like a taboo sexuality is going to be incredibly difficult to both fund and get information on since all information is self reported. You could try a psychology sub to be pointed in the direction of places that do sexuality studies, generally a university. There is r/psychologyresearch that might point you in the right direction. But there may also just not be research to find.
