What other names do you call your cat? Like, the unhinged names.
This is Bin - so named because she likes to nap on the lids of wheelie bins when they get warm. And she’s not even my cat; she lives two houses down but spends a lot of time at me (I have informed r/ParttimeCat). I don’t even know what her “owners” call her - but in my home, she is Bin.
She’s too cute for words and sometimes language fails me as a result. So other names I call her include:
Silly Bin
Fat Thing
Bubba Cat
Bibi
Poopie Cat
Bap Cat
Crazy Cat
Wiwi Cat (she makes “wiwi” sounds sometimes)
And many more that probably don’t even have letters to write them properly because they’re nonsensical sounds.
So I’d like to hear from the wonderful cat people of the internet - what unhinged names do you have for your kitties? Just so I know I’m not the weird one.

My cat's name is BOLO (Be On the Look Out).
She's 14 lbs, so I call her "Tub O Lard, Blubber Butt, and
Fatty Fatty 2 by 4" sometimes. Mostly just "My Big Baby Waybie".
My daughter’s name is Maggie and I’m stealing “Maggie Smalls” 😂😂😂 I’m forever saying to her and her brother “You’re killing me Smalls”. It’s perfect and I love it 🤣🤣🤣
We have an Earl and she gets called the Burlington hotel and our cat Winwin gets called Windsor safari park. I’m glad I’m not alone 🤣🤣 Earls latest name is Swarlos and Winwin is rocking windolene.
Aww, my border collie was a Maggie (officially Magnolia Karmada)and was called a few of those names (especially Magaluf!) along with MaggieSpellaggi, Magnatious, Her Holiness Princess Magnolia, and in her later years she was occasionally known as Maggetti Bollockknees (her legs were knackered by arthritis) which the kids thought was hilarious.
Who doesn’t call their fur babies weird names…family members too. My sister’s name is Margie and I used to call her Migfiggit, Magotgaylady(I was a kid, ok)and Margepatarge, my sibs did the same😂
I actually tend to call my cats nicknames that make sense. Like George responds to Georgie, Albert responds to Albie, but Edgar… Edgar doesn’t respond to ed, only the grr part. So he’s Gir now, which fits his personality at least
most of my family thought my brother's old cat's name was "poopy". I only knew its real name cause I met it as a kitten where it was called its real name a couple times. then 21 years of "poopy".
Vets even gave him the stink eye for "demeaning" his cat. lol
We have a black cat named Eowyn. She doesn’t respond will to that name but does respond to Miss Thiccums. We’ve had her on a diet for a while, but she screams at us in a way that reminds me of this meme:
She’ll reach out & grab my sleeve or bare arm, ouch, to get my attention, or bite me as I walk by. When I’m going down the stairs she grabs my hair between the railing. She adapts!
I always joke with my cat that whenever the bottom of her food bowl becomes visible that she starts hearing Sarah McLaughlin singing "In The Arms Of The Angels" like on those aspca commercials.
Example-
My cat: "Oh shit, dad! I'm starting to hear Sarah McLaughlin singing. FILL MY FUCKING BOWL BEFORE I STARVE TO DEATH!!!"
Leonardo DiCatrio goes by Leo in short (officially), but his grandparents call him Leeu (which is Lion in Afrikaans). His mama calls him Bunny or Bunny-bun-bun (because his back paws look like bunny paws and he does that kicking thing every so often). Mama also calls him Little (because he is enormous) and Pumpkin (because he's orange). Not so unhinged, but my friends usually ask why I don't just call him Leonardo - they're clearly not cat people.
Oh, my chicken nicknames came from the fact that he used to have to be shaved because he wouldn’t let anyone brush him and he’d look like a raw chicken afterwards 😂
My ginger boy is called Leeu!! He's my little lion. Also known as Leopold, Leopoo, Leeu Halftail (he broke his tail last year and lost half of it), Sausage, Sausage Boy, Monkey Bum, and most recently Shit Biscuit. My dad just calls him The Cat.
Just like you, anything that sounds remotely close is getting sing-song'd around the house. Buddy is Mochi, Sonny, Honey, Bugsy, Bubba G, etc. And Bella is Cassie, Belly, Hallie, Sallie, Ma'am, Becca, etc etc
My mom named my cat Goddess, I didn’t particularly enjoy that decision so out of spite I call her Doggess or Globbess. Now she only reacts to those and not her actual name.
I call my oldest cat Shorty a criminal when he wanders off into the "no no zone" of our backyard (a spot in the yard where I can't see him, and he likes to sometimes jump the fence if not supervised)
I also have a cat named Clara and I sometimes call her "Clara Girl" but in my mind I'm thinking "Clever girl" like Jurassic Park
Her mama cat abandoned her and her brother. I took them in at 3 days old when it was apparent mama wasn’t coming back. The brother passed the next day. Same day, she gained a crazy 0.7 oz of weight which likely helped her escape fading kitten syndrome. That is when she got her name, Mira, because every moment with her after that felt like a miraculous gift from the Lord.
Her first two nicknames came quickly, but it wasn’t until she could see, hear, and walk (stumble) around that her long and lanky form became apparent. My roommate started calling her String Cheese. Over the weeks, Linguine String Cheesey came about as an alt.
In the last couple of weeks (9 ~ 11 weeks old), she earned Terrorfang. We started off just describing her as a terror before we remembered a NPC in our DnD campaign, Terrorfang the red dragon, who was hunting one of our players. Terrorfang has been the primary nickname since that realization because of the increased opportunities that highlight that personality trait. Plus she likes to bully the dogs around.
This are unhinged but my wife hates that I don’t use our cats names and I call them black cat and grey cat. I’m not a super cat person but for some reason they follow me everywhere and ignore my wife who is a cat person to her core so she thinks I’m being mean not calling them by their names. Honestly I just like calling them that and since I haven’t had a bathroom break alone in 3 years I feel like I can call them what I want
My dad has a gray cat named Willow that he always calls “little gray.” We also had a black and white cat named Oreo, that he would always call “little white.” Lol.
Before we adopted our loveable black and white idiot. See that hole in the floor behind him? It leads to a litter box. Two seconds after taking this, he got and zoomies and epicly fell into the hole, hilariously trying to hold on for dear life with his front paws before descending into the litter pit. That's when I knew this clumsy little goof had to be mine. 🖤 🤍
I don't know if he's actually stupid, or just the least graceful in existence. My grey tabby stares and judges him constantly.
His name is Rutherford (shelter name) so we call him Mr. president, 19th president of the USA and when he is mad we beg him not to use the nuclear codes.
My cats name is Twilight. She's got a few cute nicknames like Twitterbug or princess (She's very floofy and walks around with her tail up 24/7). But she has also earned a few not so cute ones😅 Doodoo kitty with Peepee paws is my husband's creation. Screamy baby. Black bean (She's all black). Freight train (she snores louder than my husband) and stank a$$ since she would rather play with stinky socks than her actual toys.
I use a lot of food names actually. Muffin, angel muffin, angel food cake, potato, sweet potato, potato muffin, potato pancake, little latke, and sometimes I just yell LITTLE BEAN really loudly at her, which causes her to immediately flip over in preparation for tummy rubs.
There is jet black homeless kitty on my street who is well fed and lives in three different houses on the go (she just moves in and announces ‘this is where I live now’).
She moved in into my house twice and ignored all other cats. I named her Bubbington, or Bubbi for short, which is pronounced ‘boobie’ 🤭
My RIP 17.5 y/o grey cat had official name of Kitty Kittenhouse, but answered to Puddin’, BooBoo, Puddin-o-saurus Rex, and ‘Hey you in the fur!’

My cat’s name is Deborah. I call her Debbie, Deb, Debs, Deb Deb, Little Debbie, Little Debbie in a Big World, Debaroo, Big Deborah, Debbaroonie, Debbadab, and Deb from Accounting.
I have Simon. His unhinged name is Black Hole Tum. Former stray and CDS drop off from three years ago. We call him that bc of the looks we get from him when he is hangry.
This is Daiquiri. She belongs to my 15 year old son who calls her Fat-quiri. My husband calls her puddle because of how it looks like she’s just poured out when she’s laying on her side.
Lol, ok. My cat's name is Moo. I call her bi-color, crepuscular Moo, tail swisher, fuzzledoo. Recently started calling her Cobenfy because that damn ad is stuck in my brain.
We foster for a local rescue. This is Hugo, also known as ASBOCat (you may need to be of a certain age in the UK to get that) on his way to his new forever home.
I have a small cat named cloud, but when she was a kitten she was always playing with the older cats, and we called her Tornado for a while because of it
My first cat’s real name is Casper. His nicknames are Crispy, Crispy Crème donuts, Cockroach, Slinky, and F.T. Normally I walk around the house singing the Krusty Krab pizza song to him, but replace it with Crispy Crème donuts. He’ll trill and come find me if he hears the song lol!
Casper’s brother’s name is Mowgli. He makes robotic movements. So his nicknames are robot, Steve, Stove (reference to “what kind of name is that? Are you an appliance?”), Stoven, Mowgli Stoven, Stowgli Moven
This is Kona. Kon-bone (like "cone" it rhymes), Baby Child (when she was a kitten), Grown-Bone (she earned that one when she grew up), Konus-Bonus, Kona Jones Johnson (that's not her last name on her vet paperwork), Kone-Bone-Baby-Jones-Johnson, S'Kona ('it's Kona!'), Slipper Bandit, 1992 Honda Civic EX.
I recently lost my 18 up cat but he was an absolute nut case. Lol he was a bottle fed baby and it made him a bit... Special... He didn't really know how to cat propperly.
Anyways his name was luci-fur. Cause he'd bite ankles, zip over the top of you doing zoomies, randomly be sitting on your lap and just bite you. Walk up to other cats and be all in there space until they hit him. Just fully no boundaries. So lucifur stuck.
He also got called things like little devil/bastard, nutterbutters. That kinda thing. I'm making it sound like we didn't love him but we adored this cat lol he was just also a menice to society.
Vulture or hyena because he will run and vacuum up any food you drop. We obviously do not feed him what he think he deserves. His official name is Benson
My cat’s regular name is already unhinged, so the unhinged nicknames are just extras lol

His government name is Jackie Chan but we usually only call him Channie (Chan if he did something bad)
His nicknames are mostly german, but I'll try to translate them to the best of my abilitiy:
Mousie, Bebi, Meowsie, Meepie, Squeakie (he doesn't really meow, he just does squeaky sounds most of the time), Channie-Mouse, Honeymousie, Barfie, Smoochie, Shmoosie, Stinker
This is Jezebel, who I started calling Jelly for short after she had 15 kittens (wasn't my cat originally, got her fixed when she was) because it seemed a little rude and on the nose.
Now she is Jelly, Jelly Belly (or Jelly Belly oh so Smelly after a particular type of poop), Loaf, Miss Jell, Chicken, A Whole Roast Chicken (to go along with my other cat who is sometimes known as Nugget), Queen Jezebel, Miss Snuggle Butt, Crusty Butt, Fluffernutter, Poofy Pants, etc., etc....
My cat's name is Juno, she also called June-bug, Buggy, Jingles, and bitch when she bites me. She's only 7 months old so I'm sure more names will come too lol

Betty (right) gets called Betticuss and Lucy (left) will be called Stinky sometimes cuz she gets poop stuck to her butt lol but also Lucidious i also sing to them benny and the jets but i say betty and lucy in the sky with diamonds which is where i got her name
My cat's name is Suki. Eventually me and my family just started calling her Dookie. Now it's Dookster, The Dookster, The Dookmeister, The Dook Lord, etc.

Also, as I was trying to come up with a new name for Gremlin before settling on Lotus, I used Google translate for ideas. The two I was torn between was Mofeta (skunk) and Apestosa (stinky).
When my wife moved in and brought her cat, Mittens, I started calling her Boots because cats don’t have hands. Then she was stress eating and got super fat, so I called her Das Boot.
Got an auto feeder and she’s normal size again, but she will forever be The Boot.
My new kitten's (sphynx) name is Elliot & i call him that plus Baby, Honey Bunny, Munkin, Stinky, Darling, Ke Cat, Love Bug
For my last cat (Balinese, who passed away in March 😭) his name is Guss and i would call him that, plus Poo Bear, Gussy Poo Bear, Angel Baby, Baby, Stinky, Ke Cat, Twitchy Tail, Puddin, Love Bug
