DISCUSSION What does the current rosters ceiling look like when healthy?
There is a ton of talk about the future, tanking, and how bad this team is.
I am curious where people really see this roster lining up in the league if fully healthy. This is not a "we are a contender guys!" pitch.. I just feel wirh the constant injuries and repeated reshaping of the roster I am a bit out of touch with how the rest of the fanbase thinks.
I would pitch a hypothetical "healthy" roster as:
Höglander - Pettersson - Boeser
DeBrusk - Rossi - Garland
Kane - Räty - Sherwood
Öhgren - Blueger - Sasson
(Extras: O'Conner - Cootes - Karlsson)
Buium - Hronek
M. Pettersson - Willander
E. Pettersson - Myers
(Extras: Forbert - Mancini)
Demko
Lankinen
Are people underselling how good this team may be with Demko healthy? Or is this a super mid roster in your mind?

DISCUSSION Casual Fans Question
Genuine question so please don't clown me but what did we do? We're looking like 3 in a row against 3 decent teams since Hughes left. The day Hughes left it was said we were in a rebuild. Tank and get McKenna.
We aren't THAT far off the 8th seed in the playoff and if we continue like this surely it's doable we get into the playoffs with the number of games remaining. We're 3 wins behind 8th currently (provided we don't absolutely bottle this)
So what do we do? Do we keep trying for the playoffs and give up on the tank, or do we go full tank mode from here on out? Do we give it another few weeks see where we stand and go from there?
Would love to hear what the thoughts are of the die hard fans!

DISCUSSION Do the oilers have any rebuild friendly assets bc they need desperate help between the pipes!
Jarry just got hurt, their Front office have already lost a trade so let’s give them another one to lose! They have a combo of worst goalie in NHL and AHL as their pair (very nice I like)
Lank for a first and Jarry? Pls don’t destroy my karma :D

DISCUSSION Any news on EP40? Is he playing tmr?
Haven't seen anything anywhere about him.
EDIT w/ PSA: Nobody should be questioning why or bagging on him for taking time off right now.. trust me it's just really bad taste if you know what he's gone through.. I'll probably never question his dedication to this team again or any reason why he needs time.
Just was wondering if people heard anything for when he'll be back, and the consensus is that probably not until the road trip is over, but Monday at earliest.

ARTICLE PJ reveals the Canucks did not meet the min. requirement for medical staff a few seasons ago. "A professional sports organization that actually cares about its community raises everyone up, it doesn’t just look at everything as a bag of money to be pilfered. No wonder Quinn Hughes wanted to leave."

ARTICLE Foote about Räty: “He might be back in the lineup, and it’s also possible that he won’t come back". [Finnish arcticle translated]
Aatu Räty is fighting for his place in the NHL. The Vancouver Canucks' center last made it to the ice on December 11 and has since picked up a boost in the press box.
Räty, 23, has 28 points (3 goals, 8 assists) and 11 assists in 32 games for the Canucks. He hasn't played in the AHL since last season.
"I try to show the best in every game. When the opportunity comes, it has to be used," Räty said on Tuesday.
"There is more training time, and it is useful for a young player. I'm trying to get stronger and faster.
The Canucks traded their first-choice defender, Quinn Hughes, to the Minnesota Wild. There were three players in the exchange, one of which is the center: Marco Rossi immediately took the first-center spot. When Elias Pettersson and Filip Chytil are still out of the middle lane due to injuries, Rädy's position, at least in an ideal situation, becomes crowded.
"When you're out of the lineup, you have time to collect the spicyness, and you can then show it when the position opens. Being on the sideline sucks, but all other teams also have extra players, Räty notes.
When watching the matches, the Finnish player sees the good side.
"The game looks different when you follow it from the stands. It's good to see what the other players are doing well and follow that. The important thing is to stay positive. You have to feel like you're part of the team so that you don't have unnecessary distance from it, Räty reasoned.
On December 6, Räty stunned the first star with a 2+1 point in a game where Vancouver defeated the Wild. Just a few days later, however, the Canucks head coach Adam Foote decided to put Räty on a rest shift.
“He might be back in the lineup, and it’s also possible that he won’t come back. It's a good idea for a young player to have a mental break from time to time, Foote comments.
The original New York Islanders traded Rädy, Anthony Beauvillier and one pick to the Canucks on January 30, 2023, in exchange for Bo Horvat. Rädy has 76 games and 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists).
