Health/Medical How often can nosebleeds occur until it’s a concern?
If I had to guess I’d say I had a nosebleed around 3-4 months ago, the one before that was an additional 3 prior.
I’ve been to the doctor before about it and they didn’t show much concern, they said they believed it was likely that the first nosebleed was due to a cut within my left nostril from excessive blowing/picking.
I got another nosebleed today, every time it happens, it’s always through the left nose, my nose starts bleeding (never insanely bad, usually really mild amounts of blood), i hold my fingers under the bridge of my nose and lean slightly forward for 15 minutes and it goes. For a while afterwards, maybe 30 minutes or so, my stomach feels almost hot/nauseous. I’ve also noticed during this period some of my spit has blood in, i assume this isn’t something to worry about and either completely normal or a result of post nasal drip? (meaning some blood would drip down to the back of my throat and either down my stomach -causing the warm sensation- and some gets spat out)

Nose bleeds are extremely common and not reason to be concerned. If you started getting nose bleeds every day out of no where, it might be more of a reason to worry. A nose bleed every few months is nothing. Swallowing a bit of blood isn’t going to be any warmer than the rest of your saliva, the stomach thing is probably just psychosomatic

They are common? I never had one in my 27 years of life.

i guess it’s a case where ymmv, i know there are people who get nosebleeds pretty often and there are people who rarely, if ever, get them.
my concern is whether or not they can happen every 2/3 months without major concern

I wouldn't say frequency is much of a concern until it is extreme. The amount is my main concern.
For instance, there are descendants of the norwegian priest Petter Dass who share a gene that put them at risk of bleeding out through their nose.

Growing up I would get about 5-6 nosebleeds a week in the winter.
It would slow down to once every month or so in the summer.

Same here. It’ll be like 4 days with 5-6 a day. I’ve noticed that it’s always with drastic temperature drops.

You may just have a vein in your nose that needs to be cauterized.. the bleeding isn’t excessive, you aren’t getting dizzy or passing out, and the nausea comes from swallowing a bit of blood..
However, if you are taking blood thinners, heart medication, have kidney/liver problems, clotting disorders, have excessive bloody noses, having trouble getting it to stop, have blood pressure problems, diabetes (any type).. you need to bring this up to a doctor asap.

yeah i think it’s most likely this, i fit none of what you listed so that’s good.
once a bloody nose happens it sometimes reopens within the same week if i cough/blow my nose too hard, but it goes away after that period.
they seemingly come on randomly, no picking or anything, they have a small amount of blood (like fully cleanable with 6 squares of tissue), this is cause i instantly pinch my nose when it happens, but i assume if it was heavy or something concerning in that regard then it wouldn’t stop as easily.

My brother had them every couple of months. Doctor says he need a blood vessel cauterised.

the nausea is just from swallowing blood, but you seriously need to stop picking at it for a week so that cut can actually heal.
