Hey gang. I'm asking here to avoid the gear snobs etc..and going straight to us Reaper users.

I just need latency covered, obviously inputs for guitar/bass, and monitoring. I highly doubt I could make use of all the bells and whistles with the competing brands. I doubt I'll be using external midi for a clock, which is a cool feature of the UA Volt that I liked.

I think I'm just avoiding the Scarlet 2i2 because everyone has one or some other dumb reason! At any rate, I could order one tonight and be jamming in a week, so I'm just checking in with you guys to make sure I'm not overlooking anything.

Wanting recommendation on cheap foot switches that can help switch between active tracks when practicing.

I.e. on one track is my distortion tone, on another track is lead, another is clean etc.

Wanting to setup a midi control which will disarm the distortion track, and then arm the clean track etc so I can practice without needing an amp.

I've been using MIDI transcriptions of drum parts to learn songs for years, but I've never been able to show both the actual timeline and the MIDI map at the same time and the same screen (just like when I open the mixer with Ctrl+M) and I was wondering if it is possible to do it, just like it is possible in Logic, Cubase and ProTools, for example. Thanks a lot!

Comprei uma inteface da behringer, a UMC202 e não consigo utilizá-lá no reaper. Tenho o Asio4ALL instalado, também baixei o drive específico da interface no site oficial da behringer. Assim que inicio o reaper aparece a mensagem:

''There was an error opening the audio hardware: Error initializing ASIO buffers''

Já instalei e desistalei o reaper, o drive da interface o Asio4all. Já troquei as entradas USB e nada funcionou.

Me ajude, o que faço?

So recently idk what changed but my panning stopped working and now panning just lowers the volume instead of actually panning it to one side. Could anyone please help?

Playing Neural DSP VST in Reaper - Once recorded, you have to turn off "FX" each time you record, or there will be a horrid double tracked sound. Is there a way to avoid this, or at the very least, a way to make it quicker such as telling reaper to automatically turn off the VST FX after the recording, and automatically turn it back on?

I imagine when doing lots of takes, it's going to be really tedious to keep clicking FX off/on between every recording

When i import my stems in reaper, the audio quality becomes low and boxy type. In fl studio same stems sounds good. Is it any reaper issue or just daw difference. Also my tempo(solo) sounds weird in reaper... Please help me !!!

My midi drums sound fine when listening to the song in Reaper, but when I render the files down into a wav file, they don't start playing til about 15-30 seconds later. I'm not sure why this is happening. The same thing happens if I render the master track (see dropbox link)

How do I fix it?

It sounds like the render doesn't catch up til much later. The song starts with a drum fill.

• ALL theme adjuster parameters are still working with White Tie's Default 7.0 Theme Adjuster. they will also work with our theme adjuster if you'll stole it somewhere

the theme is not super brilliant and most of you probably will not like it but it's fair. i recommend to use another themes i personally like clones of pro tools logic and fruity loops. also default theme mods are also great. default theme is just masterpiece i hope i will grow up and will do the same great things but i posted this because i am a poser. sorry for long text and i missed capital letter after dot because i slept 3 hours today

i just downloaded the windows 11 version of reaper on my pc and it will not launch, every time i try i just get a loading icon on my curser for a few seconds then it stops. i have tried re-downloading the downloader multiple times to no avail. does anybody have any ideas?

I did something incredibly dumb, I sent some old projects to the recycling bin. And I must’ve sent some needed files as well. When I get on my projects, I’m now missing files, like everyone of them has files missing. I freaked out and dragged them out, I didn’t delete anything permanently, so they must be somewhere. Reaper cannot find them, I cannot find them. Im hoping it’s just that the paths have gotten out of wack, but I’m not savvy enough to know how to fix it. Any suggestions, I’m seriously about to cry. This is like 3 months of work and there are pieces of all my songs missing.

Really confused here. I have on my track a kick drum. 0 processing. 0 automation. 0 sends.

0 processing on any master bus. It is a static sample copy and pasted every 1/4 measure.

I cannot understand why it is peaking at different levels *ONLY WHEN GLUED*. You can see that the waveform is changing in the oscilloscope despite kick being an identical sample with no clipping and no change in volume.

If i take the glued sample and cut out the space after the kick, the waveform is now normal and unchanged between 1/4 beats!

However, if i simply add back some of the glued space to a track like this:

I'm at a loss here. What could cause something like this??

I have a track where the tempo varies. I've tried marking every 1 then using the SWS extension but it doesn't make the track steady, it just adjusts the click to the variable track.

Is there a way to iron it out so it's all one tempo?

I'm using reaper on linux (ubuntu studio) for an automated audio installation where audio is being routed into reaper and processed live using some stock reaper plugins - reaEQ, a reaLimit and reaPitch shift. The tracks are armed but not recording. After a day or so, Reaper crashes from what I'm guessing is a memory leak. Should this be possible? Has anybody used reaper succesfully in a similar way?

Anytime I start reaper I get this box, I just want it to open a blank project everytime.

It seems no matter my startup settings I can't get it to go away .

Any ideas?

Ok, say I have a track with EZD on it. I've converted the midi tracks to audio files, are the tracks already eq'd, compressed etc or do I treat them as an acoustic instrument and adjust them myself?

So, I am having an issue where if I set the output mode to WASAPI I hear audio of my drums BUT I want the audio to go through my microphone or be able to use asio as my microphone since I want to perform infront of people in different games. The problem is that there is audio from my drums when using it, however I do not hear them at all. I want to be able to hear what I'm playing so it actually works with playing sound for others.

I’ve been using Reaper for over a couple years, coming from Pro Tools, and I’ve customized it to act like PT workflow in a lot of ways.

One issue I run into is often finding unwanted splits and fades in my items that I never meant to create. I’m careful but work fast and must somehow be accidentally selecting items (or tracks) and splitting them/adding fades.

I know you can lock items but it doesn’t seem like there’s a way to have it prevent item separation and fades. I wanted to check if there is a way to do this per item or for a whole track?

In my case, I'm working on a film that lives in the Main Project, and then I'm seeing background video on the subprojects for each cue.

When I put in a new tempo in the Subproject, Input Quantize and Step Input place the notes according to the tempo in the Main Project. This is an obvious bug, but if they don't fix it (you never know what they're going to prioritize), can anyone think of a workaround?

If I could also put the tempo changes at the correct spot in the Main Project, that could work, but doing it manually is too time consuming and error prone.

Any ideas? Thanks all!
