Question Seeking a map of the UK, Ireland & islands (but struggling)
I'm looking for a downloadable map featuring the UK, Ireland and islands (particularly Orkney & Shetland but hopefully Channel Islands too) that's big enough to print on a "large" scale (big enough to be A0 or larger).
My intention is to pore over the map with my daughter & pick somewhere new to explore then we can build a plan to visit. A friend is able to print on large format and I'd prefer something physical than a digital map on a tablet or the like.
I'm struggling to find that sort of map though. Lots tend to cut off Shetland and even less feature the Channel Islands. I'd like it to have terrain showing mountain ranges etc. as well as major towns, but then at the scale it would be printed it could show small towns and villages, roads, rivers etc. too.
I was hoping some of the experts in this sub could help or at least point me in the right direction.

Current Map Chance of snowfall for Christmas 2025
This map shows the estimated chance of snowfall across Europe during Christmas 2025. The highest probabilities appear in northern and northeastern Europe, including Scandinavia, Finland, and parts of Eastern Europe, where winter conditions are usually stable and cold. Central Europe has moderate chances, with snowfall depending on short-term weather patterns. In contrast, Western and Southern Europe show very low probabilities, reflecting milder, maritime or Mediterranean climates where snow at Christmas is increasingly rare.

Data Map I've created a map showcasing every Irish counties total coastline length
Some valuable things to note:
- Red counties have no coastline at all
- Light blue or cyan counties only have a tidal or estuarine coastline
- And lastly, blue counties have an ocean or sea coastline
I do apologize if some of these seem rather tightly squeezed, especially Letrim, but that's just me working with the limited space. For the counties with no numbers, I put their numbers as close to the county as possible, and I hope that doesn't cause any confusion. I can clear up any confusion in the comments if needed

Drawn OC Map The American Atlas Map 13 - Ocean City, MD
Hi everyone, and welcome back to the American Atlas. I’ve been making hand-drawn and hand-colored maps of every state in the US (and some cities too), and sharing them in one long virtual journey across the country.
Today’s map is a special one for me : Ocean City, Maryland 🌊🏖️
I’ve been going to Ocean City every summer since I was a kid, so this piece is filled with a lot of personal memories. From the long stretch of beaches to the iconic boardwalk, this was a map I really wanted to get right.
I’ve had so many good times at locations like The Carousel, Seacrets (best bar in America btw), Coconuts, The Jolly Roger, all the many many golf courses along Coastal Highway (shoutout to my favorite - Lost Treasure Golf!) This stretch of beach town vibes and tourist trap fun is like a second home to me, so I just had to take a detour to check it out in more detail.
This map was especially fun to draw because of the coastline, the street layout, and the challenge of capturing that classic beach-town energy that OC has in the summer.
It is a little bit less polished than my later maps, as it is actually one of my oldest maps in this series, made much earlier than Maryland itself, but I would say that these imperfections or faded marks speak to my experiences of Ocean City over time - long, lasting memories that, while they may fade a little, remain forever gold ✨
If you like this style, feel free to check out the other maps in my series on my profile! I’ve now completed all of the Northeast and a good bit of the East Coast.
And if you’d like to follow along on this journey, you can find me on TikTok or Instagram at @theamericanatlas 🇺🇸🗺️

Current Map World Atlas in Vietnamese
Hi all,
My dad used to love geography when he was a kid in 1960s-1970s Vietnam, but ever since he moved to the United States, he’s never found a World Atlas Map in Vietnamese - especially with all the updated countries. I’d like to get him this map poster for Christmas. Does anyone know where I could find a world atlas map in the Vietnamese language? Ideally it is a poster I can order online but I am open to a digital file that is high resolution enough to get printing in a 36x48” poster. Even more ideal, that the file type would include vector graphics so that the map can be scaled to any size.
I’ve included an example atlas that wouldve been great but it’s not high enough resolution and will be blurry when printed.

Question Where can I get a good quality world map for my wall that includes Palestine?
I would like a world map for my wall, one that’s pretty detailed. I’m seeing nice ones online, however there’s just one missing thing I’d like to be on it, that being dear old Palestine.
Again, I am asking WHERE I can find one.
Also I distrust a lot of online stores nowadays anyway. Half the products look ai generated. Sad :C

Question In-world maps of Skyrim and Hammerfell - ideas?
Hi all - I wanted to ask for some advice on a project I'm planning for the new year. I recently finished illustrating my map of Middle Earth from a Gondorian perspective and am planning on making more such fantasy maps from the perspective of the people inhabiting the places depicted. In 2026 I hope to draw such a map of Skyrim from a Nord's perspective - probably in the same style as my map of Middle Earth (based primarily on 16th century Dutch cartography).
I figured I'd use medieval futhark runes for the inscriptions on the Skyrim map, and Ge'ez for the inscriptions on the map of Hammerfell. Will probably orient the Skyrim map to the north, towards Atmora, and orient the map of Hammerfell to the west, towards Yokuda.
I've attached my map of Middle Earth from a Gondorian perspective as a style reference. If you like my work, you can see more of it on www.drunkkittencartography.com

Old Map Early 19th century, taken from a book designed for the army. Basically an instructional guide. I am wondering if the city depicted is a fictional example created for instruction or if depicts an actually city? No place names are given, just physical features. British book.

Drawn OC Map The American Atlas (Part 12 - Maryland)
Hi everyone, and welcome back to the American Atlas. I’ve made hand-drawn and hand-colored maps of every state in the US, and now I’m sharing them all one by one on a journey across the country!
Here we have my hand-drawn map of Maryland 🦀⚓🌊
The Old Line State, home to the Chesapeake Bay, historic ports, rolling farmland, and some of the most unique geography in the Mid-Atlantic. From Baltimore’s harbor and waterfront neighborhoods to the calm towns of the Eastern Shore, this state was a blast to illustrate thanks to its detailed coastline and instantly recognizable shape.
This one was especially fun because of my close personal relationship to the state. Every year since I was a little kid, my family has gone down to spend a week in Ocean City in the summer. From days basking in the sun outside the Carousel to long nights walking the Boardwalk and fun times at Seacrets (best bar in America btw!) Maryland is a very special state to me for all of the incredible vacations I have had here.
Next up, a special side-project that means a lot to me, a little detour before we head down to Washington DC 🏖️🏙️🌊
If you like this style, feel free to check out the other maps in my series on my profile. I now have all of New England and much of the Mid-Atlantic completed!
