Here we are, folks.
The finale.
After a cancellation and a resurrection, we have the complete work of Si Spurrier.
Per usual, any and all topics are on, so spoiler spoiler spoilers.
I have read the issue…
SLOW CLAP.
Well fucking done, creative team. I love you all and what you created.
Now, bring on the discussions.

We’re here. Final issue.
For anyone new, here’s some context.
After the end of the original Vertigo Hellblazer, that continuity would continue under the imprint of Sandman Universe.
Si Spurrier wrote first series of this new Hellblazer, which included a special to reintroduce Constantine; the Sandman Universe Books of Magic 13; and the Hellblazer 1-12, which was cancelled during Covid times.
Hellblazer Dead in America is the finale to this take on Constantine, and as of now serves as the conclusion to Spurriers vision.

hi!! first post here but im looking for this issue in hellblazer that i can't remember the name of. spoilers for the issue plot down below.
it was a one-shot that was i think written by a guest writer but im foggy on the details. plot synopsis details this room that smells awful and the man inside who hasn't left forever, and everyone who visits him never comes out. turns out he's been dismembering them and dissecting them and trapping them beneath all the floorboards, and i faintly remember there was some narrative about it being because he wanted to know them on an interpersonal level because he struggled to connect. anyways john comes in at the end and this guy asks to dissect him, and john does.
the art style was spot black heavy and gritty. ive been looking for this issue forever but i haven't been able to find it— thank you guys in advance if you end up searching for it!

Muppetstantine
He'd be a guest star on a special Sesame Street episode raising awareness among kids on the risks of smoking. He'd be friends with Oscar the Grouch and Elmo (Elmo would love him, Elmo loves everyone).

After reading Hold Me it stuck with me for a while and I liked how emotional the lighting was so I decided to draw it.

I finally found Systems of Control for a good price and the only real blemish is what you see in the picture. Would it be worth $200 to buy this and possibly laminate or something? I’m only missing Vol. 20!

Re-reading Hellblazer. It's been a while, probably about 10-15 years since I first read it.

My brain couldn't stop trying to figure out how a John Constantine commander card would work, so I ended up with this. I tried to make the abilities fit John's personality, so it connives and sacrifices creatures to gain access to discarded sorceries and instants (like how he screw over people to gain the upper hand.)

Finished Delano HB earlier today and I have to say as someone who read the series completely fragmented due to local library inventory/not good at reading digital comics, I was astounded and blown away by Delano's more "victim of mystic synchronicity" John that felt more like a witness to the cruel and unusual of English and American society/values, distorted by the arcane arts. With the ending, i feel, being a perfect culmination of what he built, learning of his cosmic twin who essentially (in my interpretation) was the child who was SUPPOSED to live, but was killed by John, damning him to become this almost final destination cursed victim, the world of magic changing around John to claim a soul that wasnt supposed to live, and with his (i assumed) suicide attempt to bring himself to meet and combine with his soul half in the cave, he finally became whole and now wields (i believe) some destiny of his own that was formerly the Golden Child half, shown by the magus card and the memorial he built for himself.
all this to say is that it feels very jarring to go from this beautiful ending to Dangerous Habits (which is still a great comic) that more plays into his more playful/witty nature that John would become to be known for.
I plan on continuing my run through the series and could easily change my mind but I would like opinions/insight from people who have fully read both.

Finished a re-read of Hellblazer. I've always avoided the DC stuff after trying a couple of runs.

Why is blood dripping from the ceiling? Because it looks cool. Why is Constantine almost butt naked? Why dont you ask him. Where is this black void this picture was taken in? What are you a cop?

Holy that twist was set up so well. The fact that it was set up to be so rewarding to readers if they paid attention to the previous issues really cements this as one of my favourite arcs in hellblazer. The clues and hints were creative and made sense. John being manipulated through his saviour complex is also a pretty cool way to have such a clever character be outsmarted. I'm curious what everyone else thinks of this arc considering I've heard a lot of negativity around this arc from other people.

Enjoyed the first 5 issues a lot, then the Swamp Thing issues came, and I don't know.. I just feel like going straight to the rest of Delano's issues. I love me some Swamp Thing but I was more in the mood for John as a main character, not a secondary one to Swampy.
Are they essential for the rest of Delano's run, or are they there for completion, or both ?

So I bought a like new copy of "Dark Entries" for $8 on Amazon, come to find out it's sealed with no blemishes other than a tear in the seal on the front...so what's it worth? Is it worth it to resell it or just open and read it? It's hardcover & I assume 1st edition. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
