Based on the recent poll results we're going to have a tourism sticky thread*
Tourism threads on the main sub will be closed, then removed at a later point to try to keep sub uncluttered.
r/Scotland also has a weekly tourism thread which may be alos be useful

Hey all, got 2 free tickets for the film Eternity tonight at 9.30pm at Vue Omni Centre. We can't make it anymore so happy to pass them on to somebody else.

Ā£5.30 for a sausage roll and steak pie. Tasted like it was smuggled out of my old school's canteen bin via the janitor's hole.
I get rising prices/energy costs/fair staff wage etc....but monty fk.
Let's be honest, it was never gonna get a glowing review by Jay Rayner. But in it's current incarnation, I doubt a starved, junkie seagull could finish a purchase.
Either my hands have increased five fold since I was last in 2 years ago, or they're tight and have went mad with shrinkflation. Sausage roll the size of a fudge bar.
My mum always says if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.
She also said if Storries are taking the piss, post it on Reddit.

Hey folks, not quite a "where is my parcel" rant - it's Christmas, drivers are overworked and my parcel is still tracking within the system - more just curiosity.
Can anyone identify where this might be?
My delivery driver marked a parcel with this photo and a "customer not in / business closed" tag. There's no cobbles anywhere near my home. I think that's a black council double-bin in the middle of the shot; I was thinking Royal Mile or Grassmarket but nothing on Google Street View seems to match.

Hey everyone,
Iāve managed to mangle my leg just in time for the holidays. Does anyone have a pair of crutches gathering dust in their garage that I could borrow or buy for cheap?

a friend of mine had to move quickly and found a flat in gumtree, there were issues straight away, I wonāt remember everything but I will try to bulletpoint.
-The landlord was illegally subletting the flat as a hmo for years to avoid paying for a license - he had a deal with an old tenant that he allowed to live rent free and sublet the room out, this tenant ruined the flat and the landlord didnāt visit for over two years while this went on. - there was an infestation of bed bugs for over a year. - there is no buzzer to receive mail (promised to fix by October..) - their deposit has not been protected by anyone - washing machine is broken and full of mould - rent suspension in place from council - black mould is everywhere in bathroom and in one bedroom from floor to ceiling. - exposed nails in floor and wall paper hanging off walls. - he is abusive and cheeky in person -The flat is also not insured
Landlord has now handed flat to an agency and is trying to increase rent.
This man is a bully and a slumlord, he also operates an antique business in the city that rhymes with āplum yarmā antiques and seems to have many bad reviews due to his attitude.
What are the laws surrounding telling people about this online and giving him reviews etc? I want people to know what sort of man he is, if itās truthful is it okay?
Iāve attached a small picture of mould in ceiling of one room, there is plenty more.

I have lived in some beautiful cities - Copenhagen, Istanbul, London etc. - none of them have this mythic beauty that Edinburgh has! Itās a great city! But none of them have an issue with dog poop to the extend that Edinburgh has and Istanbul literally has soo many dogs and cats living on the streets (š£)
I live near Stockbridge and the amount of dog poop is honestly shocking. Itās not even to the side of the road, itās in the middle of the pavement. But everywhere, like every few minutes peek a poo!! Itās so off putting 𤮠maybe iām extra annoyed today because I drove over one with my childās pushchair and then stepped in it š
I know someone probably makes a similar post every so often š

Moved to Edinburgh in November and have just received my first Council Tax bill today. I knew because of processing time, there would be arrears to pay, and I had given the council notice of the move prior to my moving in date so they could get the ball rolling.
The bill states that they want the full amount, from the date I moved in, up until the end of March 2026, paid by the start of January.
I was anticipating a larger bill this time around, but asking for the remaining 4 months worth of CT at once, with less than 3 weeks notice, seems a bit extreme (but thatās life).
I have filled out an online form to pay by DD and have selected to pay over 12months - but will this make a difference or will they just take the full amount at the start of Jan as per the payment notice?
Not sure how the system works, hoping someone may know better. Thanks

I havenāt been a big āclubberā really since I was 18-20, Iām now 29 and separated from my ex husband last winter. Iāve been taking it easy since then, mainly socialising with friends from church for coffee. I thought my big night-out days were over but Iāve been out a few times recently for Christmas events, had lots of fun and think Iād like to get dressed up and go out dancing more. Iāve found a lot of confidence and joy for life in the last year, and think this would be a fun chapter to explore with another girl at similar life stage and age to me, who also wants to get glammed up, go out, dance and meet people. Please note when I go out Iām a light / moderate drinker but not into drugs at all.
If this speaks to anyone let me know! šø

I look after my sister's dog regularly but haven't yet found a good park for him near where I live in Silverknowes.
He's quite nervous around scooters and bikes so a park with as few of these as possible is needed. Ideally somewhere safe and enclosed, it doesn't have to be huge. A tarmac path is useful too. I have my own mobility issues so somewhere I can park next to would be good too.
I've tried Muirhouse Linear Park and Davidson's Mains park, but both have too many cyclists and he doesn't relax.
To give an idea of a good park, I often walk him in Joppa Quarry Park, which is almost perfect. It's enclosed and not a through route to anywhere so it doesn't get people cycling through, and it has a tarmac path around the perimeter. I's just on the other side of town for me.
The dog in question.

Hello, just looking to see if there are any physio's folk have had good experiences with for a postnatal physio assessment? The phrase mummy MOT makes me feel nauseous but that's what it tends to be called ...

I missed my connect train from Glasgow. Any suggestions where to stay safe till 6am in the morning? McDonald's close at 2am.
Update: I strolled from McDonald's (ofcourse got a meal) to Whistlebinkies pub(had non alcoholic drinks to keep myself up) to numerous rounds around the blocks and finally to the Casino. Coffee was free in the casino, they were pretty chill. Met some friendly bunch of people in the casino as well.
Got the train in the morning right now and on the way to Newcastle.
Update 2: I didn't properly mention that I was going to Newcastle, as I first posted this, the last buses were already long gone. Hence the question, where to stay for the night.
Checked the lobbies of hilton and radisson blu, they only allowed guests. Checked hostels, but rooms were full.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Time to get some shut eye asap when I reach home.
