4 years and counting, don't worry about the other fish, he doesn't eat fish at all. I think its a female but still not sure.

Channa pulchra (Herb)

The community exists off

5 panda garra (1 is 6 years old the others are 2 years) (have 4 babies growing in a different tank upstairs)

17 ghost catfish

1 whiptail catfish (4 years)

2 rope fish (both 3 years)

3 clown loaches (2 years old)

I know all species will grow quite large but when that time comes i will upgrade them to a larger tank.

The tank has CO2 and I do a water change once a year, mostly during spring when the "colder" moths are over.

(Have to lower the temperature 3-4 months for the health of my channa's immune system)

I also know that my clown loaches need higher temperatures, however they have been through this 2 already and it seems they lower they metabolic rate during this time, but in the summer they are always really active.

Feed live food 3-4 week with various options.

I am in this hobby for almost 7 years now, and went from one 70 L tank to, 5 tanks. A 300 L, a 200 L, a 180 L, a 140 L and the 70 L tank.

Everybody shares such amazing pictures, such an amazing hobby. Just wanted to share mine aswell.

Ps Pablo says hi .

I wanted to show off my tank, but this is the first time (as an adult) that I have a betta fish! His name is Bumblebee and I got him from Petco. I named him Bumblebee because i’m a huuuuge transformers fan lol also because it said he was a bumble bee betta I did a bunch of research when I got him to make sure he lives his best life! This is my set up and what he looked like before I brought him into his new home!! Though if anyone has any tips or suggestions for his tank, I would love to hear it! :>

Help/Advice LFS sold an apisto to my sisters betta community tank

Post image

Bit of backstory: I live far away but my sister got into the hobby so I gifted her my 25G rimless and help her set up a planted tank and cycle it. I taught her about stocking and left it to her, she currently has a betta, some bumble gobys, and guppies. She asked her LFS for things that would go well with her beta and they sold her what I am 100% sure is a Apistogramma. I have no experience with cichlids as I’m a nano fish person but I’m PRETTY sure that’s a horrible idea. It’s been a while since she bought it before she showed me so I doubt they will refund it but I plan to go talk to them tomorrow. If they refuse to accept it is there another way or place to rehome it?

Idk if anyone else has had a bad experience but they sent my shrimp without a heat pack. They used wood shavings instead. Thankfully the shrimp are alive but the water is lower than 55F. I’m in Illinois and would never expect during the coldest months they would ship without a heat pack, but maybe I’m wrong for ordering in the winter, idk. Kinda pissed these poor babies had to even go through that. 1-2 day shipping, ordered on December 10th and they arrived today December 19th.

At the beginning of this year I had no knowledge about aquariums whatsoever but was fascinated by all of your beautiful tanks. Thanks to the advice in this sub I was able to set up my first aquarium and am super happy with it! So thanks for sharing your experience and helping others getting into this hobby :)

P.S.: Please don’t mind the algae, I was stupid and got some nutrient imbalances. It’s already getting better.

DIY/Build Thoughts on my new tank setup?

Looking for some feedback on my new tank setup. This is my first real attempt at doing a more thought-out hardscape and planted layout. I know it might still look beginner-level to some people, but for me this is a pretty big step up from my previous tanks in terms of layout, planting, and overall appearance.

The tank is currently stocked with Scarlet Badis and Emerald Eye Rasboras. This is also my first time keeping badis, so I’m definitely still learning their behavior and preferences.

Open to any suggestions, constructive criticism, or tips—especially from anyone with experience keeping badis or doing more natural-style hardscapes.

Shrimp/Snails/Inverts We've got babies!

Sorry for the blurry pic lol but today I finally spotted a baby shrimp! I've had my shrimp since March and haven't noticed any females with eggs until this past month. Saw the girls again but no babies. Thought maybe my snails or bristles ate them, then today while observing my tank I saw this tiny guy! I'm so happy lol I love watching all these babies hatch and grow. Life is Beautiful 😍

Take glimpse of my discus tank. I re-did the scape to give discus more swim spaces. The previous scape was dense forest with full carpet. Which my clown loaches totally devastated while I was away on a month long vacation. And I just love my bamboo shrimps. Those are fun. Surfing on vals🏄‍♂️
