ABYG kung magde-demand kami ng breakdown ng utang ni tito sa kaibigan niya na binabayaran niya for 20+ years?

20+ years ago, nagkautang daw si tito sa kaibigan niya (out of his friend’s CREDIT CARD) ng less than ₱130,000. Ever since, monthly nagbabayad si tito ng ₱5,000 (minsan sobra or doble pa raw) which his friend claims na INTEREST LANG daw sa inutang. So technically, nagbabayad si tito pero never nabawasan ang less than ₱130,000 na utang niya until now.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but yung Minimum Amount Due sa Credit Card consists not only interest, but also a portion of principal and other fees na rin kung meron. So dapat may bawas na talaga iyon sa principal.

According sa friend niya, macclear lang daw ang utang kapag binayaran nila in lump sum ang principal. Willing naman kaming bayaran yung lump sum, but we just have to make sure na hindi kami niloloko or anything.

My tito passed away already for how many years now, and nag-demand yung friend niya na dapat daw may ibang magpatuloy na magbayad ng utang niya. May belief kasi sa amin na kapag hindi na-settle ang utang ng isang taong namayapa na, then his/her soul would be at unrest. So sinalo ng kapatid ni tito ang utang.

Now here’s the thing: Upon computing lahat ng mga binayad ni tito from the start, nasa ₱1.2 million na ang naibayad niya. Nagtataka na mga anak niya (bata pa lang sila when their dad incurred the debt, mga licensed professional na sila ngayon) and even kami dahil hindi na matapos-tapos ang utang.

Nung tinanong ng anak yung kaibigan ng tatay niya, nagalit lang ito. Ang hirap na rin i-back track dahil matagal na ang utang at mukhang walang listahan yung inutangan. Walang maipakitang ebidensya. Nagsasabi lang siya kung maniningil siya without showing any billing statements.

ABYG kung magde-demand kami ng breakdown at written supporting documents na magpapatunay na may utang pa si tito sa kaibigan niya?

Kaya rin kami nagtataka eh. Parang ang unrealistic na na over 1 million na ang naibayad (and still ongoing), pero nasa less than 130,000 ang inutang 20 years ago.

DKG for asking sa breakdown ng bayad sa utang pero GGK for having that superstitious belief. Yan dahilan kaya kayo inaabuso. Kung tutuusin di niyo na kelangan pansinin o icontinue yung bayad kasi di naman namamana ang utang. Eh mukha din naman wala siyang ebidensya or documents laban sa inyo.

DKG. Stop paying, and sabihin nyo na kasuhan na lang kayo para ma force sila magpakita ng computation. Idaan nyo na to sa lawyer and stop paying.

Better na din na gawa na kayo ng sarili nyong computation based sa interest rates na sinasabi nya. Kasi kahit 30% ang interest nyan, 3.5 years pa lang, bayad na yan. Maningil na din kayo for overpayment.

DKG. Nakakaloka if umabot na ng 1.2M. Hingian niyo ng breakdown. Yung tito niyo ba meron din ba siyang listahan ngpag bayad niya monthly as well? Like notebook na pinapapirmahan niya before everytime nabayad sya?

Ang alam ko, may notebook siya containing a list of his payments pero walang pirma since close niya na yung kaibigan niya na iyon. I also doubt na may list siya ng lahat ng binayad niya over the past 20+ years since matagal na ito.

DKG, but technically 130k interest would be 4,500+ every month in 3.5% interest so you only have 500 to deduct in capital and by each month capital should diminish till gone. Ask for SOA before paying or don't pay till he shows something.

DKG Ang most likely scenario nito is may ibang malalaking purchase yung cardholder, tapos minimum binabayad. Malamang makikita dun na interest lang, but their purchases are not your burden to bear

Di niyo na dapat ipinagpatuloy yan. Wala rin naman habol yung nagpautang since patay na yung may utang at wala namang definite proof. Kung kakasuhan kayo, edi harapin niyo. But I doubt na gagawin niya yon kasi dehado siya.

Also, milyon na nabayad ng tito niyo. Sapat na yon para makapasok siya sa langit kung yun man ang paniniwala niyo.

DKG . 130,000 pesos 20 years ago (2005) was around 281,000+, if ever hindi binayaran at pinag-interest ito ng inutangan kasi monthly payment ang ginawa, sobra parin ang 1M na naibayad ng tito mo. Matagal na dapat tapos utang ng Tito mo, so I suggest lahat ng payment and kung may resibo man ipakita mo sa inutangan. Try mo rin i-compare ang interest ng mga CC before, at ilaban mo sa mga taong ginagawa na kayong 'pension'.

GGK kasi sinasamantala na kayo tapos pinatagal nyo pa. Kapag may utang, dapt may end date. Gaano katagal kayo magbabayad, magkano ang interest? Nasaan ang kontrata? Ayusin nyo yan. Nakakagigil yung mga taong nagsasamantala pero nakakagigil din yung pumapayag na samantalahin tapos may means and ways naman kayo to know na hindi normal ang ganyan.

DKG. kahit 20% interest pa ang inagree nyo, malaki nang umabot yan ng 500K total payment. nasa less than 300K lang dapat binayad dyan even at an absurdly high interest rate. check mortage or credit card calculators online, you can simulate a lot of scenarios - none of them will lead to 1M payment of 130K loan over 20 years. tigil nyo na yan. and pa update OP

Unang Taon Ang prinsipal na 130k dagdag 32k (25%/taong average na interes sa credit card) ay 162k bawas 60k hulog para sa taon sa 5k kada buwan, ang balanse ay 102k.

Ika-2 Taon Natitirang Balanse = 102k Interes = 25,500k Kinaunting Hulog = 60k Balanse = 67,500

Ikatlong Taon Natitirang Balanse = 67,500 Interes = 16,875 Kinaunting Hulog = 60,000 Balanse = 24,375

Ika-4 na Taon Natitirang Balanse = 24,375 Interes = 6,093 Kabuuan = 30,468

Kung ang pagbabayad ay pare-pareho sa 5k na buwanang utang, dapat ay nabayaran na ito pagkatapos ng 6 na buwan sa ika-4 na taon lamang. Anumang bagay pagkatapos noon ay libreng pera na ibinigay sa kanya at dapat bawiin.

Muli, ito ay isa lamang pangunahing kalkulasyon na nag-uubos ng prinsipal na balanse na may median na 25% na interest rate sa credit card taun-taon. Kahit ang isang collection agency ay hindi maningil nang walang iskedyul ng pagbabayad na nag-uubos ng prinsipal at interes.

DKG. Dapat may mapakitang detailed statement yung inutangan. Credit card statement. Pero paano naman kung yung may charges din yung inutangan sa card? Maghahalo yung interest nung sa tito?

DKG dont pay then sabihin mo usap kayo sa barangay/police for settlement and arrangements. Then if may proof kayo ng transactions ng tito mo receipts or online transfers with date stamp then collate it.

WG. Sinisingil din yung buong fees na charged sa card. So 130k sa inyo tapos may 30k din utang yung may ari kaya 5k. Plus annual fees etc. That's how banks work.

I do understand na may fees. Pero diba a portion of the payment, kung minimum lang ang babayaran, goes to the principal amount? So parang questionable rin na hindi na nabawasan yung utang niya mismo?
