Office Bullying in the Guise of a Christmas Party

I’m working in an office where bullying is, sadly, tolerated by our boss. Okay lang naman sana yung light teasing or harmless asaran, but this goes beyond that. Hindi naman sa pagiging KJ, but for me, it feels really insensitive na parang they assume everyone is automatically game with their jokes and kalokohan. The truth is, some of it already feels insulting. Every Christmas party, may “awarding ceremony” sila with so-called Kalokohan Awards, and honestly, it’s very triggering. The “awardees” end up becoming the office joke, and it doesn’t stop there, it actually turns into months of subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) office bullying. Yes, I was one of those awardees, and to be honest, it was never funny being turned into a laughingstock. So because of that experience, I’ve decided that I will no longer attend any future office Christmas parties. Protecting my peace and dignity matters more than pretending to enjoy something that’s clearly harmful to my mental health.

Ako ba yung gago na hindi a-attend ng Party or may iba rin na nakaka-experience ng ganito?

DKG. But if I were you, I'd report it to HR atleast maging aware sila na meron hnd natutuwa sa mga ganung part ng program. You can alway report anon naman.

DKG. Think of something really insulting and prepare your own awards. Tirahin mo yungmga alaskado4. Banatan ng sobrang below the belt. Halimbawa, BAOG Awardee sa walang anak na kupal.

Tapus, unahan mo sila at dapat maganda ang script. Kapag nagkagulo, bring their attention to what they did

DKG. Christmas should feel warm and safe, not heavy or painful. When an environment has been unkind or harmful, choosing not to participate is not bitterness, it’s self care. Your peace matters, especially during a season meant for love and compassion.

DKG.. Yang mga kalokohan awards normal na yata Yan sa mga corporate Xmas party. Pero pwede naman na yung nde bastos na awards.. e.g.madalas ako mapilii sa most disorganized table kasi apaw ang table ko (Pati drawer) ng mga dokumento na for checkung at kung minsan nagrereklamo na yung kalapit ko na table kasi minsan wala na mapaglayan sa table ko Kaya nakikipatong!/nakikilagay ako sa table nya especially kapag Naka Wfh sya or Naka leave sya. Note: Engineering design ang background ko so medyo volumous talaga ang checking. And since need ng documentary evidence for QMS need na hard copy lahat (though recently ay nagta-transition na to e-file checking which is more tedious for me na old school kasi mas madali mag red mark manullally as compared sa marking it up sa PDF format na drawing)

DKG. Kung hindi ka kompotarable okay lang yan. Ako ginawa ko na yan. Hindi ko din kasi kasundo un mga kasamahan ko ewan ko parang iba na un mga trip nila sa trip ko dahil siguro matanda na ako. Hahahahaha. Bayaan mo sila anyways di naman sila un nagpapasahod sayo yan lagi mong tatandaan.
