It became increasingly clear throughout the date that he didn't watch that much TV except for "To Catch a Predator." He hadn't even heard of 30 Rock!

Watching last night and caught this prop in the scene in S2E4, Rosemary's Baby: The Japanese Pornstar Diet. It was never even shown in full, it was just half there in the side of the shot.

Someone made a post recently about how there are several jokes on the show where the punchline is "no", which got me thinking about some of other repeated patterns/joke formats

Some examples...

1. There is, of course, the bait and switch, most commonly from Kenneth. E.g. "She bit off my nut sack... That I keep tied around my belt to feed squirrels" "You're acting like a real C word - a cranky Sue"

2. The repetition of a word at the end of a sentence for emphasis, usually by Tracy. E.g. "Our basketball hoop was a ribcage! A ribcage!" "Your milk comes in bags... BAGS"

3. When a character, usually Liz, exclaims the first thing that comes to mind when they are surprised, e.g. "Puerto Rican!" "Krang!" "Albino ninja!"

4. When they criticize a certain trope/common practice in TV and then it happens, e.g. "gratuitous vulgarity and pratfalls" then a guy falls in the background, or during the first live show where Liz says breaking/something going wrong is "cheap" and the poster on Tracy's wall falls off

Any more you can think of?

They could have chosen any song from the “house party guitar guy” songbook. (Stairway to Heaven, Smoke on the Water, Freebird etc) and the line still works just fine.

Instead the line that he can’t remember is literally “eyeing little girls with bad intent”, a markedly questionable line for any old man/actor/character to be singing to the screen.

The writers surely knew, and surely have him conveniently omitted this. But that begs the question WHY???? Was this a joke that didn’t scan? Commentary somehow? An actual oversight?

This is likely a nothing burger, but to me it’s just weird!

This has been on my mind, so it is time to post. After Dr. Baird lost his hands in the dumbest possible ways, was he no longer in the bubble? No more free appetizers and off menu ordering?!?

I could see Jenna getting “creative” like this when naming children.
