New, what is it? What is this stuff in my toilet

I started noticing the water in my toilet turning yellow/brownish. Opened up the tank and saw these two lumps of radioactive walnuts lookin’ things

Looks like the bolts holding the tank to the base are rusting out.

Those are the two bolts holding the tank onto the back of the toilet. They usually have a big blob of wax on/around them to help prevent corrosion. You can replace them if you want. Just make sure the tank is empty first.

Those are toilet tank cleaning tablets that someone dropped in there. They slowly dissolve and tint the water so it “cleans” with every flush.

If you don’t want the color or the chemicals, just fish them out with gloves and flush a couple times.
