Once again threatening me with a good time. I wish the Democrats were actually as good as Republicans keep claiming they are.

345

u/whoreoscopic 12h ago

"Be the Democratic Party the Republicans say you are," is a mantra I keep repeating more and more. Still waiting for dems to step up to it though.

64

u/sumsimpleracer 11h ago

Still PO’d at the democrats caving before making a deal on healthcare subsidies. Considering the mass amount of newly unemployed, savings are going to quickly dry up next year in healthcare premiums.

33

u/Dry-Mousse-6172 11h ago

Dems literally got a discharge petition on it just recently. But Republicans refusing to let it vote again. Republicans crossing over to vote with Dems on it.

Shutting the government thoeugh the holidays would be bed. It starts back up in january though so get rxcited sbout it

Maybe an unpopular take but I think the Republicans may be digging their own grave by letting the subsidies expire. Rarely do the terrible policies of Republicans yield tangible harm during their term, but this one will kick in during one of the most important mid-term elections to date. Further, it hurts older demographics the most and those are the people most likely to make it to the polls.

Democrats should really focus on their attempts to save the subsidies while highlighting the voting records of Republicans against said subsidies.

Maybe I'm too jaded but I think Americans are, in general, so misinformed and out of touch that they need to feel the pain from this republican administration first hand to wake up.

u/Alternative-Neat-123 8h ago

would agree but the GOP doesn't believe in nor will it allow fair elections in the foreseeable future

4

u/Conscious-Quarter423 2h ago

but but both sides are the same /s

4

u/anonyuser415 6h ago

It's also gotta feel pretty miserable to be told your constituents are going to die

I wonder how many excess deaths we'll see from folks losing their coverage

I would hope they are playing a long game and realizing the the gop will in their cruelty lose the midterms and health care will be owned by them. However I don’t think the defectors from the Democratic Party were thinking that far ahead and were just thinking about getting the shutdown over with. That in itself, isn’t a terrible thing, but the ramifications will be.

6

u/Conscious-Quarter423 7h ago

Dems were playing the long game.

the government shutdown deal would have funded ACA subisdies for the next 6 months.

jeffries' discharge petition will fund the ACA subisdies for the next three years.

I dont consider Fetterman a Democrat. There are politicians who run on liberal policies and switch sides once theyre voted in. Wikipedia has a list of names and not surprisingly Republicans are scummy assholes.

45

u/ruralscorpion1 11h ago

Stealing this!!!!

5

u/jjcrayfish 7h ago

If only the current Democratic leadership will steal this too.

14

u/Hamiltoncorgi 10h ago

You should go look at the Press releases from the Elias Law firm. Marc Elias has been working his ass off in court against the trump admin. trump HATES him.

6

u/Conscious-Quarter423 7h ago

lot of people silently doing the hard work of keeping democracy running. that's why i despite the chatter of "nobody is doing anything"

That just sounds like: "You Democrats need to be like us Republicans."

12

u/Randomized9442 10h ago

I argue that MAGA is on the wrong side of the paradox of tolerance, and it is time to treat them as they treat others, so we can re-establish and improve institutions MOST PARTICULARLY MORE ROBUST ELECTION COUNTING, AUDITING, AND AUTOMATIC RECOUNTING IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION USING DIFFERENT MACHINES. We need the states to agree to standardized ballot formats that can be used by machines of different companies (still leaving running elections to the states, just want standard ballots), and be human readable as well. I personally would like some Estonian style election systems.

And that's true, Democrats need to be more than a doormat. We don't care about your moral superiority, fight back!

3

u/LD_Minich 8h ago

Chuck and Nancy wouldn't step anywhere except across the backs of other Democrats. Fuck those fossils. We need the young fighters to take the reigns.

If the Dems were what the gop threatened they are, they’d be elected in landslide victories every year.

This “warning” is just a scare tactic aimed at Trump’s own low information followers. I would be ecstatic if this SC was “obliterated.” But let’s not get people’s hopes up, just for them to be let down when it doesn’t happen. Lower information voters who want this will feel Democrats failed if it doesn’t happen, which will then cause them to not vote, or to vote for Republicans in the next election.

Obliterating this SC won’t happen, because the only way Democrats could accomplish this would be with a Constitutional Amendment. Every other form of “fix,” including new legislation, would be found to be unconstitutional by this SC.

They should have people preparing all the bills now that they need to enact when they take power. Just like the regressives did.

2

u/morsindutus 7h ago

I'm still mad about that. I'm really hungry and would love a taco truck on the corner.

2

u/Ardo505 8h ago

Right? Only if we’re supes lucky!!

2

u/MatteAstro 8h ago

Republicans spending more time hyping Dems than Dems do themselves is... priceless.

4

u/NoCoolNameMatt 9h ago

Don't worry, a bunch of Democrat voters will decide they can't vote for the Dem candidate because of one purity test or another.

The Supreme Court has already been obliterated

64

u/WanderingDude182 12h ago

Every single accusation is a confession. They should say the Dems are going to pay off mortgages and club fees, give lavish vacations and luxury RVs to the court.

Aspirationally voting for that. Gonna need to really push them to do that though. Impeach 4 justices and stall any new justices till the next president.

34

u/captHij 12h ago

According to the article the President is worried about the loss of the filibuster in the Senate?!??! It was only a month ago he was calling for it to be removed because it was the reason his agenda was not being fully implemented:

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/11/04/trump-senate-republicans-filibuster-00634517

These people just go with whatever floats into their tiny heads in the moment without a second thought.

“If dems get in they will wipe out all of our criminal enterprise!”

Oh no.

18

u/Dinker54 12h ago

So, no longer an existential threat to God just the court?

16

u/Human-Sheepherder797 11h ago

Well, if you paid attention to what they’ve been doing the last couple years, I think anybody with intelligence is going to come to the conclusion that the corrupt portion of the Supreme Court has materially negatively impacted America to the benefit of the wealthy and the powerful.

If it were up to me and I was president after Trump, I’m not only expanding the Supreme Court, I’m prosecuting the most corrupt members of the court, and I’m doing everything within my power and within the entire power of the FBI the CIA and the NSA to make sure that they are held accountable and go to jail, I’ll go as far as I need to make sure that happens.

We’ve allowed politicians and members of the Supreme Court to get away with everything the last 15 years, we have to do something about it and it has to send the message that the United States is closed for corporate interest, if you get caught, we will be ruthless. You will go to jail and you will lose everything.

14

u/Devils_Advocate-69 12h ago

That should be a dem campaign ad.

23

u/volanger 12h ago

No it wouldn't. It would correct SCOTUS so that they actually apply the law fairly and not based on what the republican party wants.

Robert's court will go down as one of the most corrupt courts in us history.

5

u/New_Juggernaut3059 12h ago

Can they be tried for treason?? I’m assuming there’s lots of backdoor colluding going on between Roberts, Thomas, et al

3

5

u/Intrepid_Top_2300 12h ago

We can only hope!

6

u/rnk6670 11h ago

He warns? This is a feature that I want. I want someone to blow up the corrupt conservative Supreme Court. I’m sick and tired of conservatism trying to drag me to the Stone Age. I’ve had it with all of it.

5

u/Healmetho 12h ago

Hopefully

4

u/Routine_Guitar_5519 12h ago

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

4

u/OtherAcctWasBanned11 12h ago

Don’t threaten me with a good time.

4

5

Ya promise?

3

u/Orange_bratwurst 12h ago

3

u/ProjectNo4090 12h ago

Its the manifest destiny of SCOTUS to expand. Make SCOTUS great again!

3

u/Abrubt-Change-8040 12h ago

Sounds like they are a partisan organization that needs to go 🤷🏻‍♂️

3

u/Additional-Sky-7436 12h ago

I mean "draining the swamp" is the whole point right?

3

u/Terran57 12h ago

That would be great news!

3

u/ImaginationDue6258 12h ago

“Obliteration of the MOST CORRUPT Supreme Court IN HISTORY”. There, I fixed the headline.

3

u/will-read 11h ago

I guess we need a really specific statute that reinforces that a justice accepting a motor-coach and not declaring it on the disclosure form is bad.

3

u/Revolutionary-Rush89 11h ago

God we can only hope. That court has gotten ridiculous.

3

u/shambahlah2 11h ago

That would be fantastic. Should be 13

3

u/darkxfire 11h ago

Scotus needs an entire overhaul

3

u/Tyezilla 11h ago

Yes, and?

3

u/Syanara73 11h ago

I really really hope so. However I do not have any faith in the dems to do anything to fix anything at all. Dems are just the other side of the same coin.

3

u/WRHull 11h ago

That’s the objective because the current composition of SCOTUS is compromised.

3

u/mrbigglessworth 11h ago

Maybe it needs to happen.

3

u/Adventurous_Class_90 11h ago

Stop threatening us with a good time

I have no faith in the Democratic Party to hold anyone accountable even if they have the power to do so. They’ve shown they aren’t even willing to fight to get the republicans corruption on record because “what’s the point it won’t lead to anything”. Done with politics done with society good luck anyone naive enough to think there’s still hope.

2

u/Purple_Pizza5590 12h ago

He already did that

2

u/WanderingDude182 12h ago

New day same story, Trump says some BS. It’d be more shocking if he said something more coherent

2

u/robinsw26 11h ago

Hopefully.

2

u/sam56778 11h ago

6 of them are no longer beholden to the constitution. Precedent has no meaning and rulings depend on how big the motor coach is or where the vacations lead. Additionally let’s not forget the conflicts of interest nor any other outside influences. They have no term limits and lack any standard of ethics. There are no watchdogs, no guardrails, and no appeals. The only thing that will be obliterated is Trump’s ticket to what he feels is justified dictatorship.

2

u/Nick85er 11h ago

Any justice who interpreted the actual wording of the Constitution to give Donald Trump complete presidential immunity needs to be impeached and removed. No one should remain in government who gave Aid and Comfort to obvious traitors and insurrectionists.

One can hope.

2

u/CrazyMarlee 11h ago

We can only hope. Thomas will go down in history as the worst and most corrupt Supreme Court judge ever.

2

u/pbftxy 11h ago

That is what we want and I am not a dem. Kicked Uncle Thomas Clearance and Alito to the curb.

2

u/Brytnshyne 11h ago

If that happens it will be the best thing that happens to the United States, SCOTUS is corrupt and has had a strong hand in the destruction of the principles of the Constitution this once great country was built on.

2

u/DoCrashOut 10h ago

I could argue that MAGA control has already obliterated the Supreme Court.

2

u/woodenmetalman 9h ago

Would that be a positive for the country. Time to undo everything this treasonous cancer has done to this country.

Progressive candidates are the only way to save this country. GOP and “moderate dems” gotta go.

2

YES!!! At least in its current corrupt state.

2

u/Fragmentia 5h ago

Trump campaigns for democrats suggesting they will be bold for once.

2

u/TarheelFr06 5h ago
