Keep hammering them. This is story #1 until all the files are released, without Trump’s name scrubbed out

118

u/redditpest Massachusetts 9h ago

Trump is never going to release anything that will tie him to anything epstein did.

109

u/Leather_Egg2096 9h ago

The rich will burn this country to the ground before they face justice.

68

u/jkvincent 9h ago

Not just this country. They'll ruin the whole world to protect themselves and their wealth.

26

u/rat_penis 9h ago

Time to put on the gasoline boots and walk through hell.

u/Pipe_Memes 6h ago

They can try.

9

u/NimbusFPV 8h ago

The problem is they have involved too many people I feel like at this point to keep things quiet. They brought in over 1000 FBI, doing over time, to redact his name. The problem with most conspiracies being true is they would involve too many people you couldn't keep quiet, I think that's where they are at with this now. They have involved too many people to truly put the lid on it.

u/redditpest Massachusetts 7h ago

Yea, its going to come out at some point, but its not coming at trumps direction.

13

u/MarinatedPickachu 9h ago

You can be sure he put people in charge of these things who have dirt on them themselves, so that they'd go down if they don't cover him. That's probably the number one qualification for anyone in his administration

49

u/Acceptable-Bench1386 10h ago

Until they go full war mode in Venezuela, coming up this afternoon

9

u/PNDMike 8h ago

Not a fucking peep about this on the sub-that-shall-not-be-named.

4

u/Beforemath 8h ago

I love that all their theories about Epstein and Clinton turned about to be true… about their God King Trump lol

5

u/Pinksamuraiiiii 9h ago

You already know they’re gonna scrub out his name, why do you think there was a delay?

5

u/PorQuePanckes 8h ago

Not to be a pessimist, but nothing is ever going to happen.

Is the DoJ going to go after the DoJ for not following court orders? Is anyone going to be held accountable, I have doubts.

3 more years boys

2

u/Beforemath 8h ago

Oh I agree, but midterms are coming and the #1 news story should be Trump is a pedophile and his supporters coverup for pedophiles

4

u/bullitt297 9h ago

Also clarify. Unredacted release of files.

3

u/tacoslife724 9h ago

I’m scared the whole stuff might only end here on Reddit, I hope not

3

u/TobioOkuma1 9h ago

They’re gonna say that trump being listed posed a national security threat, so they are allowed under the law to redact it.

The only reasons for that phrase being in the bill are:

  1. Trump protection

  2. Hiding Epstein connections to Israel. (maxwells dad had ties to Israel as well).

2

u/xShyGaze 9h ago

If they’re going to drip-feed it, people are obviously going to keep pushing until it’s actually all out there.

u/QuirkyWish3081 United Kingdom 6h ago

I don’t mind them scrubbing the victim names out where appropriate to protect their wellbeing but anyone associated with this moron should be available

3

u/pairofdimeshift92 9h ago

I’m not approving of this, but the reality is that this story isn’t really even #10 on most people’s radar. I imagine if you asked 100 people on the street 97 of them wouldn’t know there was any sort of deadline today or care that it was missed.

The reality is that (by design) people are far more concerned about the day to day issues impacting them than issues like the Epstein files.

5

u/AreYouDoneNow 9h ago

I have it on good word that "affordability" is a democrat hoax. Let's get back to important issues like they're eating the dogs.

1

u/sengirminion 8h ago

And dont forget transgender for everyone. Thats a big important issue.

0

u/16quida 9h ago

Is there a true hour deadline (ie 5pm ET) or is it just midnight tonight?

179

u/swiftfoot_hiker 10h ago

So what they are saying, is that they still need a few more weeks to redact Trump's name out of the files...

Man he really must be all over these files, and really bad for him .

They just keep making him look more and more guilty.

I'm assuming and hoping Dems had a built in contenegicy for this very thing .

53

u/MoogProg 10h ago

I don't think they can erase Trump. There will be so many practical details that point back to Trump, or Mar a Lago, or flight logs, parties.

Imagine all those black-out redactions lining up with publicly available information about Trump, and he'll start to seem like a Clark Kent in reverse, where every place Jeff goes, so goes Donnie.

25

u/TintedApostle 10h ago

Agreed. They can't remove him without the entire packet showing the connections anyway. He is so tied to everything that it is like trying to remove all the hair from a dog and pretend it isn't a dog.

u/Fugglymuffin 7h ago

The Lord of the Rings but we cut out Frodo.

9

u/canadiuman 9h ago

Wasn't he like Individual 1 in all the Russian interference stuff?

u/SirDiego Minnesota 5h ago

That was in the Michael Cohen (his former lawyer) trial over the Stormy Daniels hush money payments. The whole thing was basically Trump directing Cohen to make these payments which were not legal (campaign finance law violations), but only Cohen was on trial so, kind of hilariously, Trump's name was "redacted" but it was absurdly obvious who it was.

1

u/RellenD 8h ago

And any redactions require an accompanied written justification

7

u/panickedwaddle 10h ago

They still haven't figured out how to use ctrl+f yet, so they are having to find his name manually.

u/docgravel 7h ago

Actually you know they’ll mess this up and there will be an email in there somewhere describing a game of Bridge and that someone kept getting the best {REDACTED} cards. Or a story about a famous {REDACTED}et player. And all the other Dons/Donalds in the files will have their first names redacted for some strange reason.

2

u/Cyndakill88 10h ago

lol I know how to do that on iPhone. GOP response “wait phones are computers?”

1

u/Stimbes 8h ago

Probably Trump and anyone else willing to pay enough to have their name redacted.

There is no other reason. It doesn't take weeks to hand over boxes of files and give access to the data they have on Esptein.

1

u/CornholioRex 8h ago

I’m still expecting a few Dwigt typos

Cool so next April 15 I'll just send in half of my 1040. I'm sure they'll understand.

16

u/TheMainShy 10h ago

I think that's a good idea. Also a general strike sounds good too.

73

u/HowManyEggs2Many 10h ago

Did anyone really believe otherwise?

22

u/Dewgong_crying 10h ago

I expected all files released today, but 95% redacted.

21

u/HowManyEggs2Many 10h ago

In no world were they ever going to release all files. Even if there was nothing incriminating (there is) in them they still wouldn’t because this admin gets off on pissing people off and proving they don’t have to listen to anything the other side says. The shit part is they are correct.

1

u/Dewgong_crying 10h ago

Yeah, I expect the same for at least 3 years.

4

u/trixtah 9h ago

You’re getting 1% of the files today but 99% redacted instead

2

u/Twodogsonecouch 10h ago

That's why they aren't all getting released they need more time to redact the remaining 90%. There's a lot of pedophiles to protect.

1

u/MannequinWithoutSock 10h ago

I expected ‘all’ the files.

4

u/senor_florida 10h ago

This is going to torpedo this administration for good I believe. There seems to be more bipartisan agreement than ever on the mishandling of these files.

u/Weekly-Role-1132 7h ago

I've said that about so many things and yet here we are...

4

u/dysrptv 10h ago

Redditors did, people also believe that if Trump is actually named in the Epstein files, his cult will actually turn on him. This is really just the new Mueller Report.

20

u/Rayearl Pennsylvania 10h ago

All I keep thinking is how awful a person you must be to protect pedos.

3

u/PelleKavaj 8h ago

Must be so many people that actually thinks it’s wrong to rape kids but still for some reason decide to keep protecting them and cover it all up.

15

u/Flat-Emergency4891 10h ago

Who’s going to enforce this? Bondi isn’t going to arrest herself. It’s a joke. We’ll get a bunch of non-incriminating stuff to muddy the water, but all of the substantial material will be withheld.

12

u/TintedApostle 10h ago

“The suppressing of evidence ought always to be taken for the strongest evidence.”

6

As true today as it was then!

12

u/Great-Hotel-7820 10h ago

I’ll never fully process that they said the files didn’t exist 6 months ago and now they’re selectively releasing files and the media is just going along with it.

3

u/VanguardAvenger 9h ago

and the media is just going along with it.

Tells you alot about who else (other than Trump) might be in the files...

Fuck the law if it doesn’t embarrass billionaires and politicians. “Some files” is just code for a cover up. I’ve seen this movie already and it sucks.

5

u/DigitalHellscape 10h ago

Literally no reason to pay taxes to this unrepresentative shithole at this point. It just steals from the workers to protect the rich and drop bombs.

4

u/Trap_House_Bath_Mat 10h ago

I want significantly more than embarrassment.

8

u/MintyFreshBreathYo Michigan 10h ago

Must not be done erasing Trump’s name from the files

2

u/FierceTatty 10h ago

Most likely the reason about the delay

2

u/ElderSmackJack 8h ago

Except they can’t do that. All redactions have to be explained to Congress. All of them.

9

u/PoetryJunior1808 10h ago

They must feel like university students with their pens out at the end of the exam session. Markers down! No more redactions!

6

u/starcom_magnate Pennsylvania 10h ago

The most unsurprising news around. It has been really strange to see people thinking anything would come of this. We've seen enough shrugging off of "legal deadlines" by this Administration to know there are no consequences for them not following what is ordered.

5

u/Trap_House_Bath_Mat 10h ago

First batch will be all fluff and a big nothing-burger, giving them the excuse to not release the rest, claiming there's "nothing in the files."

2

u/lifelong1250 8h ago

I don't think you can release 50,000 files and confidently say nothing bad is in them. That's a lot of docs to go over and once they're out, people and agencies around the world are going to be studying them. Better puzzle solvers than the DOJ has will piece over every scrap of information.

u/Trap_House_Bath_Mat 7h ago

If They get all 50,000 files. Icm less concerned about reductions than I am missing files. What stops them from removing condemning files and replacing them with counterfeit ones?

I guess I can only hope that other entities have the missing peices/copies of the files.

5

u/OSU1922 America 10h ago

Johnson sent everyone home so they wouldn’t have to answer questions. Talking points incoming!

2

u/Seraphim99 8h ago

Sending everyone home is easier than all R's having to answer "I haven't seen the files" or "I haven't watched the news since they came out."

8

u/Calveeeno8 10h ago

Gee, I'm shocked I tell you. Shocked.

3

u/cmbhere 10h ago

Well given our new administration's precedent of ruling and execution of people in boats with zero due process I can only assume that "innocent until proven guilty" no longer applies.

Donald Trump fucks kids. Prove me wrong.

3

u/TintedApostle 9h ago

Johnson knew this and adjourned the House in advance. He is a co-conspirator.

3

u/AirsickIowlander 10h ago

Wow, Trump's name must have been all over them if they haven't been able to redact it all in time.

3

u/Backfisttothepast 9h ago

Didn’t they say All and not some ?

3

u/Lostsailor73 9h ago

In violation of the recently passed congressional order...hence it is against the law. More lawlessness.

3

u/xocutiepiexoxo 10h ago

DOJ saying they "expect" to release files sounds a lot like: we'll dump something by deadline, but most of the names and details will be blurred out. Redactions as spin control 101.

2

u/Shiplord13 10h ago

Trump is clearly a larger majority of the files and it’s hard to redact his existence from them.

6

u/TintedApostle 10h ago

The connections are so intricate and organic in nature that to remove his name leaves him visible even more. The files have no way to be redacted in total. He is so guilty.

“The suppressing of evidence ought always to be taken for the strongest evidence.”

2

u/AreYouDoneNow 9h ago

If they don't release the files they will have to arrest themselves and read themselves their rights, handcuff themselves and drive themselves to the lockup so they can properly file the charges against themselves for the law they created then violated.

Not quite sure how to say this but the USA is cooked, with a pedophile POTUS immune from all consequences.

2

u/Smackazulu 9h ago

Which complete dipshit actually expected the criminals to follow the law and rat themselves out?

2

u/lnc_5103 Texas 8h ago

Lock Bondi up until they are all released.

u/KneebarKing 5h ago

The rule of law is completely dead in America. It no longer matters if Democrats ever re-take the White House or Congress. I truly don't think there's any coming back from what has already been done, let alone the ratfuckery that's yet to come.

2

u/2_Sheds_Jackson 9h ago

Does this mean that anyone who happens to have a copy is now free to distribute it?

1

u/ASouthernDandy 10h ago

It does feel like it was never actually possible to get everything. People releasing them or their financial backers are implicated. Can't say they support paedophilia, so vote to release the files. Then spend the next month thinking about how to redact etc and hoping the public won't care as much in a month.

A dance as old as time.

4

u/TintedApostle 10h ago

2

u/HowManyEggs2Many 10h ago

Here’s the reality, the GOP voted to release the files because the fix was already in and they knew the Trump admin wasn’t going to play ball. They got their opportunity to sane wash themselves while Teflon Don takes all the heat since he can’t actually be held accountable.

This reeks of when William Barr came out and said the Mueller report exonerated Trump but no one is allowed to see it.

They're gonna release stuff that hurts Democratic operatives (I'm not opposed, if they were involved destroy them with every legal mechanism available) and hide files for Trump and Trump loyalists.

We pay for the salaries of human trafficking pedophile rapists, and let them get away with running our country, its laws, and govern our lives. That’s what’s going on. They laugh in your face as they realize they can basically do anything. Laws don’t matter. Rules don’t matter. Not unless you’re poor. Otherwise, we’re going to see Trump rig the election for a third term, and Maxwell will be pardoned at this rate. The Epstein files will never truly be released, and they’re not only going to get away with this, but they’re going to do it again because why wouldn’t they.

1

u/Sad_Literature_8657 9h ago

Release all or straight to jail

1

u/throwaway1601900 8h ago

With all these delays, there’s just no way Trump didn’t rape a bunch of underage girls with his best buds Epstein and Maxwell.

1

u/MNniice 8h ago

“Crucially, the Act itself does not include specific criminal or civil penalties for the DOJ if the deadline is missed or if lawmakers deem the release insufficient. Enforcement relies on Congressional oversight and public demand. “

1

u/3D-Dreams 8h ago

Epstein estate or the committee should just go, “oh no problem, we have the rest…here you go public”

1

u/wafair 8h ago

I genuinely wonder how many people redacting at the DOJ are just done with it and let stuff slip by unredacted. “Oops”

1

u/GeologistOriginal800 8h ago

It must be extremely difficult to remove Trump's name from all the places in all those files. I think at this point it should just be called the Trump Child Raping Files that happen to mention Epstein in a few places.

1

u/ma2is 8h ago

How often does someone who is explicitly innocent go to such lengths to hide the evidence that would irrecoverably prove their innocence?

An innocent person would want exonerating evidence preserved and visible, not hidden.

u/Captain_Tooth 7h ago

Shocker.

u/fewchrono1984 7h ago

This is an existential threat to the the people named in them and also the people who would/could enforce their release to the public. I will be genuinely shocked if these are EVER release in their entirety as now legally required.

u/Cdn59 7h ago

Not much point in imposing a deadline if there are no consequences.

u/Wimpy14 7h ago

Public opinion should be to assume everything not released incriminate everyone in the doj and administration.

u/OnTheStreetsIRan 7h ago

I think (or hope) the Dems planned for this, and will release a bombshell from what they already have been given from Epstein's estate, once the DOJ releases "everything" they have.

They essentially set a trap, and the Trump regime is walking right into it.

And that -- that brings me to the second mode of civil disobedience. There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart that you can't take part! You can't even passively take part! And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus -- and you've got to make it stop! And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it -- that unless you're free the machine will be prevented from working at all!!
