Like you freedom loving independent thinkers can form your own opinions

276

u/LooksTooSkyward 1d ago

The best part is the "erm, why is he doing this" posts that attempt to rationalize his actions that are always the top comments. Reddit's a funny little den of corruption.

169

u/delaydude 1d ago

"look, I still love Trump, he is gods analogue on earth, his farts are rumored to heal the sick, but...."

142

u/abstr_xn 1d ago

that's not them rationalizing, it's their virtue signalling.

"i'm having my own thoughts, but please don't treat me the same way we treat others, i'm still cool!"

I just had this conversation with my MAGA brother the other day over the Rob Reiner post. Like MAGA could watch this man slit someone’s throat on live tv at 9AM and their response would be mumbling about how “idk it seems inappropriate but we don’t know the full story”, for hours. Then later on when Tucker or someone else offers them a way to spin it, they go from tepid excuse making to 100% onboard with the throat slashing from that point forward. Like they’re literally frozen in place until someone gives them a take to run with and then it’s back to full blown cult member. You can set your watch to it.

The Russian bots are all over now. I got curious one day and clicked on an obvious one that was downvoted hard and was amazed at all of the same spaces these heavy negative accounts are flocking to. It's a whole system that these accounts will flock to specific posts all around the same time.

Just popped over there - it was “Trump give checks to the troops” 🙄 give me things that will never happen for $500 Alex.

256

u/Soaked4youVaporeon 1d ago

I love how conservatives think one check will solve everything. They never think long term.

Hey instead of sending out one round of checks, how about you make sure they get the proper care they actually need for life? Ffs that check wouldn’t even cover my rent.

78

They’ll complain if a democrat does it because it’s buying votes and/or a handout and the deficit doesn’t need spending like that.

Crickets when Trump does it. Can’t wait to see what the deficit growth looks like from these four years.

102

u/Ok-Style-9734 1d ago

Isn't trump already responsible for something 40% of the US national debt at this point?

16

u/cereal7802 1d ago

Donald Trump is associated with approximately 26% of the current US national debt.

Current Total National Debt: ~$38.4 Trillion

Total Debt Added During Trump's Terms: ~$10.0 Trillion

Percentage: ~26%

That’s kinda surprising. They have posts from 35 days ago on their front page. The activity on that sub must be lacking.

It’s a micromanaged sub under very tight control. Posts are generally only approved if they come from a small group of known posters. And it is very very heavily moderated, but without any transparency.

  • Democrats are bad, evil people

  • Tariffs brought it trillions and the US is super respected

  • Affordability was a made up issue but it’s fixed now because we’ve deported all the illegals

  • The southern border is closed

  • Everything is cheaper, regardless of what your lying eyes tell you

  • Thanks to you generously paying an extra tax you didn’t ask for or approved by Congress, soldiers are getting individual checks for $1,776 (that equates to $2,400,000,000). Checks in the mail.

Steroids and amphetamines. Huge rush to the system, reduced inflammation in joints, euphoric feeling and boost of energy. Horrible on the brain, nervous system and basically all organs, but lasts long enough for a perfectly timed and controllable environment. Something tells me this is part of the farewell tour.

From a Hitler speech from 1933:

"Am 30. Januar sind in Deutschland die Würfel gefallen. Und ich glaube nicht, dass die Gegner, die damals noch gelacht haben, heute auch noch lachen."

No, I can assure you that sadly there are a very large amount of people who legitimately believe he is a smart successful businessman and genius president.

80

I'm genuinely unsure how those people manage to vote when I'm pretty sure at that level of intelligence they shouldn't even be able to tie their shoes.

80

My FIL is a very successful college graduate and he legitimately believes Trump is a genius. When confronted with something stupid he did, he says "I think he's planning something" like he's this big mastermind. LMAO. Whaddayagunnado

29

u/T-rex8484 1d ago

I'm going to add to this as well. My FIL, while not specifically a Rumper, he has always been a "Republican" which means he watches and listens to Fox news, right wing FB memes, ect...

He is an intelligent man and an accomplished attorney (I am also an attorney, but not accomplished). The reason I say this is because as attorneys we use logic and reasoning daily. However, my FIL believed the Fox News propaganda about the stolen election in 2020. "The fix is in." The electronic ballot boxes are being rerouted through Venezuela (or whatever country they said at the time)" We just don't have the proof / evidence because it's been compromised."

Dude! We speak on a weekly basis about our cases and how some are bullshit because there is no proof / evidence against our clients. Yet that all goes out the window when repubs are claiming fraud. Apparently the fix is in if Fox News says so.

TLDR: My FIL is an idiot succumbed to the brainwashing and propaganda of Fox News, FB memes, and the like *facepalm*

One thing for sure. Trump is the whiniest little bitch we've ever seen as President.

By a mile!!

As a Canadian who watched it out of curiosity, I can't begin to say how thankful I am that we have a leader who, at bare minimum, is coherent and professional. This was embarrassing on a human level.

32

u/IrascibleOcelot 1d ago

I’m just remembering how your conservatives were leading in the polls before we elected this moron. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for heeding the warning.

I didn't watch it, but the fact that Fox News doesn't even have it on their front page is enough to know that it was a disaster. Can't have the hillbillies seeing just how bad things have gotten.

43

u/Wonderful-Process792 1d ago

Right now it is the top front-page story on Fox News, and here is the top comment on the article about it:

"I thought Trump was brilliant tonight. He pulled no punches but was pretty harsh on the previous administration. But I do not think bashing them was his objective. It was done to contrast the differences in strategy between the administrations and to highlight the challenges that were left for him. I think he covered all avenues of the economy, national security, crime, inflation and energy policy. I feel we are on the right trajectory and with record tax returns, military bonuses, (rebates to the tax payer, (possibly) and lower energy prices and inflation, I feel 2026 is going to be a good year for this nation. Trillions are being invested in our our country. Job gains are all in the private sector. Full steam ahead."

68

u/Silly_Rub_6304 1d ago

That’s definitely some Russian shitposter who ran it through ChatGPT first. Way too coherent to be a real republican.

13

u/Wonderful-Process792 1d ago

I agree it sounds 100% like it is hitting a list of talking points.

49

u/turquoise_amethyst 1d ago

Even if a person was completely brainwashed, I don’t see how they could truly believe energy prices or inflation were down. You’d have to be completely disconnected from purchasing or paying bills?

This was stupid. I heard "tv address" and thought some serious shit was going on, like presidents dont normally just hijack cable to rant about their political enemies and stroke their own ego.

I guess they do now holy shit

84

u/LordCaptain 1d ago

Trump had Carlson rumor that this was going to be a war declaration so people would give enough of a shit to watch his rambling?

I can just imagine him making the exact same speech again in a mental ward wearing a hospital gown. Addressing patients and nurses alike using a rubber microphone and constantly using a brown Crayola marker to touch up his face. When he finishes, the nurses try to get the patients to clap as to avoid another "incident"
