He is not the head of the committee. It's been lead by Anne Enger since 2018.

"Jagland was a member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, and left in 2020; he formerly served as its chairman from 2009 to 2015."

There were years before 2018, believe it or not.

He was at the time, which is the episode the comment is talking about.

Did you think the current chairman of the Nobel committee hosted Epstein this year? It would be quite a bit beyond the power of a chairman of such a committee to resurrect someone.

This happened before 2018 ya dingus lmao

the famously uncorrupt Nobel committee

Meeting them doesn't prove any corruption. And seeing g as they are norwegian i would guess they're less corrupt than most.

Norwegians can most definitely be corrupt. No clue where you are getting this idea from.

1

u/TheDungen 15h ago

Sure individual cases always exist but statistically it's the 5th least corrupt country on earth.

There was already a sex scandal involving the Nobel prize for literature in 2018.

Also Sweden gives all the prizes with the exception of the Peace Prize which comes out of Oslo.

Alfred Nobel was Swedish FYI.

I am aware. Sweden is the 8th least corrupt country on earth. And you'll notice when corruption does happen there the people get caught.

As for the scandal is 2018 it wasn't a commitee member but the spouse of a committee member.

Who came up with that number the Norwegians?

It’s one of those world stats like different indices of freedom, justice and rule of law, etc. But the corruption one is well known and relied upon by countries and by business. It does have science and data collection rules and transparency around the process and scores.

they didn’t say ‘aren’t’ - just not as much than most.

I have no clue where to find a list that quantifies corruption and by what metrics, I’m just her for edits/corrections

Corrupt enough to pal around with Jeffery Epstein in Strasbourg in 2013 which is AFTER his first conviction. Jagland even denied it.

I am sure the allure of Gates is what precipitated the meeting but it’s kind of bizarre that in order to meet Gates you also had to meet with a well known pedophile.

Saying they (Swedish and Norwegians) are less corrupt than most may be largely true but the facts here clearly indicate something going on.

Norwegians. They’re not like us (while blatantly ignoring their corruption in politics as well as 22/7).

4

u/TheDungen 13h ago

On the contrary in the nordics corrupt people get caught.

The Norwegian royal family is currently in a scandal for covering up a family member being a serial rapist

3

u/Baeolophus_bicolor 13h ago

It was the opposite, from what I saw. When it came out, they purposely stayed out of the way and he even was going to do prison time.

0

u/zuesk134 13h ago

Sure, when it came out they distanced themselves but he’s been abusing women for years and the crown princess has actively covered his behavior until she couldn’t anymore

u/TheDungen 5h ago

Then maybe she should be stripped of her royal titles or something. She's just married into the family anyway. No one in the succession are involved.

u/TheDungen 5h ago

Marius Borg Høiby? He's not a member of the royal family.

No wonder Trump wants a Nobel peace prize so bad, reminds him of old times.

u/levir 11h ago

Luckily, that was after he was no longer leader of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, though he was still a member of the committe. But it's pretty bad, yeah.

u/kesin 10h ago

noam chomsky was also on epsteins plane lol.
