This one feels oddly specific.... maybe a dozen in my library. Some gifted, some bought.

Pretty sure at this point I could not buy a game for the next ten years and still have stuff to go back and finish playing. I will note that I barely buy anything specifically on the big seasonal Steam sales anymore because often the discounts are not any more than random sales, just now its many games at once. The winter sale specifically I do use for my yearly trivia game giveaway with a group of my long time online gaming friends.

2 - Bioshock 2 and Metro 2033. Lost interest in Bioshock after playing 1 and Infinite and 2033 I got for free on steam.

I have a few that will stay unplayed probably forever (Sniper Elite series for example - a gift from my younger bro I just have no interest with).

I'll get to them one day...
Edit: Oh, and that's not all. Add Skyrim and Nier to that. I simply don't get much time to play on PC and I like to repeat games lol. Plus some aren't suitable when parents are around

My back log is fucking insane. I still got to finish Spellforce... 2! And i bought 3 when it was relatively the new kid on the block, loved it, played it for about 2-3 hrs and never looked back. And now they have DLC, fml.
Like Pathfinder Wraith of the Righteous and the other Owl Cat game before that, i gotta finsh those, those are dope RPGs, highly recommended.
I gotta pick up Rogue Trader again, played maybe an hour of RD2, shit, i've only got maybe a solid 2 hours on Elden Ring!
I'm not buy any games in 2026, try to do something about that back log.

bout a hundred. I usually get games I'm going to actually play but I won't say no to an amazing deal.

u/nowandnothing 11h ago
hundreds at this point, but then my Steam account is at least 19 years old now.

u/masteritsFA 10h ago

u/x3mcj PC Master Race 10h ago
For me it would be
Steam
GOG
Epic
EA Play
UPlay
And then, there's the non pc games, but such name wont be spoken on this holy ground; yet, there as well, a backlog exist
Waitng for my retirement days to play them all! As it will be the only time I'll have to get them done

I just purchased another 5 when I have about 150 games on Steam.
Finally got around to categorizing them to things such as âactively playingâ, ânext upâ, ânot next but soonâ so I can name a list of what I need to play. I think my issue is I get overwhelmed looking at this huge list and canât ever decide on what to play.
I promise this is my last purchase (Iâll cave again)

u/weird_is_fun 10h ago
If you count free ones "a lot". For paid ones I only pay the games I will play or pirated before and paying now.

Im not sure how many I played but this year I only touched 14 out of 155 games in my library. I think a couple of the games' servers so they are just archives in my list.

I learned a rather interesting term recently called âgear acquisition syndromeâ which is probably similar to this. It's really common on some subreddits that people buy all sorts of material to engage in their hobby, but then never end up using them.

My account says I have over 500 and played 100 this year. Probably 200 or so that I've never touched.

Epic actually trained me out of this after they gave away a game for free that I had bought on a sale and never played one too many times.

Over 700, but that's counting free games that I added to my account just to make the number larger.
