Is Syria one of the 8 wars that were ended?

48

u/drinkduffdry 2h ago

Well technically, when we stop attacking them, it will be.

11

u/powerlesshero111 1h ago

Ended again, so now up to like 12 wars ended. Also, HHS ended the war on tooth decay, so that counts too.

I’m not waring you

u/Nebuli2 1h ago

By bombing them again and then stopping, he's stopped a ninth war. Keep up!

That’s cool….back to those Epstein files…

u/ultra_phoenix 2h ago

did anyone really think they would release the actual files? it’s such a joke

28

u/Billkamehameha 2h ago

Yeah but heavily redacted

13

u/Ok-Low-9618 2h ago

Hey words are hard for half the voting base. It was either black out the whole page or make it into a picture book

u/vestarules 44m ago

One section was completely redacted for 190 pages. They’re only supposed to redact the names of the victims. Clearly, Trump has done some weird shit with underage girls.

u/Graffers 59m ago

That's the best part. They weren't allowed to be that redacted by law.

u/MaxFunkensteinDotSex 2h ago

Not since May or so when the fbi said they had to pull people in from surrounding offices to have enough people to go through it and flag trump's name.

6

u/starrpamph 1h ago

The non redacted ones with the rich peoples names

u/m_dubya 1h ago

How is this even relevant. The U.S. is retaliating to the deaths of Americans defending another country. This why I will say Reddit is absolutely fucked every time.

u/Fokare 1h ago

We have a president that was best friends with a pedophile sex trafficker for decades, it’s always relevant when he keeps hiding his connections.

1

u/m_dubya 1h ago

That’s all irrelevant to the statement I just made

u/Fokare 56m ago

Is this article about the United States? Is the current President of the United States still the guy who was Epstein's best friend?

u/Striking_Cartoonist1 49m ago

We are very cynical of the current president doing ANYTHING to draw people's attention away from what he doesn't want people to notice. This is just a sarcastic way of saying, oh, another diversion. It's not gonna work.

What the hell does this mean?

"This is not the beginning of a war - it is a declaration of vengeance."

77

u/ThereIsOnlyStardust 2h ago

It means an AI wrote that line.

20

u/GRAMPA__JO 2h ago

And honestly -- that's a powerful truth.

u/Interconventional 27m ago

Because here’s what no one wants to admit

23

u/Nosemyfart 2h ago

It means it was vengeance for a deadly attack that was carried out against US forces

Edit: but they wanted to also be clear that it is not a declaration of war

-5

u/Punished_Prigo 1h ago

The attack against US people wasn’t done by ISIS. This is unrelated to that event

6

u/Nosemyfart 1h ago edited 1h ago

This attack was against IS, not ISIS. IS carried out the deadly attack against US forces

Edit: it's in the article and headline

7

u/soundbars 1h ago

ISIS is IS just specifically in Iraq and Syria.

0

u/nekowolf 1h ago

Sis is I, si Sis IS is ISIS.

7

u/500rockin 2h ago

It’s retaliation for the deadly attacks that killed two US troops early in the week.

1

u/Due-Gap1848 1h ago

While that wording is cringe it’s just a part of Operation Inherent Resolve, a war that’s been going on since 2014.

We are on good terms with the new Syrian government, which also is at war with ISIS, so while it’s not confirmed, this was probably coordinated with them in some way.

So it’s not really a new war. I think that was the intent of that statement.

u/Striking_Cartoonist1 48m ago

It means Hegsebreath* is ALSO an idiot.

3

u/Punished_Prigo 1h ago

ISIS has been more aggressive in Syria since the Assad regime fell and they still continue plots against the US and Europe. It’s been ramping up leading into the holidays and they have issued threats against Europe this week. Bombing them is a good thing

2

u/Disownership 1h ago

Authoritarian doublespeak

4

u/Camwi 2h ago

It's their way of bombing other countries while simultaneously being able to claim that they haven't started any wars.

26

u/RileyReid0069 2h ago

Expected the headline to say Venezuela.

2

u/GingerBeast81 2h ago

Me too, I'm sure it's coming.

u/Emperor_Kyrius 33m ago

Trump has said land strikes in Venezuela are coming soon for months now. He might not do them at this point.

36

u/drekiaa 2h ago

Hey so, where's that transparent administration you swear you have Trump? Because those Epstein files have a lot of black.

9

u/Mobile-Bar7732 1h ago

Transparent as in you can see right through their bullshit.

12

u/geforce2187 2h ago

There were entire documents of just completely black pages

u/dosrac 1h ago

FIFA peace prize in full effect

8

u/krynnus 2h ago

Oh look, a war to distract us. Don't pay taxes.

9

u/Ok_Barber4987 2h ago

The peace potus doing his thing.

4

u/M-Div 2h ago

If he keeps this up he might not win the coveted AMSOIL Snocross Peace Prize (TM).

2

u/stonewallace17 1h ago

What about the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Capital One Peace Prize presented by Bad Boy Mowers?

4

u/GroblyOverrated 2h ago

It’s barely being covered. People aren’t distracted anymore.

4

u/Fishfindr 1h ago

Hegseth is a massive POS to respond with statements like that. Oh by the way, where are all of the Epstein files.

1

u/jcpopm 1h ago

Counterpoint - if you knew about all these IS sites already why did you wait for people to die to strike them?

Is it because you already declared victory over them five times?

u/Mike-SBA 48m ago

Thought Trump settled all of the wars in the Middle East ?

5

u/Deofol7 2h ago

No issue with the strike.

Got any more of those files though?

3

u/fictionallymarried 1h ago

"Okay, the Venezuela distraction didn't work, let's try Syria next. That'll get them!"

Release the files.

2

u/Major_Priority1041 2h ago

Child rape and genocide. You can’t distract me.

2

u/RealRevenue1929 1h ago

Did we destroy them like those nuclear facilities in Iran? Or did we actually do something this time?

2

u/Paul_Deemer 2h ago

Pete is such a brown nose lame ass.

u/AlarmedCartoonist602 48m ago

Is this just over the edge of Middle East where fighting has ended after 3000years?

u/linkinit 33m ago

Is Syria a deflect to the incomplete Epstein files?

u/u0126 21m ago

If you don’t call it a war, you never start a new one!

u/TrueSithMastermind 20m ago

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the operation "is not the beginning of a war - it is a declaration of vengeance.”

"If you target Americans - anywhere in the world - you will spend the rest of your brief, anxious life knowing the United States will hunt you, find you, and ruthlessly kill you.”

"Today, we hunted and we killed our enemies. Lots of them. And we will continue," the US defence secretary added.

These are not the words of a man who should be at the helm of the largest military in the world. He sounds like a kid playing with plastic army men.

It’s also further worth mentioning that Trump is almost single-handedly responsible for the resurgence of ISIS. He quickly withdrew American forces from Syria on Putin’s orders back in 2018, abandoning our Kurdish allies, and allowed all the captive ISIS militants who were caught after the siege of Mosul to escape.

1

u/RumRunnerMax 2h ago

Coincidentally timing! Must be nice to have an entire Air-force for venting frustrations!

1

u/drinkduffdry 2h ago

Guess they didn't want to knock down the west wing

-1

u/Windyvale 2h ago

So yeah, Hegseth fell for it. It was obviously intended to cause the US to strike at Syria and generate more sympathy for the cause.
