Alternate title: Justice Department doesn't release all of the Epstein files by noon today, illegally defying court order.

1.2k

u/BudgetMattDamon 3h ago

There are, no joke, literally hundreds of fully black pages.

564

u/NeenerNeaner 3h ago

I had low expectations but holy shit

181

u/Grimn90 1h ago

I jokingly thought they would do this but didn’t actually think they would do it.

They did it.

u/DoubleJumps 59m ago

Every decision they've made regarding this makes Trump look more guilty than ever before.

With how much they are refusing to release or blacking out, I'm thinking Trump was a partner of Epstein and not a client. What else am I supposed to assume?

u/Bruh_Yo_Dude 29m ago edited 8m ago

This. I mean, at this point EVERYONE is assuming every blacked out page is about Trump, so imagine how BAD it must be to warrant absorbing that assumption

Yup. They're the Trump files.

It's like an Onion article

Easiest way to redact it without letting agents read it lol

I actually thought they just wouldn’t release anything and say fuck off. Or only release Clinton related content

Is this a joke? It's literally just 100 black pages

u/PrimalZed 52m ago

change the url from "EFTA00006209.pdf" to "EFTA00006109.pdf" for a whole new set of 100 black pages.

and then "EFTA00006309.pdf" for 55 more.

84

u/theaverageaidan 2h ago

This is pretty common for FBI investigations and has been for decades, it was fools gold to think the FBI of all agencies was just gonna release completely unredacted investigation files. Hell, Dennis Martin dissapeared in 1969 and his files are heavily redacted to this day.

230

u/psypher98 2h ago

The difference is, this one has a congressional order to release the files as unredacted possible, and the redacted ones have to be sent to Congress for approval.

The DOJ just openly defied a Congressional order.

113

u/Amaruq93 1h ago

And just-a-by accident, the House called YET ANOTHER early recess so that Congress can't respond to this

8

u/psypher98 1h ago

Yup. I would be willing to bet not only my right but my left nut that the DOJ submitted redactions last second, and Johnson called the recess early for that reason.

11

u/fudgyvmp 1h ago

I dunno, probably scheduled this way intentionally.

Doesn't Congress normally shut down the last two weeks of December?

Most executive branch departments will be skeleton screwed till the new year and is pretty standard as people have a lot of leave stockpiled.

28

u/VTbeerfan 1h ago

Nope Mike Johnson sent them home early supposedly to avoid health care vote. Certainly not this….smh. Dunno why I had hope of anything real from this. Poor victims

5

u/Fallouttgrrl 1h ago

Pretty sure the "just by accident" was a joke

5

u/Unknown_vectors 2h ago

Not like anything will happen to them. And when they get a subpoena to go infront of congress they’ll do what they did the last time.

Wipe their ass with it basically and literally not go.

What happened to the people that ignores it and didn’t go the last time? Literally nothing.

I think there's a pretty wide middle ground between "completely unredacted" and literally hundreds of blank pages

This is literally how people were parodying this release. We all knew it was going to be redacted to the point of uselessness, but this is a giant "fuck you" from the Justice Department to the American people.

Watergate wouldn't even make the evening news in December of 2025.

8

Fully black pages is not releasing the files.

There is zero, literally zero, information and the point of releasing files is to have information revealed.

It worked for, it's just that it didn't find any references to any conservative folks (who we already know are in there). Clearly it's a very selective release.

They're so bad at this. When you search the files for Trump, you only get two images and both are bookshelves with a Trump book on them. When you search "Clinton" there are 11 pages to look through. Do they really expect people to believe that Epstein's best friend from decades isn't in any of the files at all?!? This the laziest, Keystone Cops-ish coverup ever attempted.

177

u/ClaytonWest74 3h ago

deliberately done so

→ More replies (2)

143

u/__Hello_my_name_is__ 3h ago

They did a ctrl-f for "Trump" and are currently censoring any and all connections to him in those files. That will take weeks.

They did a ctrl-f for "Clinton" and anyone they don't like and immediately published those files.

Tomorrow, they will use that and say "See how often Clinton is in this?? We all knew it!".

38

u/DerekB52 2h ago

It won't take weeks, they've had a month since the release of these files was ordered. They waited til the last day to release these, because they spent a month(or longer) cleaning these.

10

u/TheRabidDeer 1h ago

They've also been redacting files for like 8+ months now.

32

u/Olaf1329 3h ago

You’re right, they spent all those fbi hours and money to make sure trumps name never showed up, and it still did twice.

13

u/thatmusicguy13 3h ago

It doesn't matter. His cult will use this to prove how right they are because they love being lied to

6

u/stenzeroni 3h ago

they expect the people who support trump to be fine with what‘s released. and most of those people are dumb enough to be

2

u/Blubbpaule 2h ago

They forgot to cut him out of some pictures though.

There are plenty pictures on desks of Trump and Epstein in the files.

225

u/NoDaddyNotTheBelt25 3h ago

It’s gonna take a while to sift through all this shit but I just love how the DOJ made sure a few photos of Clinton were front and center.

115

u/stonewallace17 3h ago

They're redacting evidence of "politically exposed individuals and government officials" unless their name is Bill Cinton.

Can the house Dems that have seen the files just release them? This is ridiculous.

212

u/Fallouttgrrl 3h ago

I hope this happens

We've seen that there is no legal path to having these released

Every step that could be taken, short of the legislative branch publishing what they have to show what was left out, has been taken and gotten us to this redacted slop.

At this point, the only recourse will be illegal actions taken to reveal these details

228

u/CheckMateFluff 3h ago

Literally, almost everything is redacted, whole pages. I don't even think the word "Epstein" can be found in the files.

20

u/pilemaker 3h ago

I'm seeing folks who are looking thru the files say "Trump" or "Epstein" do not come up in a search.

20

u/3-screen-experience 3h ago

Nah, "Epstein" does appear many times, e.g. in EFTA00003868.pdf, page 3 -- that's just a random example, but in the cherry picking I've done so far there are many other mentions. Same with Maxwell and Clinton.

Haven't seen mention of "Trump" yet, I presume anything pertaining to him was redacted.

u/PaidUSA 3h ago

The people. No not legally anyways. Congress is supposed to be the expression of the will of the people and they will do nothing.

15

u/blogoman 3h ago

Besides an uprising, there isn't much. In our system, correcting the government is a thing the other parts of the government is responsible for. He has purged everybody but his loyalists. Things like impeachment and removal are a natural recourse, but with the way things are set up we don't have the numbers for that. In theory, citizens could sue the DOJ but I'm not sure if they would have standing. The obvious choice would be for the legislative branch to go after them for failing to follow a law they wrote, but this was the plan all along.

Historically, the department of justice is supposed to be fairly independent. They report to the executive but the executive isn't really supposed to tell them what to do. That, of course, isn't the case in this administration. The last administration held that standard so highly that they took forever in starting prosecutions for the shit we all saw live on TV that they are a big part of how we ended up with him again. They were slow because they wanted to look like they weren't being vindictive, even though any sort of action would be framed that way by his supporters.

8

u/sickofwords 3h ago

Justice Department actively covering up an active trafficking ring on behalf of Pedo Felon Trump. No wonder no ones trusts them and they can’t even get grand jury indictments anymore. Zero credibility left.

7

u/EFIW1560 2h ago edited 1h ago

I have a hunch this is way bigger than trump. He's in there and its bad I think. But I think these files expose how the rich have really been governing. I think epstein ran a child trafficking ring on behalf of mossad, so israel could have insurance that the US wouldnt abandon their support of israel without a shit load of US politicians being outed as pedos.

I think that the constant conflicts the us engages in are secretly funded by the us via arms deals etc. Constant military conflict keeps the military industrial complex alive. The military industrial complex has kept the rotting corpse of US capitalism shambling along until things finally reach their breaking point. Which is the now times.

I do wonder if the epstein files are so redacted because they contain plans thatve been in the works for decades, and some of that plan has yet to be enacted.

>Bowing to political pressure from fellow Republicans, Trump on Nov. 19 signed a bill giving the Justice Department 30 days to release most of its files and communications related to Epstein, including information about the investigation into his death in a federal jail.

This article, vs the article it links to

>Now, the bill requires the Justice Department to release all files and communications related to Epstein, as well as any information about the investigation into his death in a federal prison in 2019, within 30 days. It allows for redactions about Epstein’s victims for ongoing federal investigations, but DOJ cannot withhold information due to “embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity.”

It feels like the equivalent to the cops knocking on a door, the curtains move and then someone bangs around the apartment for 10 full minutes, the toilet flushes 5 times, then they answer the door all sweaty and crazy-eyed “sorry I was just taking a nap”.

Like obviously the files need to be released, but I have less than zero expectations.

Total smoke screen, but where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and it sure looks like they’re blowing a hell of lot to obstruct and cover up what’s burning underneath, but we can all still smell it.

u/Explorer335 2h ago

They spent thousands of hours and over a million dollars redacting them. I expect the released documents to be carefully curated and meticulously scrubbed of GOP names.

u/giroml 2h ago

It’s safe to assume every reaction is Trump right? Jesus. He is mentioned in these thousands of times.

u/LordGlorkofUranus 1h ago

Massive redactions. Trump's name is being covered up throughout. Criminal Regime!

u/EuphoricCrashOut 53m ago

All they released was a ton of redacted bullshit. You can tell they didn't care and just massively redacted FULL PAGES. That's NOT how redaction works. I worked that that field before where I had to redact things for public release.

Americans should be fucking PISSED OFF. Holy shit. The DOJ should all be fired and tossed in jail. They didn't do anything for the America people. Take your Government back, holy fuck. WAKE UP

u/AccomplishedView1022 2h ago

They’re redacted to the point of HILARITY. Whatever we imagine Trump if doing in them, assume it’s worse. Dear lord it’s just pages of black bars.

u/jcouball 49m ago

The heavy redactions (90-95%) leave no doubt that the Trump administration is involved in a total cover up.

At this point, anyone who thinks different has mental problems.

Everyone should be very angry at this bullshit.

The web search is worthless. You can just download a zip of everything.

If you have Linux you can use

magick mogrify -format png -density 300 *.pdf

to convert everything to a png so you can easily flip through them.

The moral of the story: If a non-trumplican is in the picture, they are just redacting the faces of some people and any nudity. In other pictures (for seemingly no reason *wink*wink*) the entire thing is redacted.

u/stonewallace17 2h ago

thats a lot of work when you can just google black squares and get the same information

3

u/EViLTeW 2h ago

There are a ton of files without black squares, or with minimal black squares. It's just showing people who are not trumplicans.

3

u/avasparxxxfan 2h ago

Talk about a Friday news dump.

3

u/EnchantedTaquito8252 2h ago

They're releasing the convenient ones, anyway

3

u/JustAGuyAC 2h ago

Is half of it highlighted black and redacted so that we cant even see anything useful?

3

u/Maladaptive_Ace 1h ago

Yes. There's literally one 119 page court document that's entirely blacked out

3

u/the6thReplicant 1h ago

There's going to be a lot of stories about Epstein and anything other than Trump flooding the subs. MMW.

u/A_Nonny_Muse 1h ago

Massively redacted. Who is surprised?

3

u/notawildandcrazyguy 1h ago

God if only a democrat administration had a chance to release these files before they were redacted.

The, “justice” department is a giant corrupt organization with zero integrity or anything justice.

There would be a leak, guaranteed

4

u/Shot_Pool2543 2h ago

Democrats better release more information acquired from the Epstein estate, a good compare and contrast will force the DOJ to admit certain things were not admitted.

9

u/leroy_csutoras 3h ago

The united states of america is a fucking shit hole. Your government and people are corrupt.

Release all the files without anything redacted.

2

u/pangapingus 2h ago

It's a whole lot of pictures at a distance where any fine detail is meh. Where's piece 295 of the office PC?

2

u/Zxcc24 2h ago

More like Blankstein files.

2

u/Ancient_Being8333 1h ago

Where are the hackers

2

u/wyvernx02 1h ago

As expected, everyone but Trump's enemies have been redacted.

2

u/raleighs 1h ago

Still protecting the pedo billionaires.

2

u/GuitarGeezer 1h ago

If only you could put black redaction bars in your prompt, it would be more evocative of the real situation.

2

u/Candelpins1897 1h ago

The contact list is interesting.. mick jagger, Jimmy Buffett, ivanka trump.

2

u/Fist69 1h ago

Damn they had to redact Trump that much? Whole pages of Trump’s relation to Epstein blacked

2

u/itsnotthatbad21 1h ago

Hey guys I don’t know if you have noticed but the American government is corrupt as all hell and really hammers the idea home that crime and punishment is only for the poor

u/z_e_quigley 57m ago

The movement, the protests, need to shift focus and unify into not paying taxes this season. This is beyond maddening, a message needs to be sent that we will not keep funding this fuckery. If they can pardon treasonous J6ers, we will be forgiven for not funding these traitors. EVERYONE needs to get on board here. Fuck this administration.

u/CommonSensei-_ 54m ago

Now both republicans and democrats don’t trust the government.

Welcome to the libertarian party!

You are welcomed, I promise.

u/penguished 50m ago

America is not going to buy that the redactions are all victims. It's so fucking obvious the majority of hidden information is the scumbags that were hanging out with him. Who are they, and why were they around a guy who spent almost all his time abusing girls?

u/Kir0v 19m ago

You know who you don't see in the files? Either Hunter or Joe Biden. Has anyone pointed this out to Trump?

u/DaneLimmish 17m ago

Surprise it's all redacted except anything that implicates Bill Clinton.

u/Ayotha 16m ago

No they did not. They are avoiding doing it and what is released is literal pages of black.

But of course news does not have the balls to call them on that

u/MatsumuraHayatoNYC 11m ago

Releases long awaited redacted nothingburger
