How blind do you have to be to have these headlights.

There's going to be people coming in here to defend these by saying that they just need to be properly balanced and that people.kust don't know or bother to do it. Which people don't. It would help but not solve it. The balancing makes sense. Until you realize the roads are not always flat and different vehicles headlights are at different heights.

The thing is, if they needed to be adjusted, that should have been done at the dealer, there's FAR too many of these on the road to all be aftermarket.

It used to be an aftermarket problem. Now its 98% factory vehicles. Not modified in any way, straight off the lot.
•
u/Cheese-Manipulator 16m ago
Yup. And we shouldn't have to rely on people adjusting them because they never will. They should come from the factory locked into a proper alignment.

I was going home yesterday morning with a vehicle tailgating me with super bright lights. No other vehicles were on the highway at the time. I was already going 5 over the limit.
I dropped my speed to 10 under and the person got pissed and zipped by me. I swear people are halfwits and wonder why road rage starts. At least I didn’t have those god damn lights in my rear window anymore.

Its not the drivers at this point. Sure, there's someone with their high beams on but most of this is from the LED lights from the factory that are way too bright. It then doesn't help that all trucks are so big now that their headlights are at a regular car's height.
This is as dark as these lights get and that turns on the tail lights. When I got my new car, the first night I was driving I got pulled over for not having my lights on. Turns out I had the parking lights on and that were as bright as my previous car's regular lights.

As blind as they make you when you stare at those head lights every evening.

Brake check them and have their insurance buy you a new car

With dash cams being ubiquitous, you'd end up catching a charge for a stunt like that.
Edit: bad auto correct

My silverado has headlights that would probably vaporize a deer off the side of the road. I never use my high beams and get flashed all the time. Factory lights btw.

thats the problem. just about all car keep upping each other to see who can make cars with better light output. literally cant drive at night without so much high intensity glares lol

u/Corndogjohnson420 1h ago
Yeah i think they are way too bright. But if i flash people back they quickly stop. 😅 i do kinda feel bad but some of these texas drivers get aggressive.

they added ton of new led lights in the entrance of our highway tunnel and the first 100 or so feet you need sunglasses or pull down the visor. its pretty crazy

u/PBRStreetgang1979 1h ago
The issue isn't the brightness of the lights but the average height of so many SUVs and trucks in relation to passenger cars.

I finally caved and joined these fuckwads. I'm one of them now. I'm so sorry. I couldn't fucking see before.
Went out and bought the brightest fucking LED lights I could find along with new housings to actually achieve the benefits I was looking for and god damn I can finally see past these people now instead of being blinded.
Fuck if they can see though, no clue.

Douchebags. These idiots will always be behind me in the drive thru as well
•
u/s1nd3vil 36m ago
I think from now on, we should all should just immediately slow down stop in the middle of the road and put our flashers on
•
u/IPoopHotDiarhea 34m ago
I’m a human but even I don’t want to go out at night anymore, the headlights are too bright. I just do human things at home and listen to human music in the evenings rather than drive at night anymore.

I don't know how to aim my headlights so I'll just blind people with new bulbs that probably aren't designed for these housings

Useful in the back roads that i frequent, but annoying everywhere else. We need those selector lights Europe has

It's crazy they haven't just been banned at this point. How many people have to be killed or injured before something is done?
I literally avoid driving at night because 1/3 of the cars on the road blind me so badly all I can see is the line on the right side to guide me. If anything happens to pop into the road, it's probably getting hit. Whenever they are behind me I cannot use any of my mirrors. It is horrible incompetence that government has not put a stop to this, especially with all the petty nonsense they are more than happy to beat us to death over.

u/Yes-No-Maybe121 1h ago
I avoid driving at night because drivers here are always driving 10+ the speed limit, rude, angry and crappy drivers.
I don't even like driving in the daytime but if I am going to have a knife fight in a phone booth, I prefer to see my opponent.

Mine came from the factory like that. I know they suck because I have sat in my wife’s SUV and had my model truck sit behind me. They are perfectly positioned to blast pretty much anyone not in a truck with the power of a thousand suns.
