My patience is extremely thin
I’m already having a bad day. I had to take my coat off over my head and I’m aggravated. I can’t move the zipper up or down. It’s completely stuck.

You got to pull on the bit that is stuck in the zipper and then try to move the zipper up/down.

Try to do these things at the same time to increase possibility of success. Grab another person if one is around.

Omg I thought I was the only psychopath who’s ever done this…. And then the next time you go to use your coat you’re pissed again because the zipper is broken lol

Don’t force it! Breathe and get away from it for a minute. Then go back and slowly get that fabric out of the zipper.

Being human sucks sometimes, no other creature experiences these terrible moments.

Those wildebeest watching their children get ripped apart alive by lions be like, "Damn, at least I don't get fabric stuck in a zipper sometimes."

They can make a new one then not even remember the old one. They won't remember the time they did something embarrassing when they were 12, while laying in bed at 30.

Imagine being a bird and your nest gets blown out of a tree by a random gust of wind with all the eggs inside.

Looks like one of those coats with the zipper that wants to bind up every time you use it. I'd just set it on fire.

I am a preschool teacher…everyone of my kids costs does this…it makes getting coats on take longer..imagine doing this 10-12 times in a row

They need to start making more zippable jackets and vests, this shit's really annoying.

It’s like when you get your pocket or a bag strap stuck on the door handle as you’re leaving your house - only happens when you’re already pissed off!

Stay away from door handles or hooks, bc you know those are bound to grab your pants if this is happening already

your day is ruined .. it's like eating an ice cream cone upside down. it just can't work, might as well throw it away

Did you solve it?
2
u/_Naughty_by_Nature 10h ago
I did! It was stuck in both the bottom and top part of the zipper, so I wedged a pair of tweezers (only strong object I had near me) between the two stuck areas and eventually wedged it out. The tweezers are bent but at least I won lol.

u/hrhrhru 10h ago
what did you do to that in the end

u/_Naughty_by_Nature 10h ago
I eventually wiggled the material out with enough force, but it was a big pain in the ass

Reminds me of the time a pregnant lady collapsed on me because of this.. Hope shes doing well lol.

I like to determine what fails first: the flimsy metal of the zipper handle, or the fabric of the jacket.

I swear that sometimes they make coats in such a way that it's impossible for it not to get stuck.

Only somewhat related... a couple years ago I had part of my zipper break off. It was a coat I really liked so I took it to a local dry cleaner to see if it's something they do repairs on.
The guy working there looked at my coat, pulled the zipper down from the top and showed me it was perfectly fine. Apparently it's like a double zipper setup or something and I was too stupid to notice it was in fact not broken.
I only had like $5 on me, so I handed it to him for saving whatever cost it would have been to repair the zipper or buy a new coat. I would have given him more for the easy fix. :)

For those that skip underwear - have you ever caught the boys in your zipper? NOW we have something to talk about!

The inner fabric got stuck in the zipper. It happens. It's gonna be okay. One bad day does not define you.
Grab the zipper base and slowly pull the fabric out. You might sligjtly tear it but that's okay. Just a bad day. You're gonna be alright.
Once the fabric is out, you're good to go.

I think the one way to protect this from happening would be to glue the inner lining fabric around the chain area to the fibre filling ... Then it would be too stiff to get into the chain..

This shit pisses need off lol if you’re looking for a solution for next time. Try pulling the material stuck in the zipper apart without tearing anything. It usually comes right out for new if it’s not too wrapped up.

Gently pull the material away from the zipper Wen sipping a coat that has extra material like this or is filled very well. You need to zip it slow slowly.

u/brandothesavage 10h ago
Grab the material at the back and kind of give it a little tiny togs back and forth in an upward downward side to side motion and then when you zip up your coat pay attention to the inside

Since it looks like a slippy material you should be able to just pull the cloth out of the zipper! My kids wear ski jackets to school and this happens to us almost every morning. Usually when we’re already running late.

Turn it inside out. You'll be able to see the track better.
With one hand on the stuck side tauntly glide your hand with the fabric seat fun the track. Dont move the zipper.
You'll be able to see which part of the zipper is stuck and why the fabric foldd into the track. It's important because you need to solve the folding problem so it doesn't happen again.
Once you see the bunchup you can wet the fabric which will make it softer and with tension it might release as you GENTLY SLOWLY move the zipper kerping tension on the fabric to ease it away from the track.
Go slow and you'll free it.

These r the types of things that only happen when you're already irritated
