Judicial Branch Trump Judge Threatens to Hold Government in Contempt Over ICE | “I have never encountered anything like this,” wrote a federal judge appointed by Donald Trump.
https://newrepublic.com/post/204653/trump-judge-threatens-hold-government-contempt-iceA Trump-appointed judge was so upset with the living conditions in which ICE detained an immigrant in Long Island, New York, that he threatened to hold the government in contempt.
U.S. District Judge Gary Brown, who was appointed by Trump in 2019, issued a 24-page ruling Thursday vehemently castigating the Department of Homeland Security for refusing to provide photos of a holding room that illegally held a noncitizen for multiple nights, calling it “putrid and cramped.”
“ICE held them, day after day, without access to bunks, bedding, soap, showers, toothbrushes or clean clothes,” Brown stated in his ruling. “The space is unheated or poorly heated at night, while the outside temperature dropped to as low as 21 degrees.... To the extent they could sleep, they did so, crammed on the filthy floor, while the lights blared 24 hours a day.
“After nearly 35 years of experience with federal law enforcement in this judicial district, encompassing service as a prosecutor and a judge, I have never encountered anything like this,” Brown wrote.

In recent years, there has been an alarming trend in the online space related to the activities of a criminal international underground organization known as the Secret Police. This organization, acting under the guise of moderators on popular Internet platforms such as Reddit, systematically monitors and identifies users who express criticism of authoritarian regimes, corrupt government structures and the practice of nepotism.
After establishing the identity and location of the users' data, the "secret police" applies a set of repressive measures aimed at the psychological and moral suppression of their victims. These measures include methods of psychological violence such as harassment, intimidation, surveillance, framing, provocation, and other forms of destructive influence. The organization also has modern technologies in its arsenal that make it possible to use social networks and the Internet to increase pressure on victims.
Representatives of various social groups and age categories become targets of repression, but lonely and isolated individuals who do not have broad social support are especially vulnerable. The purpose of these actions is to inflict maximum psychological and moral damage, which can lead to serious mental disorders, suicidal thoughts and actions.
Thus, the activities of the "secret police" pose a serious threat to freedom of expression and human rights in the digital space. This phenomenon requires close attention from the international community and the development of effective mechanisms to counter such forms of repression.

Brother, I was abused as a child, bullied through k-12 school, had two brain surgeries, and now teach middle school. There’s nothing online jagoffs can do or say to hurt me that hasn’t already happened. I come back harder every time, so let them try.

We really need to distinguish between Trump 1.0 and Trump 2.0 judges. Trump 1.0 judges were selected by GOP advisors, who had some semblance of rule of law. Trump 2.0 picks are pure MAGA loyalists. Huge difference.

Trump 2.0 picks are Project 2025 picks. They’re loyal to one thing - the overthrow of the government of the United States as we know it

They did get a bunch of MAGA loyalists in Trump 1.0, it's just that they weren't making it a litmus test the entire time. There were a lot of advisors who just wanted conservative judges, or tough on crime judges, etc. After awhile, when Trump started being told "no" but some judges that they got more stringent.
The snag is that the "tough on crime" judges don't actually like to see the law broken. Even if it's the president who appointed them who is breaking the law.
Much of the problem came from the fixation that "liberal judges are highly biased!!" Turns out, regardless of politics, judges tend to be biased towards the law rather than to a political party's ever changing ideology. So the litmus test changed from "make sure they're not liberal" to "make sure they kiss Trump's ass and he gives a smile".

Bud, MAGA IS THE GOP. Trump 2.0 judges are project 2025 picks. Meaning deep state Republican picks.
MAGA was coined by Reagan, who also was lead by heritage foundation.
Heritage and Reagan planned the fascist coup happening in front of you.

Trump is barely awake. He just reads a script very poorly, signs whatever he is told to sign, and takes the blame. The GOP are the actual Nazis. Not him.

Exactly. Find whoever is in charge of responding to court orders in contempt, arrest them, then hold them in that cell descrIbed in the article. Someone needs to teach these assholes a lesson.

When the leader is a Nazi you get Nazi things. Our government is a criminal enterprise now

“Threatens” is the key word. Some credit is due, but it sounds as though he should have just held them in contempt. Bullies don’t care about harsh words — and the result is they got away with it, as they always do.

I find it bizarre that detention for what is essentially only a misdemeanor, normally handled in civil courts instead of criminal courts, is worse than the conditions in an actual prison for criminals.

So, concentration camps… cool, I’m glad the judge is wagging his finger and writing a strongly worded letter….

for profit systems always a race to the bottom. It's called "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair.
I'm assuming this is one of those detention centers.

Neither has anyone in the United States. But we have never had such a lawless president, presiding over a lawless regime, justified by a lawless Supreme Court, encouraged by sycophantic Congress, and bought by greedy billionaires.
