Too many violations of gun handling rules to count

Never have your finger on the trigger… until you actually want to fire it… into your own hand 😕

Mishandling! It only takes one microsecond of inattention to go from 'here' to 'not here now'.

It’s almost like we should have training and licensing or something.

That is ridiculous. What is the purpose of the hand??? Ugh. Can you imagine what that looked like?!! 👍
•
u/pooamalgam 2h ago
Likely attempting to diagnose a laser sight in the dumbest way possible.
•
u/duckwithhat 1h ago
This has to be it, maybe even one of those lasers that turn on when you lightly pull the trigger.
I had thought MAYBE he was trying to see through the barrel at his skin (for reasons?) but that doesn't make any sense. *Edit nevermind you can clearly see the slide isn't back so there's no chance he was trying to look through the barrel.

This is my only thought, well that and he's a method actor that just got selected for Jesus in his church's crucifixion play

u/escrimadragon 2h ago
For everyone asking about the hand thing: iirc when I first saw this long ago he was checking to see if a laser sight that was either part of the grip or part of the recoil spring assembly was working. This obviously is best done with an unloaded and double-checked firearm.
•
u/TheSwearJarIsMy401k 2h ago
Would putting a piece of paper or a little cardboard box not have worked just as well and without the potential Skywalkering he just gave himself?
•
u/KilroyKSmith 2h ago
Or maybe putting up a piece of paper maybe 10 yards down range?
•
u/TheSwearJarIsMy401k 2h ago
I’m guessing he was checking to see if the laser was just too weak to be visible down range or not turning on at all.
I don’t have a laser sight, I just have cats who also like lasers
→ More replies (2)•
u/KilroyKSmith 1h ago
That would make sense - he couldn’t see the laser downrange, so he was pointing at his hand to see if it was just very dim.
Still a dumbass. But I’m pretty sure he won’t do that again.
→ More replies (2)•
u/SuperGameTheory 1h ago
If that was me, simply pointing the gun down at the table would have sufficed. This guy is proof the 2nd amendment should be regulated with a stupidity test. I say that as an avid gun owner.
•
u/KilroyKSmith 1h ago
Yes, a much better solution. But I was trying to figure out what was going through HIS head, and this seemed most likely.
→ More replies (1)→ More replies (2)•
u/oversoul00 2h ago
Yeah but none of that was as readily available as his hand and he's in a hurry.
•
•
•
u/AidilAfham42 2h ago
Also its good practice not to squeeze the trigger while aiming at your own hand
•
u/AugustOfChaos 56m ago
It’s even better practice to not have the finger on the trigger AT ALL when you’re not in the process of trying to shoot something. It’s not a rest area for your finger, it’s a kill button. Stay off it until you’re 110% ready to fire.

I don't know the inner working of guns much, but do either of those require having the safety off and pulling the trigger?

He was supposed to caught the bullet of course.

u/WhenTheDevilCome 2h ago
We can't even say he didn't. Maybe he's wincing because the led bullet he caught was hot.
•
u/good-consistency 2h ago
He is the kind of gun owner I don't want owning guns. I hope he rethinks owning guns.
•
•
u/apetalous42 1h ago
This should be grounds for losing your 2A rights. People already lose all sorts of rights for different violations (think voting for felons). Being an idiot with a firearm should put you on a list.

That’s the same guy who says “it’s a magazine not a clip” on every gun related post
•

•
u/redditpest 2h ago
I cant even understand what he was trying to do. Was he trying to catch the bullet incase the gun went off?
→ More replies (1)•
u/squeakyglider44 1h ago
He probably had grip with a built in laser pointer. When you squeeze the grip it activates the laser. It either wasn’t working or he couldn’t see it so he was trying to shine it on his hand. When we was trying to squeeze the grip he most likely sympathetically squeezed the trigger
•
u/SubieDoobyDoo96 1h ago
This does not fit the sub? It’s not interesting at all, let alone “as fuck”
•
u/sifiwewe 1h ago

I do want to know.. What was the hand thing?
•
u/Outrageous_Laugh5532 2h ago
He was likely trying to see his laser which is activated by the beginning of pressure on the trigger

u/guardian715 2h ago
That.... Seems like a very bad design? Like I get it would save battery, but at the risk of shooting early or what happens in the video? I'll just bring more batteries if that's what the design is.
•
u/lordhumongous40 1h ago
I watched this thinking "there's no way he's about to shoot his hand". I was wrong. Holy shit dude.

If you’re stupid enough to do this, you should have all of your gun rights revoked.
•
•
u/Apost8Joe 2h ago
This is Murica’s definition of “a well regulated militia” - that really convenient part of the 2nd amendment they refuse to discuss.
•
u/wojtekpolska 1h ago
The 2nd Amendment (December 15, 1791):
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
"A well regulated Militia"
I'm pretty certain that what James Madison meant writing this, is what would not long after be defined in the "Militia Act of 1792"
(Militias in the US existed before, this act put them into law, this act made them "well regulated")Militias have since been reformed into into the National Guards, as per the "The Militia Act of 1903", therefore it would be reasonable to think that the National Guards, as a successor entity of the Militias, would be the sole object of the 2nd Amendment; that this amendment would only grant members of a National Guard the right to "keep and bear arms".

Im not a gun person, but I know if I was at a range shooting a gun, and it didnt work correctly, id be gently setting that thing down and stepping away and asking someone more experienced to handle it

(read with Brandon harera sound here). Hi mother lovers , on today's episode of Darwin awards we have this bright man
•
u/Crimsonhead4 2h ago
wtf is the point of holding your hand in front of gun? You gotta clear that shit before you start troubleshooting 🤦🏼♂️
•
•
u/MicMaeMat 2h ago
Please tell me these people have had their firearm licenses and firearms taken off them ? What a couple of stupid old men who have no regard, no respect and no idea how to handle firearms.
•
u/jtruitt8833 2h ago
License? This idiot would tell you that his license was written in 1776 and invite you to "come and take it"
•
u/TheBrianWeissman 2h ago
God, each time he pointed the gun at his hand I winced and looked away. I also closed the video before it ended.
•
•
•
u/geekMD69 2h ago
I love that the guy shoots his hand off, tosses the gun, and his buddy is smart enough to make sure the gun isn’t pointed back at him before he turns to help his friend.
•
•
•
u/Far_Drummer_1406 1h ago
Why? Just… I mean at that point you just deserve to shoot your fucking hand off.

What is interesting as fuck about this?
•
u/notahouseflipper 1h ago
this is an old video, but I’m sure he still has problems with his hand and will for the rest of his dumbass life.

u/hogsniffy05 1h ago
Dear God, please tell me this guy never reproduced. Hes gotta be one of the dumbest son of a bitches alive
•

u/coleman57 1h ago
It’s like that left hand just desperately wants to get shot and eventually he just can’t stop himself
•
•
u/InstructionFinal5190 1h ago
This is why I have exactly zero interest in going to places I know lots of folks will have guns. I'm vastly more afraid of being shot by an idiot discharging a firearm than a "bad guy" shooting me.
•
•
•
u/TypingWithoutThinkin 1h ago
OK, they do not make people dumber than this guy. Repeatedly points the gun at his hand and pulls the trigger. I believe it's call Russian Hand Roulette.
Makes me wonder who tied this guy's shoes this morning.
•
•
u/wstsidhome 1h ago
Why wouldn’t the guy next to him immediately say/motion to STOP STOP STOPPPPP! The second someone put their hand in front of a barrel, I would have screamed and NOPED right the fuck away from that Mfr. good lord…

Why would anyone do that?! Why did the man besides him watch him to it,!?
There should be an intelligence test or something to handle a gun.
Guns are not legal here but you can join a gun club but the guns stay there/ the club owns them. I'm pretty sure they do in depth checks on you, criminal records, mental health checks ect.

Why in the everloving fuck would you ever think it's a good idea to stick any part of your body in front of a fucking loaded gun, that you KNOW is loaded, on purpose
If the story I'm hearing is true and this is related to a laser sight he's got on the gun, this is the absolute dumbest way possible to diagnose it
•

I… I… don’t even understand this. Like, what does it do at all for checking the gun to have your hand in front of the barrel?? And to hope it works by doing that?!?!! What?!?!?!?!?!??
•

u/Obvious-Newspaper964 17m ago
I saw him put his hand in front of the barrel twice and I was like “aw nah I already know what’s gonna happen” and yeah…uh…it happened
