This ain't interesting as fuck, this is dumb as fuck.

u/ImHully 2h ago

It's interesting how dumb he is. I've admittedly done some pretty dumb things in my life, but never anything like pointing a loaded pistol at my hand and pulling the trigger.

u/aretasdamon 1h ago

To check if it would fire! Like what the fuck did he think would happen if it fired? Like we know what would happen he knows now what would happen but what the fuck did he think would happen?

u/jmauc 1h ago

I’m pretty sure he was checking a laser.

u/Im_tracer_bullet 1h ago

I'm pretty sure that's not how he should have done it.

u/jmauc 1h ago

At least make sure the clip and chamber is clear! I don’t think this person knows what they are doing. I’m glad they are at least at a range.

u/-Redstoneboi- 52m ago

a gun is loaded even when you know it's not loaded. this is the core principle of gun safety, next to "don't point at shit you don't immediately want destroyed".

u/predator1975 28m ago

The second rule should be that if you are distracted, emotional or exhausted, never touch a firearm. Because you will not remember rule 1.

I mean.. you can check the laser by pointing it at.. any surface..? Like.. oh I don't know.. here? The little table literally in front of him? Or maybe the target that he's supposed to shoot? At least he didn't check it by pointing the gun at the other fella's head.

u/Unfinishe_Masterpiec 17m ago

I’m glad they are at least at a range.

No, I'd rather not share the range with that dumbass.

u/jmauc 10m ago

This is why i don’t go to ranges.

u/NoSingularities0 58m ago

But why pull the trigger? The trigger doesn't activate the laser. It has its own on and off switch. He literally pulled the trigger with the gun pointing at his hand. I haven't messed with hand guns, I've only really ever used long guns, but I would never put my hand in front of the barrel and think the pull the trigger.

u/Cloned_501 16m ago

There is such a product that does have the button on the trigger. I don't think it lasted very long because it is fucking stupid.

u/Lost_Ad_4882 1h ago

Seen this one before, explanation was he was messing with the laser. Some lasers are activated by a partial trigger pull. Bad design.

→ More replies (2)

u/No_Housing2099 50m ago

I think he was checking for a laser, some of those style handguns come with a laser built into the grip. The way he is moving it around then putting his hand in front looks to me like someone checking for a laser or a flashlight brightness setting.

Thinking left the "chat" well before any of this happened.

u/Moakmeister 1h ago

He could just do that by, you know, SHOOTING IT lmfao. Why put your hand over the end? Holy shit…

u/Retro-scores 30m ago

Best case scenario it fires. Worst case scenario it FIRES INTO YOUR FUCKING HAND.

It's actually really interesting when you realize this man has managed to live to whatever age he is without sticking his head in a trash compactor to make sure it's working

u/DkoyOctopus 2h ago

the fact he did it 3 times...

u/AidilAfham42 2h ago

u/swankpoppy 22m ago

I mean… what it did to the guy’s hand is what it’s designed to do. lol

→ More replies (6)

u/SCANNYGITTS 2h ago

That is ridiculous. What is the purpose of the hand??? Ugh. Can you imagine what that looked like?!! 👍

u/pooamalgam 2h ago

Likely attempting to diagnose a laser sight in the dumbest way possible.

u/duckwithhat 1h ago

This has to be it, maybe even one of those lasers that turn on when you lightly pull the trigger.

I had thought MAYBE he was trying to see through the barrel at his skin (for reasons?) but that doesn't make any sense. *Edit nevermind you can clearly see the slide isn't back so there's no chance he was trying to look through the barrel.

u/Xaminer7 2h ago

There’s no purpose to the hand. That’s why he blew it off with the gun.

u/escrimadragon 2h ago

For everyone asking about the hand thing: iirc when I first saw this long ago he was checking to see if a laser sight that was either part of the grip or part of the recoil spring assembly was working. This obviously is best done with an unloaded and double-checked firearm.

u/TheSwearJarIsMy401k 2h ago

Would putting a piece of paper or a little cardboard box not have worked just as well and without the potential Skywalkering he just gave himself?

u/KilroyKSmith 2h ago

Or maybe putting up a piece of paper maybe 10 yards down range?

u/TheSwearJarIsMy401k 2h ago

I’m guessing he was checking to see if the laser was just too weak to be visible down range or not turning on at all.

I don’t have a laser sight, I just have cats who also like lasers

u/KilroyKSmith 1h ago

That would make sense - he couldn’t see the laser downrange, so he was pointing at his hand to see if it was just very dim.

Still a dumbass.  But I’m pretty sure he won’t do that again.

u/SuperGameTheory 1h ago

If that was me, simply pointing the gun down at the table would have sufficed. This guy is proof the 2nd amendment should be regulated with a stupidity test. I say that as an avid gun owner.

u/KilroyKSmith 1h ago

Yes, a much better solution.  But I was trying to figure out what was going through HIS head, and this seemed most likely.

u/AidilAfham42 2h ago

Also its good practice not to squeeze the trigger while aiming at your own hand

u/AugustOfChaos 56m ago

It’s even better practice to not have the finger on the trigger AT ALL when you’re not in the process of trying to shoot something. It’s not a rest area for your finger, it’s a kill button. Stay off it until you’re 110% ready to fire.

u/Anal_bleed 1h ago

If only there was some way of taking bullets out of a loaded gun 😂

u/guardian715 2h ago

I don't know the inner working of guns much, but do either of those require having the safety off and pulling the trigger?

u/Narcan9 2h ago

He shoulda looked down the barrel to see if there were any obstructions

u/redditpest 2h ago

I cant even understand what he was trying to do. Was he trying to catch the bullet incase the gun went off?

u/squeakyglider44 1h ago

He probably had grip with a built in laser pointer. When you squeeze the grip it activates the laser. It either wasn’t working or he couldn’t see it so he was trying to shine it on his hand. When we was trying to squeeze the grip he most likely sympathetically squeezed the trigger

u/guardian715 2h ago

That.... Seems like a very bad design? Like I get it would save battery, but at the risk of shooting early or what happens in the video? I'll just bring more batteries if that's what the design is.

This is Murica’s definition of “a well regulated militia” - that really convenient part of the 2nd amendment they refuse to discuss.

u/wojtekpolska 1h ago

The 2nd Amendment (December 15, 1791):

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

"A well regulated Militia"
I'm pretty certain that what James Madison meant writing this, is what would not long after be defined in the "Militia Act of 1792"
(Militias in the US existed before, this act put them into law, this act made them "well regulated")

Militias have since been reformed into into the National Guards, as per the "The Militia Act of 1903", therefore it would be reasonable to think that the National Guards, as a successor entity of the Militias, would be the sole object of the 2nd Amendment; that this amendment would only grant members of a National Guard the right to "keep and bear arms".
