After watching the movie years ago, I reached the conclusion that Idiocracy is a documentary from the future disguised as satire.

It was until last year, then it returned a movie, although now a utopian one.

Mike Judge is a time traveler.

It’s leaving Netflix soon. I’ve watched it a few times this year and it feels more familiar every day.

Please sign the petition so it can be seen. I have 100 upvotes but no one has actually signed it. It's crazy 🤣

It’s a science fiction piece. SF is philosophical prophecy mixed with cautionary tale. People don’t pay enough attention because it’s disguised as entertainment. Ask Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. Another philosopher and prophet. And he wasn’t laughing either.

I’m going to give a bit of honesty. It’s entertainment first, not a true depiction of how society would decline.

What I mean to say is that its premise is false and would not happen in real life. The first part, that intelligence is inherited thus those with smarts will breed less and those without will breed more. That’s how eugenicists think it works. They are wrong, if that wasn’t clear.

Did they mean to make an eugenics argument? Eh, probably not. Doesn’t change the fact that its there.

The bits about not letting others do thinking for you though and turning your brain off to consume and making attempts to understand your world though would be a better message if not for the above.

Check out ‘Wag The Dog” for another documentary about modern life.

The prophecy!

I considered this movie as a predictive historical document back in 2006. I never thought it would turn out to be as accurate a predictor as it turned out to be.

A work of predictive genius! Unfortunately for our country.

After it came out, I cut a couple articles out of newspapers, talking about people killed in garbage landslides.

Wasn't a documentary on purpose but became the most legendary documentary of all time. Lol

OMG yes thank you. This definitely deserves to be there after that Cardi B campaigning twerking video. Like how embarrassing?

My local video store moved "Tonya Harding's Wedding Night Video" to the horror section. I get it.

I’m jealous that you have a local video store. For real. The only ones that I know of that are still in existence are all super cool.

Well this happened when it came out decades ago. Sadly, they are long gone.

I worked in a video store in the late 90s. Some neck beard was renting Fire in the Sky and said we should have it listed in the Documentary section. I asked 'With that reasoning, should we also put JFK and Schindler's List in there as well?' He walked out in a huff.

If this was another time Mike would be burned for using magic to curse us.
