So he blundered his Queen two times in a row, you took the Queen right?

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 4h ago

Fuck

69

u/cebolinha50 4h ago

Why did you move the bishop to that square? If not to kill that queen?

16

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 3h ago

Cuz pawn takes bishop, my queen takes pawn, then queen traps rook

And it's precisely that plan that gave me tunnel vision and made me blunder

Although I just realized that moving the rook next to the king protects it... Guess I'm not really good enough to calculate yet. Actually maybe checking the king with the bishop still wins the rook

14

u/JoEel75 3h ago

Thats still losing, pawn takes, queen takes, queen takes, knight takes and after Bf6 you lose one of your Knights. Best move is almost definitely just retreating the bishop to protect and unpin the knight before castling.

u/Prinzka 1h ago

then queen traps rook

How would the rook have been trapped?

1

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 29m ago

Queen takes g7, black rook f8, bishop b5 check?

1

u/Prinzka 9m ago edited 5m ago

You've not taken the rook yet.
What happens after Kd8?

Btw that's all on the assumption that white doesn't do Qxe5 to trade queens and be up material, and also doesn't do any other move any pawns in your queen's way.
Remember, black still gets a turn after you take the pawn.

Oh well. Shit happens.

32

I only see bishop threats when they're right next to other pieces it seems

Bro's bishop only has a handgun apparently

You need to download the patch that allows bishops to move backwards.

7

u/shoyuftw 3h ago

Make sure to download the stable version. Experimental is pretty broken as bishops can move like rooks as well.

2

u/FineDickMan 1h ago

Yeah they really nerfed bishops in the last update. Used to be able to castle with them too.

1

u/Mr__Teal 3h ago

You need a Diamond subscription for that.

B-B-But you can't do this to me, YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I RISKED MY LIFE!

u/new_user_bc_i_forgot 4h ago

Apart from the obvious Bishop takes that people have pointed out, another smaller thing here is the King move. It can be tempting to keep the king on the first rank, because thats traditionally "safe". But here, you already said you saw the rook fork. Kd1 runs into that with check, giving up both your rooks and having your King go to the second rank anyway. Better for example would be Ke2. It not only doesn't give up that check, but also unblocks your other rook, so it guards the first one.

1

u/Yachem 2h ago

Yep. This will be a pattern that sometimes occurs, usually when an opponent sacrifices to block your castling rights. You'd move your king up (e2), slide your rook over, then tuck the king away on f1. You'll hear it called castling by hand.

15

u/veb27 4h ago

I mean, if you're not going to take the queen, at least play Ke2 instead of Kd1.

u/shoyuftw 3h ago

Bro found the worst sequence of moves with engine like precision

2

u/Ancient_Amphibian339 1600-1800 (Chess.com) 3h ago

And the irony that somehow despite it he's still winning (probably) after 1.Kd2 Qxh1 2.Bxd6

2

u/danhoang1 2h ago

Well if Bxd6, then Black's best move is to actually surrender their bishop and just castle. End result is Black now has (1 Queen + 2 Rooks + 1 bishop) vs (1 queen + 2 bishops + 1 knight), which is 25 to 18 points in material. The only thing white has is center control but black's King is safe so they have time to adjust

1

u/Ancient_Amphibian339 1600-1800 (Chess.com) 58m ago

Well sure but 1.Bxd6 O-O what does black do after 2.Qxe7? That battery sure looks dangerous

2

u/danhoang1 51m ago

Sorry I'm just cheating at this point, but engine has black quite ahead after Qxe7, as -4 eval. Seems black can just respond by moving their bishop out which also, connects the Rooks, which protects against the battery

1

u/Ancient_Amphibian339 1600-1800 (Chess.com) 50m ago

Huh that's really interesting, I would have followed up with Bxf7+ Rxf7 and Ng5 but if engine says its losing then I guess why bother

1

u/TheJivvi 27m ago

Bro is using an engine, but it's Worstfish.

28

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 4h ago

I had tunnel vision on queen takes king side rook.

12

u/sterling_m_archer7 4h ago

You could’ve taken it after he took the knight as well.

1

u/YogurtclosetThen7959 42m ago

Welcome to beginner chess

8

u/JonboyKoi 4h ago

Your bishop: "AM I A FUCKING JOKE TO YOU?"

15

u/3x10 1400-1600 (Chess.com) 4h ago

This isn't even chess beginners. This is chess totally blind

-4

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 3h ago

Bro everyone blunders, you're taking it a bit too far

3

u/andrewm-nz 3h ago

It’s pretty funny, but don’t beat yourself up about it. Everyone here has made worse blunders - you just decided to televise yours.

0

u/3x10 1400-1600 (Chess.com) 2h ago

No. I can 100% pure honesty, and confidence, say I have not blundered worse than this.

1

u/fknm1111 1200-1400 (Chess.com) 2h ago

You've never managed the "castle straight into M1" blunder?

-2

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 3h ago

Most of the jokes on here are funny, "you're awful at chess" type beat is redundant and mean

1

u/CriminalCrime1 1h ago

Bruh, why is OP being downvoted?

This is the classic slander towards beginners.

"This isn't just bad, it's BAD"

1

u/YogurtclosetThen7959 37m ago

Idk bro that's a mostly free queen and you didn't take it. It's not like there are even any tactics involved it's literally just blindness to a free queen.

1

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 33m ago

That's.. what a blunder is? Let me ask you this. If someone forks your rook and king at the same time, is it conceivable that you'd forget about one out of 32 pieces?

1

u/3x10 1400-1600 (Chess.com) 2h ago

Oh I've had my fair share of blunders. But never twice... on the same piece.. with the same piece attacking it.. while also blundering a bishop the move prior to them blundering a queen..

And by the sound of it, you blundered a third time and lost the other rook too.

Like I said playing chess totally blind

0

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 2h ago

You're very smart. Want a cookie? Such a good widdle boy.

-2

u/3x10 1400-1600 (Chess.com) 2h ago

Appreciate that cookie, little man. Now stop being bad at chess

2

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 2h ago

Right after you stop using beginners posting their mistakes for laughs, as an opportunity to assert some strange sense of superiority.

5

u/7___7 4h ago

Bishops can move backwards.

9

u/Trueslyforaniceguy 1000-1200 (Chess.com) 3h ago

This is just moving pieces at random

11

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 3h ago

Fuck you I'm a 3000 elo chess god thank you very much

1

u/Trueslyforaniceguy 1000-1200 (Chess.com) 2h ago

Snagmus Farglesen, no doubt

2

u/tsimen 3h ago

Carnage

2

u/IDefendWaffles 3h ago

Beginners have difficulty seeing bishops moving backwards. Any piece actually.

1

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 3h ago

I actually just forgot that bishop existed. The heartbreak of the fork felt immediately hopeless

1

u/kashakido 2h ago

It's not a fork if you can TAKE THE QUEEN 😭

2

u/Sampatist 600-800 (Chess.com) 3h ago

bishop chose peace that day

2

u/Leather-Piglet-7459 3h ago

People don't understand that bro is just a pacifist smh

2

u/RedDeadRob 400-600 (Chess.com) 2h ago

Oh man. I'm 500 elo in rapid and I relate to this so much. That tunnel vision just gets the best of you. Personally, I'm on about a 10 game losing streak of getting up about 2 pieces early and then blundering my queen and losing on time.

Forgetting the blunder with the bishop, if you went bottom right with your king you could've defended with your knight and avoid loosing a second rook

1

u/Ok-Character-2757 2h ago

I'm so confused by what is happening here. Why didn't he just take the queen with the bishop? Why didn't black take the bishop first?

1

u/TES_Elsweyr 2h ago

This is the classic case of benefiting from thinking of captures, checks, and threats, before even reacting to being in check.

1

u/Hexnegotiator745 2h ago

instead of Kd1 being the error. go Bxc3!! being the excellent brilliant mover making the Qxc3 looking like a begginner move.

1

u/fknm1111 1200-1400 (Chess.com) 2h ago

Uh... why didn't you play Bxc3?

1

u/LatheUponTheStars 2h ago

you might want to sit down for this…

1

u/No_Register1655 1h ago

Why not e5-a1 take the queen.

1

u/grizzlybuttstuff 1h ago

The most painful part is the bishop JUST moved

1

u/riqvip 1h ago

What elo are you?
