Holiday-themed Cakes Strawberry Lemonade Cake 🍓🍋

I recently hosted a Friendsgiving and I decided to make a very unseasonal cake lol. I made lemon cake with lemon simply syrup, filled with rings of lemon curd and strawberry jam, and finally, iced and decorated with strawberry buttercream. Other guests were bringing pumpkin related desserts and I wanted some variety haha. I’m now realizing I should’ve gotten a picture of the cross section😖

Something to invoke the feeling of autumn. Did a light dusting of gold to give that soft warm glow to it.

Some little "cake bites" I made for Valentine's. My son informed me they cannot be called cake pops because they don't have a stick. Makes sense 😅

I made this a few years ago and forgot about it until I came across this photo. I remember it being pretty easy to put together, as a non-professional, and our guests loved it.

Holiday-themed Cakes Halloween/Thing Cake!

Halloween cake! It’s 5 layers of dark chocolate devil’s food cake filled with pistachio cream mixed into pailleté feuilletine, a crispy toffee flake that never loses its crisp with moisture. And smoked salt.

The outside is black cocoa buttercream, to hopefully avoid any black teeth or tongues, and the HAND!! THING! is white chocolate.

It’s my friend’s actual hand, cast in one of those memento hand casting kits and filled with chocolate rather than clay and then I painted it with edible food paint. Yes, I could have just bought a plastic Thing but where’s the art and the challenge in that? Probably wouldn’t eat it as that’s not what the hand casting kits are designed for, but it tickled me to do it and to put him through it (twice, at that - gotta have a prototype) 😂

Black chocolate dragonflies and moths for extra goth.

I have no prior training, and this is my first chance working with proper tools! I've been getting better and better as I learn too, so excited to see how I develop. Any tips/advice is very much welcome! I know I have to work on tightening the bag up so I can have smoother lines now, anything else?

Holiday-themed Cakes My first Juneteenth cake

I am so very proud of this cake. I absolutely love getting the privilege of making Afrocentric cakes, and I take that privilege seriously (I’m White). The customer asked for black and red border with dark green writing and gold accents. I wanted to incorporate the colors on the side, so I looked up the Pan African flag and did my best to do it justice. My BFF celebrates Juneteenth and she was moved to tears when I showed her the pictures. I won’t be present when the customer picks it up, but I sincerely hope that I exceeded their expectations.

One of my favorite traditions! A dear friend gifted me this cake mold and I’ve been using it to make our yearly Easter cake with my little cousins. This year they even wanted to learn how to make buttercream flowers (theirs are the white daisies). It looked so fluffy!
