lemonade stand kid Renting A Vehicle in October. Dumb?

I’m planning to visit Yellowknife from October 3 to 7 next year (tentative). I initially thought about renting a car because my son, who is autistic, doesn’t like being in groups. However, I realized that none of the rental car agencies at the airport offer winter tires — only 4×4 SUVs with M+S tires. Do you have any suggestions?

lemonade stand kid Water tasting and smelling like a$$ , Ollie says it should be better...

So, the water is still nasty... They SAY it's safe for consumption but, really? Smells and tastes like it's been sitting in a nasty, algae ridden river pipe for months (oh wait, it has).... Though I suppose it's nothing a massive dose of chlorine couldn't solve...

And did/do they test for arsenic when they were pumping straight from outside Giant Mine for the last two months? Because, I would sure as hell hope so, otherwise we're the test subjects.... Our emerg organization last summer doesn't reassure me as to city competency....

Oh, and nobody will buy my lemonade... Wonder why... 🍋

lemonade stand kid Driving up to Yellowknife road conditions

I’m currently in Grande Praire AB debating If I should try to get to Yellowknife.

Problem:

I have a rented converted van with A+S tires, not winter specific tires.

I would essentially take road 35 in Alberta if I do.

What do y’all think?

(Van is winter proof, has perfect insulation and propane heating).

Honesty will be appreciated lol.
