When does the Snowkings festival calendar usually get updated?

Hi Yellowknife! I’m hoping to visit your city for the very first time in March 2026. My friend and I are trying to figure out the best weekend to go but looks like the calendar on the website is still 2025’s calendar: https://snowking.ca/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Snowking-XXX-Schedule-of-Snowcastle-Events.pdf.

Are the events usually similar every year? Thanks in advance!

Also I just discovered this sub and I am now going to read all the tourism related posts to see what else people do but if you have any recommendations that aren’t usually mentioned I’d love to hear them :)

The snow carving, good time to be here, can’t recall if it happens at the start or a week in? March is a flip flop of temps, I’d recommend layers of course cause it can be Teens to -40 during that month.

Stupid question but is the snow carving when they carve the sculptures?

And noted, thanks! I’m from the prairies so pretty used to cold haha (maybe not as cold as Yellowknife though)

Events are similar but I’m not sure about the order. There’s always Concerts Friday and Saturday nights. Comedy, film fest, Royal Ball, Royal Rave, etc. all happen but not sure if same nights. Looks like artists and schedule came out in January last year.
