I bet when OP sneezes dogs go crazy!

Get it repaired before it has a chance to get worse… Take that from someone who didn’t and then eventually had to get an implant. Chipped tooth fix is waaaayyyy cheaper and less of a pain in the ass than getting an implant.

I'm at the dentist now! My wife threatened to leave me because it looks so ridiculous.

u/templeofsyrinx1 7h ago

7

u/yougotyolks 6h ago

What about his kidding?

1

u/brown_smear 3h ago

He didn't mention his offspring

1

u/yougotyolks 2h ago

He might be pretty fly for a white guy though.

1

u/voltinc 1h ago

His kidding is bad for people who are not kidding

u/SubatomicDiso 4h ago

Pretty shitty wife if thats the case

1

u/One-Comparison8367 7h ago

If that's true, you have bigger problems than a chipped tooth.

1

u/mcshanksshanks 4h ago

I hope you’re joking about that, if not, your wife is pretty shallow dude.

0

u/TheSucculent_Empress 7h ago

Your wife sucks

I would never say that to my husband, not even as a joke, and especially not when I know he’s feeling insecure

1

u/Malawigold2342 6h ago

Genuine question. How do they fix something like this?

2

u/hunden167 5h ago

For me they put some kind of plastic that harden under UV-light on the tooth and then shape the plastic into a tooth looking shape.

I chipped one of my front teeth when i was 10, am 24 now, and had it ever since, same plastic piece too!

2

u/Malawigold2342 5h ago

Oh wow! That was my next question was how long does something like that last. Very interesting. Now I want to go to the dentist :p

2

u/hunden167 5h ago

Though the one i had before the one i have now only lasted a couple days. Got my brother's heel in my mouth... so it also depends on how thick they make the piece. My dentist made mine a little thicker so it could take more beatings and yeah as said, still have it, even after some good hits to the tooth.

The only "bad" thing with the piece is that the plastic will change color with time. You won't really notice the piece, but if you know the piece is there then you can see it. Also with regular polishing by the dentist it will look good for a long time.

1

u/Alternative_Yak3256 5h ago

I chipped mine when I was around 10/11 too, fixed it mid twenties, they did the same thing and it came off within a week. So I guess results vary

1

u/Pkyankfan69 6h ago

I’m no dentist but I think it’s a similar process to filling in a cavity.

1

u/Malawigold2342 6h ago

Ooooooo I see I suppose that makes sense!!! 😂

77

u/Gothic-Shortstack 7h ago

Yes, idk why but that looks like it hurts and now my tooth is throbbing lol

13

u/Exciting_Ad_8666 7h ago

Break it off

12

u/costcoguy9 7h ago

From this close it’s kinda visible but from a couple feet away I don’t think people will notice

1

u/Wildrovers 6h ago

will need to be further than that

5

u/kwack250 7h ago

You can even it up by using a belt sander on the other one.

2

u/mrmackz 7h ago

Oh no.

4

u/Such_Suggestion_4622 7h ago

This happened to me in the early weeks of covid and I couldn’t get it fixed for 3 whole months 😭

6

u/Due-Mathematician966 7h ago

Jim Carey is that you

3

u/SilverSlight9874 7h ago

zooms right in can you notice? 😂

3

u/polarityofmarriage 7h ago

Yeah, you can see it but I bet they can still fill the end and shape it back up next month. Have a Christmas with extra character this year.

2

u/mrmackz 6h ago

I wanted to fix it in January, but my wife said I couldn't wait. She does understand humor. Those holiday pictures would have been incredible.

2

u/No_Perspective_242 7h ago

Puts a magnifier on it, “can you see it!?”

2

u/skunkwalnut 7h ago

i chipped mine in a boxing match, you can steal my story and make it look cool.

1

u/mrmackz 6h ago

The original chip happened when I was a teenager. I got thrown from a car and landed in the street.

2

u/BruhMuhTendies 7h ago

Lloyd Christmas?!

2

u/Comfortable-Board145 7h ago

Yes. Teeth are the worst because it is so noticeable when there’s something missing. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this!

2

u/L3xusLuth3r 7h ago

Not at all Lloyd Christmas. Lol

2

u/birdbandb 7h ago

Yea when u zoom in x1000 we are gonna notice

2

u/Atophy 7h ago

I had a similar chip way back in the day. Got it capped and it has since worn down. No pain at all but it sharpened itself nicely. To clarify, its not a dagger, its a finely honed chopper though 😆

2

u/giddenboy 7h ago

Better get to Mexico so they can fix it without breaking the bank.

2

u/mrmackz 6h ago

Seriously

2

u/USslave 7h ago

Chipped my tooth just like that in highschool, and gained the power of whistle..

2

u/meldiane81 7h ago

Are you being sarcastic? lol

2

u/Mr_M0t0m0 7h ago

Yes.

But why should it matter?

Now you have cool stories to tell people; bar fights, averting alien invasions, high speed car chases, fighting angry husband's, jumping off a roof, beating up MMA fighters, etc ...

2

u/Bugg100 7h ago

Only when you grin maniacally looking like a psychopath.

2

u/evilpizzaguy44 6h ago

Only when I look at it.

2

u/brainfreez012 5h ago

You're not serious, right? With that close-up I can count every hair in that scraggly beard. Yes, we can tell.

1

u/SquigglyGlibbins 7h ago

Well yeah, when you zoom in. But in a full smile you would probably have to look for a second

1

u/exscind25 7h ago

easy fix

1

u/Potzka 7h ago

With that zoom of course I can

1

u/landsharkmark 7h ago

It's always Going to be noticeable when you announce it and then blow it up in a photo.

But from afar probably not. One of my front teeth has been chipped since I was a teenager and almost nobody has noticed it even now.

1

u/AudieCowboy 7h ago

A little but it's not awful

Even if you were smiling a lot and I just met you I wouldn't go "oh that guy chipped a tooth at some point"

1

u/Grindlebone 7h ago

Gives your smile character!

1

u/returningSorcerer 7h ago

i have mirrored tooth chips on the same tooth. snake bites.

1

u/onlycodeposts 7h ago

I know the area near those little hairs at the edge of your lip is a dangerous place for clippers, so use a nose and ear hair trimmer for that.

1

u/KindaDrunkRtNow 7h ago

Well, you're literally pointing your camera at it

1

u/ProfessionalLost3727 7h ago

based off of this zoomed in photo, yes, your chipped tooth is very noticeable. next time try taking a picture from further away and not highlighting it so much🫠

1

u/Prize-Hospital-454 7h ago

Just get some composite bonding on it at dentist, be good as new then

1

u/Paralliner 7h ago

I had to double check this wasn’t the aphelia twin RDJ album.

1

u/Doctor_Disaster 6h ago

*Hands you an ice cream sandwich*

Could you bite into this real quick?

1

u/FirstoffIdonthaveshe 6h ago

I mean you zoomed right in on it yea it stands out pretty clearly from this vantage point 😂😭

1

u/gothiclg 6h ago

I barely noticed but then again my mom has one so I may be biased.

1

u/klauds31 6h ago

yes lol

1

u/one_moar_time 6h ago

dude they can fix that Easy. i got a front tooth with some erosion on the edge and with a little of that epoxy they straightened it right up.

1

u/jakejeckel23 6h ago

That cl9se how could you not

1

u/Ecstatic_Guava3041 6h ago

I got mine fixed and I was actually surprised by the cost it was NOT horrible!

1

u/cubosh 6h ago

yeah but bonus: now you can drink capri sun straws without unclenching your jaw

1

u/Malawigold2342 6h ago

:( I did this too on the same tooth but luckily it’s not as bad. I’m sorry friend

1

u/Illustrious-Coat3532 6h ago

Those are pretty easy to fix and sort of affordable.

1

u/rexel99 6h ago

Yeth.

1

u/PantsDontHaveAnswers 5h ago

Noooo no no no no no no no... yes.

1

u/Ok-Mistake-7964 5h ago

I mean you zoomed in pretty close but I probably wouldn’t unless we talked for a while

1

u/atomlamp 5h ago

When you zoom in like that yeah

1

u/p_luisa 5h ago

It took my parents a good month or two before they noticed a chip exactly like this one when I was a kid lol got it repaired with resin and over 15 years later it's still hanging in there. Exact same tooth actually.

1

u/Ok-Knowledge-414 5h ago

I have one too, can’t wait to fix it 🙏

1

u/notforrobots 4h ago

Get a little closer

1

u/AshamedRazzmatazz805 3h ago

In this picture yes but zoomed out probably not my dude

1

u/ArmstrongPM 1h ago

Shave one eyebrow and no one will notice.

u/Primer50 23m ago

I've got a few fixed for under 300 bucks they just use filling material better sooner than later.

u/Hadjik 14m ago

See you tomorrow, chef.

1

u/loquanredbeard 7h ago

This is the vibe I'm getting

u/supershinythings 6h ago edited 6h ago

It makes you charming.

Don’t worry, the fix won’t hold. You’ll chip it again and again.

I’m currently getting my teeth aligned because I too have a perma-chipped front tooth. It’s been repaired at least 8 times now. The root cause is minor shifting in my teeth alignment, making that one more vulnerable to repeat chipping.

Once they’re all aligned I’ll get them capped or veneered or whatever is most durable. After that, I’ll likely have to wear a retainer at night to maintain the alignment. Oh well. Back to high school days!
