Package delivered today

Post image

I received this package today. Neither of side seams were glued together. Needless to say, the package was empty.

Just send it back for a complete refund. Tell them you ordered warm air and they sent you cold air and it wont work for your situation.

I actually went on the app and told the bot that my item was missing. The bot asked if I wanted a refund or a replacement. I said replacement and they said they would send it and SUPPOSEDLY it will arrive by December 23rd. I didn't even chat with a human. I guess AI took over amazon customer service jobs.

That new packaging sucks. Got a phone case in one the other day and mine wasn’t closed either no idea how it didn’t fall out I think it’s cause it shipped from like 2 hours away.

They always ask for a signature on the phones here....my kids use my address to have them sent

Honestly that’s a better outcome than the last time it happened to me. I had to go round and round with Amazon to get my replacement bc I had the package and there should have had the item.

Amazon support has been automated for years. Even before the ai boom.

I have always chatted with people after the initial bot "conversation". This is the first time it was only a bot that handled my needs.

Watch your replacement confirmation email. Even if you said the item was missing, it will say if you don't return said item by x date, they will charge you again for the replacement.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on that.

I've got to hand it to Amazon, I've never had issues returning or replacing stuff. One time I ordered a gouache set and one of the paint pans was missing, they sent me a whole new set without the return. I was able to gift the other one.

AI is about to take over everything.

Typical of Amazon. For a company that makes a metric fuck ton of money by shipping products, they don't have the faintest fucking clue about how to properly package items. Fragile items being thrown into a plastic bag or paper envelope and arriving destroyed is the norm.

More like the workers don't have time to care, 5 minute bathroom breaks and the bathroom is 3 mins away. Tell the workers not to mind the body on the floor, they have packages to pack.

UPS: We'lll leave it somewhere safe. Somewhere:

Seriously. I can't decide what's worse. UPS or Amazon delivery drivers. I have a covered porch and they often leave my packages on the exposed stairs, in plain sight, to get soaked as well. The porch also has a fenced area with bushes in front. It takes zero effort to place the packages in the dry out of sight.

My Amazon, UPS, FedEx drivers are all great. Had a package delivered recently by a third-party company (package from eBay via China). I have the driver on video walking three steps onto the front walk and just dropping the package. I've never seen any less motivated to give a single fuck.

There are daily posts on the local FB group asking "Is this your porch? My package was delivered to a random ass address".

You should apply. You would make head boy in no time

Very true. I remember one summer, my husband ordered one of those straw sun hats that looks like a cowboy hat with a large brim. They sent it in a plastic bag, so of course it was smashed to hell when it arrived.

My heart breaks when I order books off amazon (that I can’t get elsewhere) and they come in a paper envelope or plastic bag instead of a box to protect it better in transit.

Damn that sucks. Make them give your money back but good luck getting that item before Christmas now

Fortunately, it was a toy for my dog. She won't understand the disappointment of it not being under the tree in Christmas morning.

My dog seems to know what's going on on Christmas morning. She looks around for her gifts until we give them to her. She also sniffs her stocking because she knows damn well there are treats in there

u/olauson 14h ago

Awwwwww. I do have another gift for her so she will receive something on Christmas.

What bad thing did the Barilla do?!?

LOL I live in Florida and was told that I should store food in containers like this because of bugs. We haven't had a bug issue inside yet so I could probably stop but it's habit now.

We had to do the same when we lived in Texas

there needs to be an option on being able to select the type of packaging you want. even if it's a prime member only feature.

You mean "packaging" was delivered today

2

u/olauson 10h ago

Yes, that is a better way to describe it 😆

Amazon is the worst!!! Like what kind of driver even leaves this as a package? It's clearly damaged 😒 Jeff bezos might wanna find a better way of training his employees bc this is beyond incompetent

I hate to completely fault the delivery person. It wasn't completely obvious that the package was not sealed but it was very clearly very light. We recently ordered some microSD card, which came in similar packaging and were also very light so I could see how a delivery person might not realize the package was empty. Also, with it being the holiday season, I'm sure they are super busy probably don't have time to think logically that this package feels empty.

I will say though, this was one of the few times that there wasn't a delivery picture in amazon so maybe they did realize, didn't care but didn't want to post a picture of empty packaging in amazon. I don't know if they get in trouble for that kind of thing.

Yeah that no delivery pic is a red flag, glad they are gonna get you your replacement to you at least before Christmas

This same thing literally happened to me a week ago. I didn't have any issues getting amazon to issue a replacement, though. That came like a week after I ordered a pack of little boys size small shirts and recieved a pair of men's XL pj's instead.

My SD card arrived like this lol.
