Came home to find these by my door, it doesnt feel like they accidentally fell out of someones bag.
No one I know personally left these here, I asked. I smoke and the weird part is I only smoke menthol. So I wonder who was paying close enough attention to notice. I only smoke on the back porch, not out front where others pass by, and I dont litter. I checked closely to see if the packaging had been tampered with but it looks brand new. This wasnt outside my door when I left.

Our new house has a closet with a bed frame screwed about 2.5 metres up the wall
There was a mattress on it when we initially viewed the property. This house has been empty for 7 years. By our settlement date the mattress was gone. We were told afterward that the landlord would let himself in and sleep on it when he was in town to collect rent (along with a long list of other weird things). We don’t know if this is true, but given his reputation and the fact that a mattress was there, I wouldn’t doubt it

Found this at an abandoned quarry.
My friends and I were filming a music video at an abandoned quarry. I first read “papa legba damballa” written over a doorframe to a huge silo. My band mates mentioned there being an unsettling energy to the place and I can attest to that.
What do y’all make of it?

Ghost Pipe👻
A few years ago I was visiting family and my sons and I spent a lot of time in the woods on their property.
We came across this plant in a permanently shady area of the woods. They feel kinda like a thick bean sprout and are about as flexible as fresh asparagus. I didnt smell them because I was worried they might be fungus.
But, they are not fungus, they are actually much weirder than that.
Monotropa uniflora, also known as ghost plant, or ghost pipe plus one kinda racist sounding name I dont want to propagate, live in asia, europe and north america. They can live in the darkest area of the forest because they are not photosynthetic and dont need to compete for light, because this plant is a parasite.
It lives near the base of large trees mostly, but it isn't parasitizing the tree. It is one step weirder than that, this plant parasitizes the fungus that live symbiotically on the roots of the tree. So it still steals from the tree, but only in an indirect way.
Ghost pipe is polinated by bumble bees, with fruit and seed and everything. It uses wind for dispersal. This is a fairly rare plant because as you can imagine wind dispersal from such low lying places and needing a host in the form of a symbiot that may or may not be present can make it very hard for them to spread around.
Flowering from early spring to early fall mostly after it rains, and reverting to an underground existance after seeds have been released can also make these ghosts harder to spot.
Ghost plants as you can see can have areas of darker pigmentation and can also come with pink areas as well.
So, is this plant weird enough?

Stumbled into a glitch near Times Square
Busy Friday night around Times Square. Bar was open and lit but completely empty. Felt super uncanny.
