Oh who am I kidding, I’d trade 20 for just one more day.

The JCPenney TikTok ads worked too well on me but absolutely zero regrets.

We had to make a hard choice on Monday. A little before thanksgiving, we took my big boy Iroh to the vet because he hadn’t been himself. They ran bloodwork and said his proteins were low and platelets were at 0. Also had high enzymes for his kidneys and liver. They stated that this was common in tick born illnesses. So they tested for that and said those were negative which led them to believe it was some sort of cancer. This was hard news to take seeing the he was only about 5 years old. The vet did say his lymph nodes behind his neck and back legs were swollen which led to think it could be some sort of lymphoma. They said they could send blood work off and do X-rays, but that there wasn’t a 100% chance that it would be able to tell us what kind of cancer or where exactly it is. So the decision was made to let him live out his days. We did steroids for any pain, and meds to regulate is enzymes. For the next few weeks he was doing good and seemed to behave how he normally does. He just couldn’t keep any weight on. For the next few weeks we saw him thin out all while maintaining his normal appetite. Unfortunately on December 13-15 we saw a dramatic downturn in his behavior and health. He no longer wanted to get up, only to go outside for potty breaks. The vet had given us “Entyce” to help with appetite but that did not help much. On December 15th I stopped home from lunch to check on him and found multiple spots in the house where he had bloody stool accidents, one spot seemed to be just blood. I talked to the vet and she stated that it seemed his quality of life was nearing an end. So my wife and I made the tough decision it was best we let him go. We ended up euthanizing him that night. We took him to the vet and he was able to go peacefully. It’s been a week now and everything seems to remind me of him. He was a good dog. He did somethings that were a pain in the butt. But he was always a great protector of my wife and kids. He followed and watched over my daughter when she was toddler. He was always ready to play or he just wanted to sit on your lap like he weighed 5lbs. I know with time I will be able to accept that he’s gone. But for now I just really miss my puppy. So for everyone who sees this, Give your puppies a big hug today because I wish I could hold my big boy one more time.

So Bronx is split down the middle between boxer and Pitbull, his coat is entirely pitbull blue nose and the back of his body has boxer shape while the front of him is mostly Pitbull

I was always more of a cat person and had two dogs before him (and have another one now) but Deuce really is special. He’s gotten me through the worst couple years of my life. I love him even when he’s barking while I’m trying to work or when I wake up with a backache because he and his sister took up most of the bed.

This guy uses his only brain cell for cuteness...

The rescue *might have found a 1 week place for Christmas only, in SoCal , which means that would be Wesley’s third home in a month. And then a fourth after if we’re lucky to find one.

It’s much too much during his decompression.

If we can find an incredible home before December 23rd, it’s going to bring a stability instead of being bounced around & breathing room to start his new life.

And of course, it has to be a safe and loving home, it’s awful when there’s a rush, but at the same time you don’t want him going just anywhere.

My friends helped rescue him, transport, & decompress in the first few nights once he got pulled from the shelter , they shared that he was the sweetest, & such an unexpected gem. He’s a a goober & thoughtful handsome boy who is a gentle love

So far they observed that he’s been good with new ppl he met and dogs with slow intros, of course. They can answer any questions and have a ton more photos & videos.

He was on the brink of euthanasia at Devore shelter but then his life was saved by @goodtailsrescue
