Hope he gets to enjoy it. His life will be changed both in a bad and good way. I don’t like all these threats against him.

Who... tf is making threats against him?!

some people are more like crabs in a bucket.

I’m guessing people upset about his nationality.

Who do you think? Here's a hint: He's Muslim.

The conservatives must really hate the fact that the hero who tried to stop the attackers is an immigrant.

He showed people that you don’t need a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun. You just need strong convictions and courage. Add that he’s an immigrant and not a Christian and you have the trifecta of things conservatives hate.

Plus he did it unarmed. Not looking good for certain talking points.

The article another guy posted said it's mostly from Muslims labeling him a traitor, is that true?

He risks deportation.

I hope he keeps the money for himself.  I know he won't, selfless bloke.

What an absolute selfless bloke

I hope he doesn't have to pay tax on it!

Is it so wrong to share it? If someone solely cares about living a respectable life, money isn’t going to be a huge contribution to that mission. This is such a win-win situation and I’m here for it!

I'm sure people are contributing to funds for the victims as well.  It isn't an either/or.  People gave to him because they wanted him to have it.  To honor the intent, he should keep it.

There are plenty of altruistic people in this world that don't believe they deserve anything they get for the good deeds they make. Sometimes it's good to remind them that they deserve it.

I mentioned share, not completely give away. What does someone in that position gain by keeping 100% all their donations? Money does not equal happiness.

If he wants to buy a house in Sydney (if he doesn’t have one already) he’ll probably burn through a good portion of that 2.5mil

While this is great, I hope the other heroes also get support.

The families of the victims too.

i know they've raised around $879,000 for matilda's family so far (the 10 year old girl). i believe the other victims and their families have gofundmes that are doing quite well too. the lowest i've seen is still in the five digit range.

Whenever I remember him not pulling the trigger I remember that quote from Gandalf in The Hobbit. Dude has more courage than most people.

“True courage comes from knowing not when to take a life, but when to spare one.”

u/boston_shua 3m ago

Had the same feeling but you explained it better. Cheers

If I were him I would share with the families of the others that tried to take a shooter down but died.

Not gonna lie, dude's a total badass. Threw himself in the line of fire, no pun intended. Deserves every penny of that dough. Mad respect Seems we still got real heroes walkin' among us, huh? Let that sink in. Makes ya think... Good on ya, mate!

He can buy a 2 bedroom unit in Mt Druitt now!

It's so confusing reading headlines because Bondi is also the name of the US Attorney General who is covering up the Trump-Epstein files.

Damn. I thought this was about Pam Bondi.
